SOS I am leaving tomorrow to start our disney vacation and the email that a kind diser sent with the cruise avatar did not get to me I think my email provider likes to eat my emails.

We leave in 9 days and counting.

Mindi- We have been so crazy at work this week I have not had a chance to get downstairs. If no nurses call in on Friday, my Dr will be out. will try to get downstairs then. What time do you come in? I am usually there at 730.

We do have a few extra FE gifts will give out as many as I have.

I had you on my list today at lunch but got wrapped up in charting! I usually get in about 7:55. I asked Kevin the maintance guy if he knew who you were. He is going on a cruise too over fall break but not Disney!

I will be in Friday so I hope to touch base with you.

Hey Denise, do you think we will have much trouble getting the gifts across the border? Mine are kinda special.... have been getting "crafty" and I think I have to carry in my carry-on in case of breakage.

We fly out in 8 days (almost 7) on Thursday, where you guys staying the "night before" we cruise? Or are you coming straight through?

I suspect you're gonna miss the BIG election too! Oh well!

Hey Bucs, just thought I would let you know there is a thread on the trip report board that has been started by a fellow who is on the Magic right now (think dry docks upgrades here). Thought you might want to check it out...my hope was that the staterooms were going to get "spruced up" but it looks like that is not the case...happy reading!

Okay so little dings and dents here and there, but my gosh did someone rework the plumbing so that the sewage goes into the Goofy Pool?
I have swam in Alberta lakes that looked better than that!

Oh and he didn't really need to take a photo of the toilet with yellow water in it.... really??

But Im glad at least we are aware that the dry dock was mainly for the engine work and not so much refurbishing. Expectations lowered...

Unfortunately the night launch of the space shuttle on October 10th has been delayed until the 14th. Too bad as we could have had a good view if the weather was clear.

Tomorrow is my day to depart. I got one suitcase packed last night (dinner clothes) and got it in the car before Crimminal Minds began! I was very diligent and wrote down everything I put in the suitcase so I don't forget something. DH still needs a tie or two and his white shirt (it was in the washer/dryer) and I will then call that part of the list good.

Tonight begins the rest of it. No work tomorrow and hopefully I will be ready to hit the road by 3:30 to get down to Alma to watch Drew's soccer game. I am so ready for this to begin. I checked my airline and I was upgraded to first class! Some of this work travel pays off. Yippee.

I've finally started to pack for the cruise. I have a few questions for the ladies about outfits!
Here goes...
1.When on vacation, I normally wear "resort casual" clothes during the day. This means a pair of capris or pants, a nice top, and some cute sandals. I think the average person would consider it "dressy." On nights that are not "formal nights" is it okay to wear the same clothes for dinner?

2. Are you packing enough clothes for the cruise or do you intend to do laundry?

Yes, we booked my DH, DF, and DFIL all on that trip in the morning, they are really excited about it! Guess they'll be fishing together!

Last year when we cruised, I wore my skort (shorts/skirt combo) and my Disney collar shirt and that was acceptable. Upon reading through some of the forums, it seems to me that the "formal night" is a little less "formal" for some people than others. Wear what you would feel comfortable in and what seems "formalish" to you and Im sure you will be fine.
Im back in my skort and a nice shirt for the formal night, whereas my mother will be bringing a whle outfit for this night in particular.

What deck can you do Laundry on? We are another week on holiday at WDW after the Cruise, so would LOVE to do some laundry on the ship. Do they provide laundry soap or should I bring some?
Also, what's the cost on that?

Oh and don't forget to turn the lights off Lori, we will be in Orlando on Friday morning.....

Laundry facilities are located on decks 2, 6 and 7 I believe. Coin operated and you have to provide the detergent as well as the dryer sheets. There is a machine in the laundry room to purchase soap and dryer stuff but I always bring my own. I am going to try not to have to but might have to do a load of unmentionalbes depending on the weather etc. We have a one bedroom at OKW so that has a washer and dryer in it so I should be able to be all clean when we leave for the port.

Dress - I am someone that "dresses" for dinner because I enjoy that aspect. Skirt and top, dressier slacks or my little black dress (only it isn't very little because I am not very little ) and a jacket. Do what you are comfortable in and what makes you happy. As the saying goes - you will see everything from soup to nuts.

Back to work - maybe I can really not have to stop here tomorrow if I get my stuff done.

Hi Karyn...I don't think there should be much of a problem at the border...as long as you don't have any liquid in yours LOL...you should be OK!!! I don't know if there are any stipulations on gifts or not...but if there was they would have to be pretty expensive gifts for them to say anything I would think!

I can't wait to see what you have come up with...you have me curious!!!

Unfortunately...we are getting picked up at our home at 4:30 in the morning on the 4th and our flight is at 7:30 landing at 10:30am (or something like that)! My husband was a little worried because he has heard that it is best to leave the day before in case there are delays...but Make a Wish has made all the arrangements and it was out of our control...not that I am complaining!

I second the vote for Mickey!!!!! LOL My dad is always on me about who I am going to vote for...I will have to tell him that!!! I am sure he will be thrilled!!!

Lovely...I just got a call from my oldest DD at school that she is not feeling well...here we go...the start of all the germs and illness! All I need is for them to be healthy for the cruise...is that to much to ask!!??

Sorry, can't tell you till we are ON the cruise as to what my gifts are...
I hope you get to the ship on time, Im sure it will be fine. The line ups at the port are your worst enemy, last year we lined up for what seemed like forever to get on the Disney Bus to take us to the Port. Or maybe it just felt like forever cause we were so excited to go!

I just told my mom we won't be voting, she didn't seem that worried. Oh well, one less vote for the Green Party....

It's gonna be so cool being neighbors, I still can't get over that. Of all the places to get upgraded to. next to fellow Canadians! YAH

I just sincerely hope they clean that Goofy Pool..... ewww....
