**side note** I know that Artist Point was not originally in my ADR list. With Tropical Storm Fay sweeping in this evening we decided to try and get a last minute ADR. As we are staying at WL we felt it would be better to just stay in and enjoy the resort.
It has been a few years since I last ate here and I must say, the experience was even better than I remembered.
We started with two orders of the Venison Spring Rolls. These were delicious! They didn't taste gamey at all, in fact they were very well seasoned and the sauce was sweet and sour with a slight heat in the background.
They also brought us some fabulous sourdough bread.
Now, when I glanced at the menu I was saddened to see that the pork chop was no longer served with the delicious Tilamook Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese. I told my waiter of my disappointment and he informed me that he was able to specially request it! Mmmm! The pork was moist and juicy and the macaroni and cheese was perfectly sharp and rich.
My mom ordered the Roasted Chicken Breast with Apple-Root Vegetable Puree and Haricot Vert. She said the chicken was perfectly cooked because it had been roasted with the skin on and that the puree was the perfect compliment.
My dad got the Buffalo Sirloin and substituted Truffled Fries and Wild Mushrooms for the Sweet Potato Gratin. He said the Buffalo wasn't gamey, but was more dense than beef. I tried this dish and thought it was wonderful. The Fries were intensely flavourful but in a good way.
For dessert my Mom & Dad shared a Grand Marnier Flight (Grand Marnier, 100 year Grand Marnier and 150 year Grand Marnier)
I ordered the Chocolate Raspberry Brownie. This was Khalua, Chambord and Hot Chocolate topped with Whipped Cream. OMG this was unbelievably good!
For non-liquid desserts we ordered the Peach Upside Down Cake with Peach Ice Cream and Almond Florentine Cookie, as well as the Hazelnut Chocolate Torte with Blood Orange Glaze & Vanilla-Lavander Ice Cream
With out Disny Dining Experience Card this meal came to $230. We thought that was VERY reasonable for 2 appetizers, 6 drinks, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts.
In addition, the Manager Rich came over to talk to us midway through the evening. He was very pleasant and struck up a conversation about different wines. Much to our surprise moments later he retuned with 2 samples for each member of our party. He felt these 2 wines were perfect examples of the great wines coming out of the North West. We were very impressed!
