10/26/2013 - A Western Fantasy Halloween Cruise

Tip for parents: :scratchin

I think this is our third Halloween cruise. . . for the previous 2, on Halloween, they had tables filled with candy as you were walking into each of the MDR. By the time we were leaving the MDR, there was little candy left, so, it might be a good idea to have some sort of a rule before you head in as to how many pieces they can take, and when they can eat it!

I don't remember seeing the tables but our kids got lots of candy during the trick or treating so they certainly didn't need anymore! :crazy2:

I thought it was a crazy place/time to have it...maybe they wised up! :confused3

On the Dream it was also all over the buffet (especially during breakfast) - I saw more than one tantrum from parents saying "No" to candy bars in the morning.

We picked up quite a few pieces to enjoy (especially some of the US chocolate bars that either we don't get here in Canada or are more difficult to find).

On the Magic by the time we went to dinner all that was left on the candy tables were suckers - mostly yellow and green ones. It was clear that all of the "good stuff" had been taken.

We should organize some kind of adult trick or treating on board - I'm always up for candy (and maybe a mini bottle or two!). :rolleyes1

Hi, everyone! My fiancé and I will be cruising with you as well! It will be our honeymoon after getting married at the Wedding Pavilion/Grand Floridian the day before on the 25th! Neither of us have been on a Disney cruise before and we are soooo excited. I can't wait to get married, sleep at the Grand, and cruise on the Fantasy in the same trip! Already sent my request for the FB group :) (my name on Facebook is Lindsay Kate)

We did this on our last cruise... not really trick or treating but we brought chocolate or candy to our meet and greet the first day. Joh is organizing the one for this cruise. She brought Cadbury flakes and I think Curly Wurlies?? I can't remember... I didn't try those. Canada has a lot of the same stuff as the UK... I found out after our last cruise that we have Cadbury flakes too! Aero, Coffee Crisp and our Canadian Smarties are always a big hit! I usually just get a halloween combo pack and bring that.

If you are interested in signing up for the FE Exchange please visit our Facebook page (link is in post number one on the first page) and add your name and information to the master list. If you don't "do" facebook you can send me a PM with the following info - your cabin number, names of the adults, name, ages and sex of the kids and your email address. I will add you to the list and email you the spreadsheet with all the participants.

We will limit the groups to approximately 20-25 cabins per group.

Cutoff to sign up is September 14th. Final group lists will be sent at that time.

Hello everyone,

We are so excited to be joining this cruise. It will be our first Disney cruise and I can't wait!! Our dd(8) has no idea we are going and I can't wait to surprise her. We also got tickets to the MNSSHP which should be lots of fun. We went to the Christmas one and had a blast. Looking forward to meeting everyone and partake in the FE.

Char, perhaps Sian would host. She and Daniel have an 11B on Deck 7 (we might have to schedule it early on in the cruise, though, before the room becomes uninhabitable :rotfl2:)

Hahaha:rotfl:... good point! We have connecting with the kids so we were going to have people going in one and out the other. So Sian is going to play??

I just asked her. She's a bit grumpy at the moment (hangover) so wasn't too enthusiastic. I'll work on her though ;)
