10 Days in October: Argle-Bargle or Foofarah? UPDATED: POSTS #984 & 995!!!

I am getting so jealous...not only are you reporting on V&A from your last trip, but you have alluded to TWO new trips in the works! May AND October! How incredibly unfair.:guilty:

Yummy!!! Everything looked wonderful. Well off for a run and Special K!

Yummy indeed! I wish I had your energy - I've just been sitting around uploading pictures for the next segment. I'm just a lazy sack of crap. ;)

I am totally loving your report! My kids keep asking why I'm rolling on the floor in laughter! I am also a full fledged member of the coke bottle glasses club. -8.5 baby! I just recently broke my glasses and had to get new ones. I picked kiddie frames (Barbie, to be exact) so the lenses don't look too bad! You should bring Grimace to CT, we have 2 of the largest casino's in the world here)

Woot woot!! A new reader!! Thanks for taking the plunge - I'm happy to have you here and glad to know you are enjoying the read!

I feel your pain with the glasses - I just finally got my new, new ones last night. These look a lot better and really minimize the magnification effect.

Actually...Grimmie and Jon are taking a trip up your way this Fall. Now that you mention the casinos I begin to understand why...

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

By the way I love your dress - you look so elegant and beautiful in that photo. Jason scrubs up well too;)

Thanks Karen!

Brenda,
Love the new installments, V&A looks awesome, I wish we could go there...but DH wears shorts year round (only busting out the suit for weddings.) so we are doing Citricos for our anniversary.
Keep it coming!!:thumbsup2

We're going to hit Citricos in October - I hope you'll come back and share your dining experience with us here. I'd love to know what you think of their menu and how the food is.

I am getting so jealous...not only are you reporting on V&A from your last trip, but you have alluded to TWO new trips in the works! May AND October! How incredibly unfair.:guilty:

Oh, Sunny....I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel bad. This year is sort of a WDW freak for us - we weren't supposed to go back in May but then we were able to nab the Chef's Table on our anniversary. We also had a ton of extra DVC points that we had to use this year so that's how we ended up with a trip in May. And October happened because we had to cancel the cruise we were supposed to take instead.

I promise to share lots of good pictures and hopefully amusing stories with everyone in the next few months. And then I'll go silent for a few years because we'll be taking a Disney break after all of this.

Thanks again to everyone for reading! :grouphug:

Gotta go get ready for a wedding now... see ya'll tomorrow!

I'm such a slacker. I haven't made any ADR's for October yet! :rolleyes1
Those animals are way cool. I haven't bought anything from the Mexico
pavilion before. I just kept seeing the giant paper flowers and kept
walking. ;)

Do you know I have not been inside the Mexican pavillion since the 90's? Is that bad? Especially considering we go about every other month? :sad2:

Great installment. I admit, I drooled a little bit. Ok, a lot.

I am so jealous of your Mexican carving guys! I've been drooling over that display for years now, but I'm yet to actually buy one!

Loved loved loved reading about V&A again. Someday I will eat there!

PS You looked lovely and elegant!

Monday, October 23rd - If You Promise to Behave We'll Have an Extra Pack of Lottery Tickets for You Tonight!

**I feel honor-bound to alert those of you who have been through this episode on the food porn thread that much of it will sound the same. But I look at it like this: pictures of dinner at V&A are worth seeing more than once! So let's all drool together, shall we?**

Ahhh, it's time for dinner at Victoria and Albert's - the meal that Jason and I have been looking forward to for months. It was supposed to be a romantic evening for two, but I knew that Jon would love to get his teeth around this place so I extended an invite to the parents and they decided to come along. Oh well, it just gives us an excuse to go back again. And we are, baby! I'm talking about the Chef's Table next month (May 2007) for our big bad anniversary! It will be my pleasure to supply you with even more food porn come June. :goodvibes

Now, where was I before I interrupted myself with dreams of the gluttony to come? Oh yes...for some time the gold standard in our dining passport has been Commander's Palace in New Orleans. We had an anniversary dinner there in Spring of 2005 that consisted of ten courses, with wine pairings.

Fabulous!

Incredible!

It's a lot harder to make ADRs when you have other people traveling with you, don't you think? Are you planning on spending most of your time on F&W events?

Those animals are way cool. I haven't bought anything from the Mexico pavilion before. I just kept seeing the giant paper flowers and kept walking. ;)

Now this is interesting...I don't know which giant paper flowers you're referring to. I wonder if I've just blocked them from my memory??? I will look for them next month.

Do you know I have not been inside the Mexican pavillion since the 90's? Is that bad? Especially considering we go about every other month? :sad2:

Nah, that's not bad. Jay and I almost always skip China...this past fall might have been the first time in 10 years that we actually went through the entire exhibit again. Now we're good for another decade. :lmao:

Great installment. I admit, I drooled a little bit. Ok, a lot.

Thank you ma'am - you were supposed to drool! And did you see the previous post with Plankton's great escape? I only ask because I know you were off-line for a while and you may have missed it - I think that you would really enjoy it if you haven't seen it. Especially in light of your experience at Universal last week. ;)

Well you're just going to have get yourself one in October, aren't you? ;)

You should try to get in when you take your trip next year - that would give you plenty of time to stash some extra cash for the cost (I know, it's pricey). You'd love it!

And thanks for the compliment - even Grimace thought I looked nice for a change! ;)

You know, AFEG, I think you're waaaaaaay too hard on yourself. :goodvibes

That's my evil twin posing with Jason - I'll let her know you've given her your stamp of approval! ;)

PS. This is the link from Animal Dreams and Jason asked me to share the picture with everyone here because it's one of his favorite Homer-isms. Thanks again!! :goodvibes

I read your food porn thread, and just had to read your TR. It's fabu.:thumbsup2 Can't wait for more.

Gotta love Plankton. Sheldon.:lmao:

If I would have known there was a DISer with a Hard Rock Cafe Pin lovin' husband, I would have seen if Cairo had one. Sorry!

Less than 48 hours until I am at WDW and then my first Disney Cruise!

Hi Briarmom, thanks so much for reading and posting - I'm so glad you're enjoying our trippie! :goodvibes

Plankton is great, isn't he? I can't wait to share some more of the pics we took - they're a riot, if I do say so myself.

Cairo...ooooooh! I'm going to have to add that to the list of HRC cities we need to visit. At this rate I'm going to need a second job. ;)

Thank you for the posthumus offer, though - it was very sweet! :flower3:

Your N'Sync Simpsons clip had me laughing myself into the hiccoughs when I saw it. :lmao: And Jason made you an honorary family member just for sharing it! :thumbsup2

If I'm reading your signature correctly it looks like you have a trip coming up soon...have a wonderful time and enjoy that cruise! Disney cruises are wonderful!!! :goodvibes

I did! It was great :thumbsup2
I might be a Plankton convert soon. This morning Lionel and I watched our first ever Sponge Bob episode. April Fool's! (that was the episode....)

Excellent! Keep your eyes peeled for the FUN episode where Plankton pretends to befriend Spongebob - that's one of our favs! :thumbsup2

Yes, it's difficult to make plans around others who know nothing about WDW.
Luckily, I was able to show them sample menus and have them crowd around
my computer while they gave me their dining choices. :)

I'm not sure if Mexico has those giant paper flowers anymore. I rarely find
myself browsing the Mexican tchotchkes. I could be remembering the giant
paper flowers from 10+ years ago for all I know. LOL.

Oh god, that song is hysterical, but it always gets stuck in my head! Then I walk around the house singing it, and my DD yells at me. :lmao:

F is for Friends who do stuff together.
U is for You and me.
N is for Anywhere and anytime at all.

Sea Creatures:
Down here in the deep blue sea!

Plankton:
F is for Fire that burns down the whole town.
U is for URANIUM...BOMBS!
N is for No survivors when you're-

Well I'm glad to hear that - it does make it easier when the other parties show some interest in where you will all be eating. ;)

Jay and I will check just the same and report back to you in June. :thumbsup2

Oh, Nynaeve...you just made my morning!!! :lmao:

We love the FUN song! When we finally found Plankton last year in the Universal Store at Citywalk Jason and I broke out into the FUN song right there in the middle of the store, much to the unease of the poor clerk behind the counter who couldn't wait for us to leave. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm such a food snob and I'm very reluctant to try anything new. The more I read about how much people enjoy eating at V&A, just makes me want to try it. I hope there is something there that I would enjoy! :rotfl2:

Thanks for updating! :thumbsup2

Believe it or not I'm actually a pretty picky eater and I think if I can go there and enjoy the menu almost anyone probably can.

You should try some new stuff on your cruise in September and then work your way up from there. Before you know it you'll be sitting in the dining room at V&A with Kimberly and her new hubby...or even better you guys could all get the chef's table - that would be a blast! :thumbsup2

Yey! I'm a cousin! :yay:

Yes, we have an early flight out tomorrow for a WDW/Disney cruise trip and boy do we need it!

I went to find us a mascot today (because I love that idea so) and couldn't find anyone who fit. Oh well. Oh, and I bought 2 seasons of the Simpsons on DVD because you made me crave it. Thanks.;) My kids will be so happy to watch the Simpsons tomorrow at 6 am!:thumbsup2

I can picture that!! If I had been there I would have joined in! :rotfl2:
Now I'm even sitting here humming it!! :lmao:

Wow, I am only like 30 pages behind! Victoria and Alberts! I can't wait to read that one. But I am going to wait until I can sit down and read it all. I have been saving it - like a good novel! Maybe I can print it and take it on vacation?
