10% dining discount??

I know about the AP/DDE discount, but I'm trying to determine if it's worth the extra expense considering: that we won't be visting twice within 12 months, and that DVC members (I hope to be one by the time this matters!)already get a 10% discount. Can anyone tell me a bit more about the 10% like where it applies, is alcohol included etc...? Thanks!

The 10 % only applies to a few places and most are only for lunch. We get a 20% discount at most of the restaurants in the Swan/Dolphin Resorts. You can get a current list on the Members' website. If you don't have access to that right now, you can get a good idea by clicking here.

DVC members get 10% discounts at quite a few restaurants, if I recall it's about 30, including some popular ones like Cape May and Kona Cafe. We also get 20% discounts at a few restaurants. But there are often restrictions on these discounts such as lunch only or weekdays only. The DDE discount is MUCH better as it is 20% all the time at nearly all WDW restaurants. That's about 3 times as many restaurants, 3 meals a day, and twice the discount.

This year on a 9-day trip we expect to save at least 3 times as much with the DDE as we did with DVC discounts only, even after subtracting the $50 membership fee. If you're only going 4 or 5 days, or aren't eating a lot of sit-down meals, it may not pay off as well.

Just to clarify (or am I the one confused?). The DVC discount is for lunch only, 10% off, but it's a free benefit. For the DDE, you need to spend $50 for the card, then it's 20% off at about 45 resturaunts, table serve and some character meals, at parks and resorts. That benefit is on all meals, but not on certain major holidays (including Thanksgiving)

He meant the DDE discount includes alcohol. The DVC discount does not.

You have to be an annual passholder or Florida resident to buy DDE, it is not connected to DVC.
