10 Day Ticket question...unused portion?

We will be going to WDW the week after Christmas. We are only going to the parks for four days. However, we are considering purchasing the 10 day park hopping option with no expiration.

We will be taking a 4yr old friend of our 4yr old daughter with us and we will be picking up the tab. My question is how is the unused portion of the ticket treated? Will the remaining six days be under our name because we are paying for them or are they assigned individually. We do not know if our daughters friend would be traveling with us again or not.

Technically whoever uses the ticket owns it and the same person is supposed to use up everything on the ticket. Your daughter's friend should take the ticket home after the trip. Should s/he not visit again until past age 9 s/he can exchange it for an adult ticket with the same remaining admissions, with no charge.

Tickets are assigned to the specific individual who first uses the ticket and are non-transferrable. Maybe you could purchase a 4 day ticket for the friend and get your family the 10 day ticket. Have fun.

I am not saying if its right or wrong just giving opinion and asking if it could be done so please no flames. If the tickets are not personalized with a name on them. And I know they do that scan thing with a finger to determine who ised it. If it is not a finger print witch it is not but a measurment of distance between the joints...how can they say that this child at age 4 did not grow to a larger porportion at say age 7? Did that confuse anyone besides me.

What I am saying is if they go by size not print a childs finger grows and they have to compensate for that right? I think since you are paying for it it should be your ticket. If that is not the case like the other poster said I would by your friend a 4 day!

Children 3 to 9 are not scanned. I know adult tickets are supposed to be signed on the back by the first user, not sure about children's.

If you order your tickets online they do not have a name assigned to them...

That would be great if we could buy a 4 day ticket for our guest. However, I was under the impression that when one purchases a package, everyone must have same type of tickets. does anyone know if this is true?

If you get your ticket as part of your package, it will be on your room key and will then have a name assigned to it. Just buy 4 day tickets for everyone and then when you check in upgrade your families to the 10 day no expiration tickets and leave his as 4 day tickets.
