10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hi there fellow cruisers!! I am completely new to this amazing board and all the work you have done to get to know eachother. I serve a wonderful purpose, because I think I really and truly AM the worst procrastinator in the whole wide world. I can make any of you who have last minute anythings feel much better about yourselves!
Myself (Rebecca 39), DH (Rob 39) DS (Jacob 13) and DD (Lizzie (9) will be in rooms 6600 and 6602 I believe. Being the procrastinator that I am, I'm sure I've completely missed the opportunity to participate in many of your fun events, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway. We will be at the Radisson the night before. This will be our 3rd time staying there. We love it! In all, we are traveling with a group of 14 friends. Here's to not staying up ALL night the night before we leave barking orders at my poor sweet DH and ultimately collapsing in tears and exhaustion and swearing I'll nevr do it again. I have actually made all of my purchases and laid some outfits out on the bed....There may be hope for me this year!! Looking forward to hopefully bumping into some of you around the ship.

Welcom Rebecca and Family! I try not to be a procrastinator and even though I have my lists and have most everything in baskets for each person, I will continue to do the last minute packing and unpacking. I have 2 suitcases packed but I am pretty sure I will unpack those at least twice before we actually leave. I too will be freaking out and barking orders at my husband. He tried to suprise me once with a weekend getaway. He wouldn't tell me where we were going. I was so stressed out. I kept asking what I needed to pack and he kept saying something warm. I kept on and on about do I need anything dressy? Do I just need my flip flops? I was stressing out so bad he ended up telling me where we were going at about midnight just to get me to stop packing and go to bed!

I think I can give you a run for your money! I had planned to do all the laundry yesterday... got about 1/2 way through it. Today I have to clean the house because we are having DD5's birthday dinner tonight. Her presents have not been wrapped and the cake is not made. I also need to try to finish the laundry. Tomorrow I have to pack, clean out the car, and dig the car top carrier out from under the house and scrub it. My day usually ends around 3 AM with me falling asleep on top of the crap spread all over my bed! (And yes... swearing to never do it again!)

might have you all beat haven't packed a thing. I have a paper for school due today still not done. Have a final that will be posted tomorrow. Have a oral presentation due tonite. and have an oral exam on thursday night. then hae to work in between it all and get FE gifts together. LOL

Hi Rebecca and welcome!!!! I believe there are others staying at the Radisson Friday night, so look for a group there. I really hope you'll join us for the DISmeet on deck 9 on Saturday. I also have a son that is 13 (or is turning 13 on the cruise). He'll be the one constantly in line for the video game systems, lol.

I actually packed, zipped and tagged one suitcase last night, only 5 more to go, lol. Tonight my school is having their homecoming game so I'll be there until at least 9:30. One of my previous students asked me to escort him when he's introduced since his parents are working tonight. I thought that was so sweet and such an honor to be asked.

WEll, I guess I'd better get some plans ready for next week's substitute, so I'll touch base later!

Im on my last day of work here, tomorrow I have off, and Thursday off as well, we fly out LATE Thursday night. Will keep ds home from school on Thursday so he (and I) can sleep in and be not so cranky on the plane (both of us!)

Hard to believe it's only a few days away and BAM the holiday has begun!

Since we are going to WDW after the cruise, I have much more stuff now than on our 2006 cruise. Maybe I'll open up my suitcase and take some stuff out. But then the "What if I'll need that" creeps into my head and I'll be mad at myself if I really do need it and took it out 3 days before. Oh, what to do!!

Anyway, I made Chris and I name tags for our lanyard so we will be easily recognizable. Maybe some of us will meet while waiting at the Port. I think I'll be able to spot some of you from your pictures!

Have a nice Tuesday. Only 2 more wake-ups for us and we're off! Who is going to be the last one out? Have we determined that yet?

I got buttons for our lanyards that push through and are letters, so far only Skyler has one cause he had a lanyard that I bought on the last Cruise, but once I get mine, will do same thing! I think you are right about meeting at the port, but good to have name tags just in case (could be embarrassing if you got the wrong person!)

Where are you staying at WDW?

We will be at The Contemporary from October 11-14. I love, love, love that resort!! We are in the Tower with a Magic Kingdom View. Just spectacular. We are going to MNSSHP on October 13th. One of my all-time favorite things to do! Last year we got 21 lbs of candy (over 2 nights!) We had to put it all in our carry-on. Our family and friends LOVED us when we got home. (yes, we gave MOST of it away!)

Maybe we will run into you at Fort Wilderness. Chris and I are planning on eating at Trail's End, it is by far one of our favorites in all of WDW!! We will probably eat there a few times. Another one of our absolute favorites in FW is going to Tri-Circle D Ranch to visit with the horses. No matter what are plans are in WDW or where we are staying, we always make a point to go over to FW, eat at Trail's End and visit Tri-Circle D!

I also made us inserts with our cruise logo and our names!! I did get the idea of name tags in the lanyard from you, Denise!

Hi fellow Buccaneers!!!!

I can't believe my ticker shows 1 day, 17 hours, and 35 minutes until we leave! AAAGGGHHH!!!! I started packing a week ago, but I am of course filled with the panic that I'm forgetting something major. Oh the joys of pre-travel jitters!

Sometime last fall / winter, my five year old began asking, "How much longer until we get on the Magic?" After about the third consecutive day, I decided to make a visual for her. We have been taking down a tiny post-it note every day since. Here is what it looks like today:

If you can't tell, it's a Goofy ring!

I also finally took some pictures of my work-in-progress DCL bathroom for the kids. Since we are celebrating our departures, here are a few:

Ginger I love that room. We are turning one of our bedrooms into an exercise room for me. I had it paint a bright cheerie yellow, DH calls it school bus yellow. I had two posters framed that I purchased years ago on the Magic. One is the ship and the other is mermaid looking up at he ship. It's going to be my Disney room.
I would love to know where you got the Mickey wave stencil.

Washing clothes and packing, I'm getting stressed. I could have had off from work starting tomorrow till the 13th, but nooo I said "I can work on Wednesday and Thursday, no problem".

Hey Other Ginger!!!

I actually projected it onto stencil board (plastic) and cut it out with a blade. That sponging on of the pattern took forever! I still have to do some above the shower / tub. It's just so hard to reach!
