10 Days till Disney. One would think, one would be estatic about going to Disney World in only 10 days. :) :(. But i'm not.

I just can't get in the Disney mood. My mom says I'll be happy once we get there. I just don't know. :(.

I'm 24 years old and have been going to the world yearly. At least once a year (2x in 2009).

I just don't know.
Perhaps it's because it's been over a year since I last went to Disney and forgot how fun it is? or perhaps i'm just growing up and not excited for it.

I just don't know.
Here is a conversation my mom and i had the other day:

"i just feel so blah all the time" - Me
" " - Mom
"I just want to cancel Disney" - Me
"We can't. We already paid." - mom.

I am and was thinking about cancenling but then there goes our money.
I just don't know. I just don't want to get there and be all blah and stuff.

What should I do? I have read my disney books i bought but nothing helps.
I was looking for the disney world dvd we made of our trip in 06? but couldn't find it.

What are you doing today? Contrast that with what you'll be doing at WDW. That should help, unless you have such a wonderful everyday life, in which case, we might have a hard time feeling sorry for your current predicament. :)

We've done trips where we've gone on five or six attractions all week. And it was great. After visiting WDW so much, it's more like a vacation home than a vacation destination. Perhaps looking at it that way will - not so much get you energized about the trip - but rather will make you see a different way to enjoy the trip this time.

Best of luck!

Listening to Disney music gets me excited, so does hanging out on the DIS.

But, maybe you shouldn't TRY to get excited? Personally, just BEING on Disney property makes me super happy. Maybe you should just wait for the magic and let it happen when you get there!! :)

In the meantime, try to find un-blah things to do. Go spend time with friends, do something you enjoy, etc. I think your overall blah feeling is contributing to your Disney-blah feelings!

Think Dole Whip and that should get you energized.

Since you've gone so often, it could be "burn out".. That's what has happened to me.. There was a period of time when I was going twice a year for a few years (3, I think) and honestly? I have no interest in going back now..

However, since the trip is paid for - we have to figure out a way to get you excited about it! ;)

Have you gone to the main page of the DIS where you can look through all of the photo collections?

How about finding the site with the menus - reading them over and deciding what sounds good?

Do you have any Disney music you can play - like the CD from Epcot?

How about going to the Disney site and doing the "tour"?

Go over to the parks board here and search for the threads about unusual things to look for - or things listed as "don't miss"..

I think if you immerse yourself in sights and sounds, your spirit might come back lickety split!

Good luck - and have a great time!!

Don't read books - they are boring as most don't have any pictures in them (channelling Alice).

Sounds like you've either got planning woes or you need a break from Disney.

We booked our last trip 11 months out and the first several I spent planning every waking detail, scouring the net for deals, rehabs, park hours, flights... then it was all complete. AND I STILL HAD 6 MONTHS TO WAIT! :headache:

I entered my Disney planning/pre-trip funk. I wasn't excited at all.

So I sat down and make a countdown chain with my kids. Each link was marked up with what the kids wanted to do on our trip.

Then came the Travel Channel shows.

Soon, we started watching the movies.

Every car trip was peppered with Disney music.

It eventually infected my body through darn near every sense. (We polished it off by making Mickey brownies - they weren't from Main Street, but they tasted good.)

Don't worry about feeling funky on your trip. You will be welcomed down there with open arms.

Hopefully the pixie dust will take you away soon after your arrival.

That's perfectly normal. We just went to Disney about a month ago and I didn't even start getting excited until we got to the airport; finally was excited when we were on the 'Magical Express'. Don't worry. You'll be happy to be there once you get there. :goodvibes

But I would recommend doing something different next vacation since you've been doing Disney so often. I distinctly remember asking once we got back home if we could go to New York next year instead of Disney... :rolleyes1

Do you travel anywhere else besides Disney? I like going to WDW too but make sure to travel to other destinations also.

There isn't anywhere I would want to go on every trip I take, including WDW, and could see how that scenario would burn me out too.

I also travel out to vegas, and mesquite but that was just blah because i went out to school out there and was in my "worry" stage for personal business etc. So no fun. :(.
