10/4/08-Buccaneers Take the West! Cruiser List in Post #1

Hello, Hello!

This will be the second sailing on the Magic for DW and I (sailed the EC in 2002) and the first for our daughters, 8 and 18 months at time of sailing. We are trying to talk my sister and her husband into joining us. Their anniversary falls during the week of the cruise (9 Oct), so what better way to celebrate! Hope to see some of you on board!!!

:welcome: to all our new cruising buddies. How awesome to add so many new faces.

Spartanburg was a great trip - loved walking around with no jacket! But, back home now and have some freezing rain turning to rain with some sleet and then colder and more snow tonight. How lucky can a girl get? :rotfl:
I did manage to get unpacked yesterday and catch up on some :laundry: but that is a never ending task.

Great news on the DC trip Lori. I have never really been - flown in and out of Dulles several times but that is as close as I ever got. I really should take the time when I travel for work and stay another day (or go early) to take in some sights.

Lois - good luck on the powerball! Since I never even play, I guess I will never win.

Well, guess I best be getting back to that laundry. Those of you with tomorrow off - ENJOY!

Welcome to the group. Hope you can talk your sister and family to join. Lois

Welcome Chet! Glad to have you join our group!

It's a rainy day here in Chattanooga, TN (55%, so it's not too bad). I'm trying to find someone to go exercise with, but they all want to stay in today. I think I'm going to sit in my new recliner and be lazy as well.

Lori P. :)

I'm glad to see that there will be a couple of gatherings of DISers. I can't promise that we'll be there because I don't want to make plans but we will probably come to the meeting on the first day.

Thank you for the warm welcome.
We're looking forward to meeting everyone.:thumbsup2

To the other Ginger, Hey! Hi!
Ginger we did miss the cruising thing last year. I really didn't mind we spent a week at Vero Beach instead. It was great. I did pretty much of nothing:laughing: just loved it.

Mr & Mrs. Smith, that's a great plan. I'm another one who doesn't want to be locked into to too many things, but that's the great thing about having several things going. You can just drop by whichever you want.

Does anyone like to play games? Does Disney ever have a boardgame time? Maybe some of us could plan on doing that if they do. My mom LOVES playing games, so I know she'd be in.

My son broke his toe on Friday, so I've got to go get that fixed up. Later!

Lori P. :)

Hello! DH and I had a change of vacation plans for the year and we just booked this cruise yesterday!!!

Looks like we booked just in time because there were not very many Category 6's to choose from!

It will just be DH and I sailing, he will be turning 30 during the cruise.

Hopefully the next 7 months will SAIL right past!

Kelly

:cutie: :welcome:

Found us on page two. Lori - hope your son's toe isn't too sore. I can't imagine. My youngest broke his thumb playing soccer (during warmups, played the entire game, and goalie so he does use his hands) and he was pretty uncomfortable for several days so I hope he feels better soon.

Comment on Saturday's meet - could I suggest maybe 3:00 instead of 3:30 so we have some time before dashing to the lifeboat drill at 4:00. Thoughts???

I hope everyone that was off today had a good day! It isn't snowing here so that is a good thing.

I think 3 PM would work just fine. What do the rest of you think? Is everyone OK with meeting by the Mickey Pool and drink Station? Anyone have any other ideas? Lois

I just booked a 2 king bed suite at the Radisson for Oct 3.
We'll be driving down from Maryland.

I'm sad cause we won't have any time to go to Disney World on this trip.
Ashley will be missing enough time from school.
Oh well, looks like we'll have to make another trip at a little later date to Fla. so we can take Geneva to Disney World,:rotfl: She's never been.

Lori P, thanks for the kids thread address I sent Ashley there last night.

Suppose we need a backup plan in case of bad weather? I know - how could I even think that but, well, we might want to be prepared, just in case.

I think 3:00 works great and the drink station is fine. Since our cabin is so far forward, we may take our vests with us (or mine with me anyway) as DH can be so "odd" when it comes to DIS meets but you can bet that I will be there.

Welcome to Keggy! Boy, our group is growing daily it seems!

3:00 is fine with me. I hadn't thought about the drill being at 4:00. Thanks for thinking of that.

Ben's toe is okay, but it would seem his soccer days are over for a bit. He was supposed to play in a soccer tournament in two weeks, but I don't think he's going to make that one.

Gotta take Nathan to basketball practice.

(Ginger, I read where Ashley posted. The boys are always excited when other people write.)

I think 3:00 would be great.

Welcome Keggy!

Lori, hope Ben's toe is better. I told Patrick about it. I'm sure he will send Ben a message soon.

I'm fighting the stomach bug. Last night was awful!!! I'm better today, but my stomach is still not 100%.

Everyone have a great evening.

Gena

Gena, sorry to hear you were sick. Our school has had so many sick students and teachers. Several school systems around Chattanooga have cancelled school for a few days to let the bug die out. However, our school system is so big that it would take a phenominal amount of absentees to make them cancel ours.

I've only had one son get really sick, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get anymore. We found out on THursday that Ben's two best friends at school now have mono.

Lori P. :)

I refuse to think about bad weather. However I am sure as we get closer we can come up with an INSIDE location for our frist meet just in case.

Here's to hoping that toes and stomachs are feeling better, I have been lucky and have not gotten sick yet. I hope everyone feel 100% real soon.

Our days are getting closer. Janet and I are down to 213 day now. I going to get ready for work. Short week but very long days. See everyone later. Lois

pixiedust: to Ben and Gena - hope both are back to normal soon. Mono is a pretty scary thing - my Ben (oldest) had it when he was in high school but it didn't last all that long and no one else caught it thank heaven.

I suppose it is Monday for some of us - glad I got mine out of the way yesterday ;) ! Hope your first day back to school was uneventful.

Thank you everyone for the great welcome!!!!

Welcome to all the new people :goodvibes .

A 3pm meet sounds good to me too.

Lori, hope Ben's toe is not too sore. Must be hard for him not to be able to play soccer.

We're back into the swing of things now. The kids have start of the year testing at school. Sam's ballet classes don't start until next term (end of April) but she is going to do a 1/2 hour private lesson each week to practice on pointe shoes, so she will be at a similar level as the one other girl using them. this is the most excited I've ever seen her about ballet.

Hope you all have a good week.

Tania

Welcome to all our newfound sailing friends!!! I've updated Post #1. Let me know of any changes/corrections.

We're still in the middle of a long, cold, nasty, windy, snowy winter in mid-Michigan.

Hope everyone who's been sick is feeling better.

Meeting at the Mickey pool/drink station at 3pm on Sat. is a great idea. Even if it rains, the area is covered so we should be able to avoid getting wet.

Has anyone decided on excursions? Gail is trying to convince me that I will like the stingrays, but I may pass on that one.

Have a great evening everyone.

Jan
