10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

I just noticed that the semi-formal night will be on Halloween (I think)...do you think they will switch the Captain's Gala to another night or do they even acknowledge it's Halloween?

I'm not sure, but as long as I can get my lobster tail they can call it anything they want!! :thumbsup2

OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!! TOP OF THE PAGE!!

Hi all!

Because of a family wedding, we had to move our cruise from the 19th to the 26th. This means the three of us get to join all of you.

This will be our DD's first cruise (she'll be 8 months old).

We won't be doing the FE (too much baby stuff this time), but we will be at the meet.

And if anyone is interested in doing a meet up for LOs younger than 3, I'm happy to organize.

See you on FB!

Sent the FB request - it wouldn't let me add the DIS name, but my real name is Shoshana. :)

In addition to the other cruises, we were on the first Alaska last year, the Panama Canal Wonder from PC to LA, and we were on the Halloween Cruise on the Magic in 2008.

My sister and I will be joining you all and you would not believe how excited we are. It's my first cruise and I admit it, I know next to nothing about what to expect.

I can't believe I'm already planning my wardrobe for the trip....

Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Based on previous cruises, I'm going to guess that what you'll see listed for dress code on Halloween for dinner will be your choice of either costumes or semi-formal clothing - it's what they did on the Dream when Halloween was the same night as the optional dress up night.

The menu will be the same one but they usually offer a special Halloween dessert.

so Lobster tails and chocolate spiders for everyone!!!!

According to my online reservation ship activities Pirate night is scheduled for day 5, Oct 30th, Cozumel. So Pirate Night and Halloween Party will probably fall on the same night.

I will post a picture of this on FB page for all to see.

So it's going to be Lobster a la Buccaneer with Chocolatte Spiders :lmao:

Have you had one? I might need to try it!!! :dance3:

It's wonderful! Very smooth and warms you from the inside out! It was my go-to drink on the Alaska cruise last year!

I'm not sure, but as long as I can get my lobster tail they can call it anything they want!! :thumbsup2

And - tip for the day - leftover lobster tails are often grilled at the Serentiy Bay buffet when Castaway Cay day is after formal night! :thumbsup2

If there are leftovers - with me onboard, I'm guessing there won't be any leftovers :rotfl::rotfl2:

I think I have been to Castaway Cat 11 times and not seen lobster yet! Perhaps I am the one eating too much lobster!

Why would they move the Halloween party from the 31st to the 30th?

I would guess that what we'll see is:

Night 1 - 26th - Cruise Casual
Night 2 - 27th - Formal
Night 3 - 28th - Cruise Casual
Night 4 - 29th - Cruise Casual
Night 5 - 30th - Pirate Night
Night 6 - 31st - Semi Formal / Halloween
Night 7 - 1st - Cruise Casual

What I don't understand is why Disney serves their lobster with beans and rice? If you gave me a nice baked potato with sour cream and chives (and maybe a little bacon on top) and asparagus or some other nice vegetable along with the lobster tail I probably wouldn't end up eating a second anything. I won't touch the rice and bean stuff though.

Night 7 - 1st - Cruise Casual

You are right. Your itinerary is the proper one.

This doesn't have anything to do with the cruise, but I just saw it and thought I would share it . . .

Thank you for all who gave me advice as to when the Halloween party will take place. I think I've got a handle on it now!

HI, we our booked for this cruise as well. We have never done anything disney wise for Halloween and we are very excited. I just acutally upgraded our room and the ship is really starting to book up now. We have a DS that will be three weeks shy our tunring 3. Does anyone know if he might be allowed top play in the 3-12 year old clubs because its so close to his birthday?

Very cool and funny thing is I just realized last night that Monster's University will probably be playing on our cruise! (Saw an ad for it).

Oh great! I will wait to see it on board! I saw both Enchanted (on the Magic) and Brave (on the Fantasy) for the first time...

This brings me to a tip for today...

There is no concession stand by the movie theater, but you can bring in whatever you want!

We had a dismeet on the Magic (2008?) We all agreed to wait and watch Enchanted for the first time together. Linda went and got the 2 of us each a soda and then went to get us both seats. I went and got me chicken tenders and Linda 2 slices of pizza...people smelled our food as soon as I walked and 3 people (literally)yelled "HOW MUCH TIME BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTS?" I started laughing and almost dropped our food! :lmao:

Don't bank on this, but if he is potty trained I think you have a shot of him moving up...

the first time we brought food into the movie theatre I was so timid and we just grabbed some fruit and cookies.

The last movie I saw on board, I had a cheeseburger and fries as my movie time snack. :3dglasses

For our cruise I'm hoping that the movies include both Monster's University and Iron Man 3 and that they are still showing Oz. Plus some great in room movies.

Yes - I am a movie junkie and love taking the time to catch up during my vacation!

What about the plays in the Walt Disney theater ? Any new announcements ?

We have seen all of the plays and probably will focus on the new movies
