10 Delicious Days of Deluxe Dining..Day5-Yachtmans Steakhouse-was it worth 2 credits?

Well, it was finally the start of our DxDDP portion of our trip. We had stayed the first night room only so bright and early Stitch and Mickey woke up and checked us in getting all of the important stuff put on our KTTW cards...especially the credit card! After they checked us in they picked up our refillable mugs at everything POP food court which are included in the DxDDP.

They were really handy to have. We never brought them to the parks like we saw some people doing but we would fill them up every night when we came home and we would have drinks in the hotel room. On a couple days we filled them up when we were home in the afternoon and we used them on the two mornings when we ate breakfast at POP. I understand that they used to have a coke slush machine at POP but that's gone now. They have your usual assortment of coke products (including light lemonade, Stitch's and Mickey's favorite), coffee, tea and hot chocolate. I had to get the hot chocolate one night even though we had record high temps while we were there. It was still good though.

I don't know that we would have bought these mugs if we were paying for them OOP...I wasn't willing to lug them around the parks all day so we didn't use them that much. We probably would have bought just one per couple instead of one each.

Cost: $12.99 + tax/each x 6 = $83.01

Well our first day started off great. We had made an 805am reservation at Crystal Palace thinking that we would get in the park before everyone else but we realized later that it was morning EMH that day so I thought we would have to wait with the rest of the crowds. We decided to go a bit early just in case and asked if we could get in and we ended up getting into the park at about 750 am. For those of you who haven't been in the parks before opening you have to try it. It's really great. In MK they have a special line set up to the right hand side of the turnstiles and you just follow it into the park. They didn't even check if we had reservations or not. So we got in to the park and it was pretty awesome. I had never seem MK empty. Photopass photographers were already out so, since we had pre-bought the CD, we got a bunch of pictures taken then I ran up to the partners statue and took some photos there.

And here's the opening time mob descending upon us.

It was pretty crazy!!

So after the crowds hit we headed to Crystal Palace for our first of many character breakfasts.
010-1.jpg

The wait was about 10 minutes or so. This is because 805am is the first reservation and there are tons of people waiting to fill up the restaurant.

When you first walk in the restaurant seems so open and airy and bright. It's really nice so early in the morning. We always love the dried flower Winnie the Pooh topiary's at the front.

We were seated at a nice table in the room on the far right. Unfortunately we were right beside the doors to the kitchen so it was a pretty busy seat. The characters came around really quickly and they were a lot of fun. Mulan was getting autographs so she was able to get all of the Pooh characters in one sitting. We found the restaurant noisy again but that's what we expected for a character meal.

Breakfast was your average Disney fare but this was one of the few buffets that had the made to order omelet station where you could also get made to order eggs. I didn't realize before I went but you can also request mickey pancakes with or without chocolate chips at the grill. Of course I had to have some of those!!

I have a few random pictures of some plates of food and also some pics of the buffet

Service was excellent here. Karen, our waitress, was really quick to clear the table and also really quick with the bill. Compared to all the other breakfasts we had in WDW this trip Crystal Palace is definitely near the top of our list.

Rating (*'s out of 5)

Morgy827 "Favorite from this meal is the Mickey pancakes and the potato casserole"
****/5
Stitch "enjoyed the characters but found the pre-made scrambled eggs to buttery"
****/5
Donald "also enjoyed the characters and liked that they offered different kinds of juices instead of just pouring orange juice"
****/5
Mulan "Loved the mickey pancakes but found that the characters were slow coming around...also don't forget to bring a sharpie for autographs"
****/5
Tink "Coffee was good and the made to order 'ultimate' omelet was really good. Did not like the fact that the omelet station is in the middle of the buffet so while you are waiting for your omelet to be mad the rest of the food on your plate gets cold"
****/5
Mickey "Liked the mickey waffles but didn't like being disturbed by the people in Halloween costumes (ie characters :lmao:)"

Overall Rating 4/5

Would we go back: Absolutely...this is a great way to get into the parks early and the only other TS breakfast in MK besides CRT. Price is reasonable and we enjoyed the food overall.

Great review!! :thumbsup2

We have an 8.05am ressie for here and can'w wait. Made sure it wasn;t an EMH morning too!;)

Excellent reviews so far! The Kitchen Sink experience looked like it was fun, but wow - it was MESSY!

I keep trying to snag a Crystal Palace breakfast for our upcoming trip to no avail. I love the MK early before the crowds...thanks for those pics. I felt like I was there.

Is it really bad that I want to stay home from work just to read trip reports???

The Kitchen sink was VERY messy but it was fun to try...

It's not really bad...what's really bad is when you're at work reading trip reports like I was!!
