10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

Hello All,
We are new to DISboards and this is our 1st Disney Cruise. WE just booked this cruise last week. I've been on many cruises (over 15) but never on Disney...so we are excited!
Traveling will be me (Nicole), my husband Carl, our son Nicholas (5) and our daughter Juliana (2.5).
Looks like I need to join the FB group for this sailing. Is there anything else I am supposed to do? It seems like there is a lot to learn about a Disney Cruise!
Thanks!
Nicole

Hi :goodvibes. Welcome to this cruise and the Disboard and the FB page :cool1:

Please feel free to ask anything to make your sailing a little better.

There's nothing like the Friday evening of a long week-end where you know you have 3 lazy days ahead of you! :goodvibes

Gives me lots of time to go through Fantasy Cruise reviews!

Hi,
We will be celebrating out daughters 10th b-day while we are on the cruise too. My hubby and both of our Mom's will be there too. This is our first Disney cruise and I am so beyond excited and have been doing some research so we will have the best time!!

:cool1:We are sailing on this cruise, too! We just sent a request to join the FB page! Excited to meet everyone.

Welcome to this Not So Scary Halloween Cruise, and welcome to the Disboard too.:cool1:

We have three generations going on the cruise. My folks originally wanted a magic porthole room then saw pics of rooms with the real portholes. So upgraded them first to a CAT 9, all that was available then, and then this weekend some CAT8s opened up so upgraded again. I think they will like the light and sea views while getting dressed. My sister and her family are also in a Cat8.

We have a lot of birthdays to celebrate. Seems like half the family has birthdays in late sept and October. Hope they have lots of birthday cake, chocolate please!

Mostly I hope to have enough energy after finishing chemo to have some beach time fun. Unfortunately I am the only person in my family who likes to hang on the beach and play in the water. Gotta find some other activities for my landlubber family

Ready for the cruise to be here NOW. But in the meantime I booked a December trip to Disney World for hubby and myself - first time at the Wilderness Lodge!

I thought I joined earlier and discovered I signed up under my husband's Facebook. Never let other people use you tablet device! JK
My fb name is kgregson and my did boards name is kimatiu

Sorry for the double work and thanks in advance

Welcome :cool1: I think all of you will get what you want sometime or another. Castaway Cay for sure offers it all.

Wildeness Lodge is one of my favorite resorts, and the Christmas decorations are very nice.

Hi! First time on Disney cruise line. Can I get a crib in my room for my 19 month old or do I have to bring my pack n play?

Hi :goodvibes

I've never sailed with a baby (DD was 7 on our 1st cruise) but here is some info from the Disboard that might help. I would still call DCL just to make sure.

"Cruise with Children:

Worried about having to pack all their "gear"? Disney's taken care of that for you! Strollers are available free of charge (with a $200 deposit, which will be returned when you return the stroller). There are a limited number available though, so if you want one, be sure to get there quickly! If you bring your own, an umbrella stroller might be the way to go, since it won't take up too much room in your cabin. You won't need to bring a pack-n-play either. When you book your reservation, your room will be set up with the appropriate amount of bunk beds or cribs to accommodate your entire party"

We're in!

I just sent a FB request - we're Amy and Bill, this is Disney cruise #8 for us. Just got off the Panama crossing in May, excited to be sailing again so soon!

I am booked for Catamaran, Reef and Kittiwake Snorkel Sail in Caymans, Tropicante in Costa Maya and the Cozumel Beach Break in, well, Cozumel! :thumbsup2
Has anyone been to either of these? I researched that the Beach break at Playamia is not too much fun with the jelly fish and the distance of the water floats from the beach and the difficulty to get on them once you get there. With 10 and 8 year olds I am re-thinking decision. Also heard the beach at Tropicante is not soft and not so much fun to swim for kids. :crazy2:
What is everyone else doing? :scratchin

Have you joined the FB group? People have been talking about their excursions, past an future. Our kids will be 10 and 7 at cruise time. We are doing Sea Grape in grand caymen, tropicante also and paradise beach in Cozumel. PB has sea inflatables too and I believe it is around $12 for a wrist band or $2-5 for a chair.

Hi I am booked on this cruise with my family and have posted a FB request. I have never joined a thread before so am v excited. This will be our 9 th cruise with DCL :):)

I tried to get a thread going on post excursions on FB a while back WhitGB, but not too many responded! Now i think it is buried :scratchin

We got a group going now for families with kids to start to know eachother a little. Would be cool for you to join as well!:)

Anyway, do you know if there is a "Prince and Princess" themed dinner or am I imagining that I read that on DIS? I love DIS! So many unknowns for me still and this is such an awesome resource for info!
