Poor Jen ...

I feel your pain ... we've had problems with our basement for years (pretty much since we moved in and our house was built new). The concrete didn't cure right and the yard wasn't graded properly ... we still have cracks developing that are allowing water to seep in. We had to cancel last year's cruise to pay for a big fix, but we still have issues.

Good luck with everything - maybe it won't be as bad as you fear. :flower3:

Did you have to put in a sump pump? Or do something else?

No inconvenience at all Jeff! Just let me know the exact text you would like on it and if you want any clipart on it and I will get it done :thumbsup2

Thanks.

I'll show them to Suz and ask what she'd like. I'll shoot you a PM then.

Sorry Jen, that's pretty crappy to deal with :sad2:

Seems like everytime you guys get crappy weather, ours gets wonderful! It was PLUS 14º C the other day, I didn't even need a jacket :goodvibes

Well, at least someone's having good weather!

O.K. kids, I'm going to venture out in this crap and take DS to wrestling. I think I'd much rather play the Wii with him (that's what he's doing right now). Hopefully it isn't too bad out there. The snow is just moving east of Madison right now, so hopefully we'll get back before the snow starts.

Talk to y'all later.

Karen, your sign in done :thumbsup2 I have taken the liberty of adding some clipart to it, I hope that's ok.

I put it up on the door sign page...

Oh my goodness! - its perfect!:yay: :yay: - I love it!:yay: :yay: Thank you:hug:  - I just need magnetic paper and I'm sorted:woohoo:

Hi Nancy...

We're having the same icky weather, with the added bonus of a flooding basement. :headache:  :sad2: :sad1:

Sorry I'm such a downer today - needed to vent. :sad1:

Oh you poor things:sad2: - theres nothing worse than expensive home repairs:sad2: - hope its not to $$$$

Nancy - I soooooooo wish you had that on tape:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Brenda - how do I get to see your new "bloggy thing"? (technical term;) ) - I cant find the post that told me what to do:rolleyes1

Jeff - stay safe if you go out and everyone else who is having cr*ppy weather.

Paige - photos required of last nights party please

Cass - photos required of :cutie: please

I'm excited about my treadmill arriving - should be here by the 22ndFeb. I'll be able to do my gym workout 2 or 3 times a week and then also my treadmill each day  - I can walk and watch tv:thumbsup2

I've also decided to paint the lounge in the next couple of weeks. I've chosen the colour, just need to fetch the paint and get cracking. That always burns off a few calories up and down the ladder.

Did you have to put in a sump pump? Or do something else?

We had a sump pump installed as part of the new home construction - it's code around here for new homes.

But there have been a few times during some very bad storms where we've lost power and the pump's gone out ... let's just say that bailing water at 2AM is not my idea of a good time.

We've done everything we can to fix the yard but we're taking water from other yards, too. And of course even though we've tried to go back to the builder and get some compensation for their screw up, they're not required to fix it.

It sucks.

Karen, send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you an invite from the blog. :goodvibes

Heather and Rick, is that video done yet?

Very, very nearly. Keep your fingers crossed for the end of next week. Only thing is it's nearly and hour long and Rick is worried that it won't mean a lot to you all as it's mostly about 8 mad people from the UK.

Looks great! Sure wish I had one. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: My computer is completely frozen and I've given up until next February!!

Yeah, what happened to our snow. The only thing worse than a lot of snow is an inch or more of ICE.

We're suppose to take DS to wrestling from 3:00-5:00, but I'm not sure if I want to venture out. I will see how the drive looks and decide from there.

You know that hill into my subdivision Nancy, there is now way, even with the SUV, I will make it up that if it is covered in ice.

Might be a stay in the house day. That's good, because I still have a ton of financial statements I need to get done today.

Oh, and as for snow blowing when the snow finally gets here, I will have to go out a couple of times with the small thrower since the large one will just spin its wheels on the ice.

You should stay in. It's ugly out there!!

I agree, more pics are needed ::yes::

Nancy, I'm sure you've made a lovely design and would hate to change it but have you thought of doing a plain design, maybe something with just text so that it doesn't take up very much ink? Just a thought :confused3

No can do. I love my cover because someone very special made it Cass! (Cass made it :goodvibes ). Kristin suggested trying to print it out in black and white instead. Kinkos never called me.

That doesn't matter Heather. Do you know how many times I watched Cass's video from 2005? I wore out my dvd and she had to send me another!! :rotfl2:

I'm such a dope :sad2: I totally forgot about that.

I just looked at it and it's mostly the photo that would take up your ink. How's about I make you another one with a smaller photo and blue writing? That shouldn't take up too much ink!

Nancy, I've sent you a new CD cover by email. :thumbsup2 Good luck hun, don't give up now :goodvibes

We do not have a sump pump, but I think that's going to be part of the solution:sad2:

I can understand the bailing out part - sucking up water with the shop vac at 5 am isn't much fun either.

Well, we're getting snow instead of rain, so maybe snow will stop melting and the water won't come in....sigh...

It wasn't too bad out there, we didn't get by your house so we didn't have to see you. :lmao: Just kidding you Nancy.

Actually drove all the way to the school for wrestling and no one was there. No phone call this week like last week. :sad2:

While we were out we drove to Suz' best friends house to drop off a birthday cake for her - Red Velvet if that means anything.

Stopped at the grocery store on the way home and then tried to remove the ice from the drive. We got about a 20x30 area cleared, it started to snow and the area that I cleared the ice from already slicked up from the residual water that was there. I was fighting a losing battle so I came in.

I got it and it's great! Classic looking I must say. :thumbsup2 Thanks Sweetie!!

So where's everyone else today?

Andy was on this morning, but not since.

Haven't seen Mike or Robin, but if I remember correctly they have the granddaughter.

Lori? Tanya? Shelley? Rose?

Speaking of people who haven't been around in awhile, where AFEG and Steve lately?

Hi Nancy. I see you're still on.

Looks like the rain has moved out and it doesn't look like we'll get a lot of snow either - if any at all.

Dodge a bullet there.

Janice/Mark, how bad did you guys get hit? For everyone else, the storm was kinda stuck over them.
