10 month old on Maelstrom?

My kids both rode this younger than 3 years old. Unless it is a brand new restriction, then it's not correct. I saw that someone saw it on something other than Disney's website and I often find errors on those and some of the books on the market - for instance one book says the Honey I Shrunk The Kids Playground has a minimum age of 4 - I'd say the majority of kids in there were under 4 on our last visit.

My kids have been riding it for over a year so ages newborn to 5 years - and none have ever been afraid of it. I think every child is different. My kids all love stuff like that.

My 5 yr old is absolutely terrified of Its Tough To Be A Bug haha. Its the only thing we have ever done at Disney that any of my kids are afraid of - well, maybe Kali River Rapids scared the 5 yr old a little - but mainly because he was on the side that the water hits hardest (going backwards) and was totally not expecting it haha. But he still rides it. :-)

DD went on at 7 mos and 19 mos and DS went on at 6 mos. They both enjoyed the ride; weren't frightened and on this past trip, DD put her arms in air (following some riders in front of us) for the drop - I was holding onto her! She did this on POTC as well. I think it depends on the child if they will be afraid.

I Don think there is a restriction. My DS went on at 20 months and dd at 4 no issue and both still love it even now that they are 6 and 9.
I believe it really depends on the individual kid. With DS we just walked on all rides and if things got scary when he was 20 months we would just laugh at it and he would be fine. No issues at all he woke up every morning for months later saying 'ride' 'park' then was very et down when we got home and I said lets go to the park and all he saw where swings! :rotfl:

Then you have my niece and nephew and there is no way I would take them on that ride! they just couldn't take it.

I've never been, but I know that the disney parks sites generally give the info you need for each ride.

For instance, Mission: space says:

I think if there were an age requirement they'd list it. Makes sense to me, at least.

I've never noticed the age restriction and i've always taken infants/toddlers on it. I think once i even nursed my DS on this one.. LOL (discreatly of course)

Really? I had no idea there was an age restriction. I even specifically asked the CM if my DD could ride it....she was only 7 months old at the time.

DH had taken DD3 on it....and she absolutely LOVED it. I was hesitant about taking DD7 months on it, but DH said it was fine. So I asked the CM who said of course we can bring our baby on it. So we did.

We took a 12 month old on it back in 2007. I never noticed any age restrictions

We took our 11month old on it this past November, and he didn't have a problem with it. (Then again we were "wearing" him in a front facing carrier.)

I can't remember if there's an age restriction, but same here bringing my 10months old DS, nothing problem. :)

My son rode it at 4 months and 1 year old. I agree with the other poster that it's no different than Pirates...
