So I have been dreaming for months. Well… years really to go and see the Christmas decorations at Disney world. First let me tell you that Christmas is not my favorite holiday. I like Halloween the best. In my house growing up my mom would decorate ever inch of our house for Christmas. A candy cane was hung every where. I could not wait till she took it all down and our house became what I called NORAML again. I really did not get into Christmas until I had my children. Seeing Christmas through their eyes made me enjoy the time of year more. My DH on the other hand loves Christmas and I have the credit card debit to prove it. :sad2:

:santa: I have always heard such great things about WDW at Christmas time. My Aunt use to work at WDW, she was behind scenes of magic. She always enjoyed decorating the park for Christmas time. When my mom was living in Orlando she got see the parks all decorated. My Mom was not a huge fan of WDW like myself, but she never stopped talking about how great it look at Christmas time. My Mom passed away on August 22nd. I miss her so much. It has been very rough. This trip report is being written in her memory, and we are going to WDW to end the year happily.

I was already planning on a trip to WDW for DS 16th birthday, but after my mom died I really wanted to go even more. The holidays are going to be hard on me this year. My DH said “you are going to need something to get you through them”. He said for me to book a trip. So I have been keeping my mind busy crunching numbers and pennies to get us to WDW.

So, sorry to hear about your mom. I hope this does the trick this year to help you through it. Can't wait to hear all your details!

We are booked For December 31st 2008-January 7th 2009.We will be staying at Port Orleans French Quarter :joker: This will be our first time staying at this resort.

This trip is a surprise for my DS 16th birthday. But it will be a surprise to both DS and my DD. I thought about telling her, but she is not too good with keeping secrets. I have always wanted to surprise them with a trip. DH and I were planning a surprise cruise, till we had to buy a new car this spring. We could not afford the air fare and the cruise. So we put the cruise off till April now. We are hopefully going to go during spring break, since we are taking the kids out of school for a couple days for Disney now. I am really looking forward to planning this trip

I'm subbing!! Great start, can't wait to hear how the surprise goes down with your children!!

First of all  for you. I'm sorry so for your loss.

You need some Disney magic - I can't wait to read all about your trip! :goodvibes

Intro:
:mickeyjum Me 37 and counting:eek: I work for a market research company that gives out ratings! I hate it.
I use to be a teacher and miss it so much. If I had the money I would go back to school to teach special education. I dream of moving to Fla. and working for the mouse one day. I am looking forward to seeing Christmas at the mouse’s house this trip and eating at Kona. I really am just going there for one of those drinks in a pineapple.:thumbsup2 This will be my 9th trip to see the mouse. This is me pamouselover!

:dumbo: DH 39 facilities Manager. He works very hard. He is getting the Disney bug more and more each trip. He gets motion sickness and does not do rides. But he has this magic pill called Dramamine that enables him to ride Thunder Mountain and TOT for the first time in 2005. He also rode Space Mountain in 2007. He will conquer Everest this trip. I wish I could get him to do RNRC, but I don’t think that is going to happen. He will not ride dumbo even on his magic pills. This will be DH's 6th trip to WDW.
This is my DH (who swares we use DH for dumb husband) with DS and DD at CP in Aug. 2007.

:goofy: DS 15 BIRTHDAY Boy. Going to turn 16 on January 3rd. Were did the years go? He is my Disney loving child though he will not admit it. But you can see it in his eyes. He was brained wash at a early age. His nursery was Mickey and friends. I am sure he will be looking for some disers this trip... Well, crazy people like his mom. Yes that is what he calls us. His first trip to the world was in 1994 at the age of 15 months old. This will be the birthday boys 6th trip to see his friend Mickey mouse.
This is how he spent last Aug. 2007 in WDW. Lets all pray now:worship:

:stitch: DD 12 My princess. She loves going to Disney world but thinks I am a a bit over the top when it comes to disney. She will be excited we are going, as she was feeling the Disney bug in the summer when her friend was getting ready to go. So I know someday she will be a diser!!!!! She will somehow know about this trip, because she is so much like me... she knows everything somehow. She is very in tune, and I worry she will found out about my surprise trip. This will be her 5th time going to the most magical place on earth. Is this not the smile of someone who has the disney bug?

Hi, Thank you. So glad you came to join me.:flower3: I really cant believe I am going yet. Only 85 days to go.

First of all  for you. I'm sorry so for your loss.

I am so sorry about your mom & I think that your better half is right...planning a trip will help to keep you focused on something & help you get through the holidays.

Plus just think how nice it will be to be in warm, sunny Florida in the middle of winter!

Good luck keeping the surprise under wraps. We did this with our son but he's only 4 1/2. Mind you, keeping my mouth shut for 6 months just about killed me :rotfl: . Even now that the trip's over I still catch myself. I have to stop & remind myself that it's OK to use the word "Disney" now.

Hi Welcome:yay: ! I have a rottie too! I have to post a pic of him. He is snoring right now under my feet. LOL

Day 1 Wednesday Dec.31st Arriving day NYE
:sail: Captain Jacks for dinner
We ate here in Aug 07'. I have heard rumors that they are no longer going to serve the twin lobsters, and I hope that is not true.

Day 2 Thursday Jan.1st
:dog2:Tony’s Town Square
This will be our first time eating here. I hope we enjoy it.

Day 3 Friday Jan. 2nd

paw: Tusker house
We have never ate at the TH. I have heard good things about it. We wanted to stay at AK for dinner since it is EMH.

Day 4 Saturday Jan.3rd (DS birthday) :bday:

:fish: Coral Reef
This will be our first time eating here. I have contacted them about the menu and diver for DS's birthday. I was told to call back in Dec. I have heard that it was just for a YOAMD. So we will see.

Day 5 Sunday January 4th

:drinking: Kona for dinner
Yeah.. I am finally going to eat here, and drink out of a pineapple.

Day 6 Monday Jan.5th Epcot
::MickeyMo Chef Mickey's- Dinner

We have eaten twice. Once for breakfast in 2005, and last Aug. for dinner. We love it here.
So swirl your napkin!

Day 7 Tuesday Jan 6th

:stitch: Ohana's Best Friends Breakfast with Lilo & Stitch

Will on the phone making my ADR's I came across a problem. I wanted the Hollywood and vine with the fantasmic package but was unable to get that. So I had to move things around a bit, and just added this in. We have never ate here before, but I might change it to dinner. It was a quick thought, so my poor CM was not waiting forever on me.

Day 8 will be all CS and heading home! Boo...

Coral reef is wonderful, even if you don't get the diver. We all really enjoyed dinner and my husband just LOVED eating with the fishes ;) . You could probably still get personalized menus, if you want to do that (another surprise :) ).

And snoring rottie pictures are perfectly acceptable, you know. Sometimes it's what they do best :rotfl: .
