10 Days in October: Argle-Bargle or Foofarah? UPDATED: POSTS #984 & 995!!!

Now, I must preface this with a brief explanation - Jason and I are not "up" on a lot of popular culture. A long time ago we used to be with it. And then they changed what "it" is. Now what we're with isn't "it" and what is "it" seems weird and scary to us (I took that from Grandpa Simpson, but it sums us up perfectly).

Maaaaaaatlock!

I'm sitting here drinking what will probably be too much scotch, enjoying the fact that my kids are with their grandparents tonight and that's all I can think of. :)

Enjoying the trip report.

Loving your TR!
I read your dining report and you had me in constant :rotfl2: mode. You're writing style is fabulous! Can't wait to hear about how the parental units did on this trip. I think our fathers are related. My dad had the same look in all our pictures, until the last day that is ... then he had a grin from ear to ear!
Can't wait for the next installment!:)

I'm loving the trip report so far!

Just wanted to let you know, in reference to this:
"It was an uncomfortable flight for me and I guess if I'd really wanted to I would have asked if I could have pre-boarded but I didn't really know if they'd believe me or just think that I was full of crap."

Southwest gives out the pre-board passes to anyone who asks for them! You don't need to obviously need them. MY mom has RA (arthritis) and can't walk too far at a time, plus she walks very slowly, although still looks normal when doing so. She's just very self-concious about it. So, we always ask for pre-boarding when she flies. IT just makes her feel better to know she 1) isn't holding everyone up, 2) usually gets a seat in the front of the plane, so she doesn't have to walk too far, and 3) doesn't have a lot of people watching her as she makes her way down the aisles. I know there have been times the attendents have looked at her funny when she's requested the pre-board, but they always give it to her.

Just in case you ever are flying that close to surgery in the future, it's something to keep in mind.

Plankton is great!! I think every trip needs a mascot.
Oh and off the subject, I am a Red Sox fan by nature, but i do like your precious Cardinals as well. Oh wait..you meant the baseball team and not the actual bird..oh in that case....Just Kiddin! They are great :)

Oh Oybolshoi, how I am enjoying your TR. Plus, it is nice to put a face with a name. I can't wait for the rest of you report! Percocet, Darvocet, hot flashes and petulant parent.........I smell a bestseller!! I may have to head over to the Restaurant boards and scare up your dining review while I wait.

Great start Brenda!!! I am super glad you decided to write this! Very entertaining!!! Is plankton joining us on the cruise this October???

Can't wait for the rest!! :cool1:

This is not typical of St. Louis in the middle of October - at least not since global warming changed the US weather patterns and moved real winter about two hundred miles north of STL.

First thing, global warming is a farse! Just wanted to clear that up. ;)

Secondly,

We've bought into the idea that ESPN (Eastcoast Sports Propaganda Network) knows what's best and that the only teams American baseball fans really want to watch are the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Dodgers, and Giants.
Thats not true! We could care LESS about the Mets! :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: - you never don't crack me up! :thumbsup2

And actually, we Cardinal fans have a soft spot for the Red Sox. I thought St. Louis behaved really well when the birds got their butts handed to 'em on a platter in 2004. Thank goodness Jay and I were on a cruise ship headed for Mexico so that we could drown our sorrows with cheap, duty-free liquor!

I'm another one of those "loved your food trippie" folks and wanted to hear all about your trip! popcorn::

:cool1: I agree. St. Louis was very classy. We were a bit upset at the Cards when we took in Rent-a-wreck (Renteria) and he performed horribly in 2005! :rotfl2:

Hey Brenda...just popping in to say - LOVE'in IT!!!!
Still waiting for you to send me a signed first edition when you finally realize your true calling - get that manuscript out.

Hey to Jay and HP...........k

We love the Simpsons reference, as well as the report so far! Keep it coming, we're addicted.:thumbsup2

What with the lousy Smarch weather I decided to find my favorite trip report.... figured I would read the next installment..... Brenda!..... get back to your room (Said in my very best Mother's voice) and finish the next installment.

Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your writing and reports,

:rolleyes1 :laundy: :surfweb: :hourglass

She's doing it to me again. Starts an awesome trip report and then leaves me hanging wanting more!

Just wanted to pop in and thank everyone for their kind comments...it's good to know that some of the humor is coming through. I think just about everything that happens in life is funny but in some circles people interpret that as a form of insanity. ;)

A few quick replies --

Saffy - thanks so much for the info about Southwest. I will keep that in the back of my mind should it become necessary to beg a seat with extra leg room.

Timon - Thanks for coming over! Plankton is already busy at work on plans to conquer the Caribbean this fall...I wonder if it's possible to find him a small tropical shirt? :lmao:

Hannahsmom!! Thanks for reading...whatever happened to your spectromagic report? Did I lose the thread or did you? ;)

I'm going to try to get a partial update started tonight...thanks again for reading everybody! :flower3:

The rub is that their policy states that anyone who pre-boards can't get the emergency exit rows! I guess they don't want the frail, crippled, or pre-obsessed with their young children to be the ones responsible for helping everoyne out the window in event of an emergency. Go figure!:scared1:
