I was just skimming over the Navigators, what exactly is the Pub Master Challenge??? Anyone ever play it??

Not really Cass. The idea is you take part in all the activities in the Pub and win points. At the end of the cruise, the team with the most points wins a prize.

I think I might have found something I want to do in Sint Maarten :thumbsup2

http://www.stmaartencruiseexcursions.com/LoterieFarmZipLine.htm

It's a zipline tour. Something I've always wanted to do but never got a chance. :woohoo:

They've been talking about zipline tours over on The Darkside. Not for me!

What's everyone up to this weekend? Anything fun??:wizard:

Just washed both cars and swept up outside. We have a lovely day...lots of sun and it's quite warm.

Lets get a list started then for Martini tastings and see how many are interested. I'll help organise it if no-one else volunteers, but someone else will have to call DCL for me as its too awkward with my australian accent. :)

Maybe we can mention something on the first post too once we have it organised incase new people join in.

I'll start...

Karen Mouse
Neil Mouse
GOS and Mrs GOS

Add us in Karen...wanted to do this in October, but ran out of time.

Anyone interested in wristbands again too? How about nice bright orange ones to go with Cass' logo? "I'm with Bob - Oct 24 2009"

Jeff might remember who he used from last time - they were good.

I'll start....

Karen, Neil and Ellis
Andy and Hazel
GOS and Mrs GOS

I have some laundry and I/m going to the craft store to pic up some scrapbook stuff and fabric. Sounds exciting doesn't it!

Ooo...another scrapbooker. Great:banana:  It sound fun to me..wish I was there now.

Brown sauce - we use it like a ketchup over here. The nearest I think you have is a sort of steak sauce, but not quite. A sort of spicer ketchup - dark brown in colour. Geez - I'm bad at describing:lmao:

Its lovely by us too Heather - been sunny all day. Played in the garden and went to the park and scrubbed my windowsills:rolleyes: - when we moved in there was ivy stuck to everywhere - it had even started growing inside the window frame:scared1: - its all gone now;) - scrubbed with a wire brush like a crazy person til it all came off the brickwork:lmao:

Woody is into RC cars and a dealer is coming to the hobby shop to test new cars, I think he is going to go. I have some laundry and I/m going to the craft store to pic up some scrapbook stuff and fabric. Sounds exciting doesn't it!

Woody and Neil have a lot in common - first beer now rc cars:goodvibes - He's got a storm and a savage.

Karen I would be happy to help organize. Someone just needs to send me the info.

Martini:
Karen & Neil
Shelley & Woody

Thanks for volunteering Shelley:thumbsup2 . We can sort it out nearer the time. Paige / Nancy will be able to fill you in on details:thumbsup2

I'll just keep a list of who is interested in taking part for now.

Heather I have a silly question. I was just watching the Food Network and Jamie Oliver was on talking about brown sauce on eggs. What is brown sauce?

I love swede and carrot. My grandmother used to make it. I havn't had it in years.

It's like your steak sauce...and its called HP sauce! You can get in some of your food markets.

Afternoon Karen...sorry to hear about the gain. I did the same this last week, but it's come off this week...phew!

Feeling very good! - just blitzed all three bathrooms and polished and vacuumed and tidied everywhere.

It looks lovely when its clean - I just need to ban Neil and Ellis from the house and it might stay like it for more than an hour!

What Disney animated feature was named for the musical term that means "the free development of a composition or theme?"

Well..I didn't know the answer, so had to Google it. I'll hold off till later and see if someone else gets it.

Hi Heather, I was really disappointed - I dont know why I gained either:confused3

I was really quite good this week:confused3 Oh well, I'll just keep trying:rolleyes: - I wish it was as easy to take off as it is to put on:rolleyes:

Imagine if all you had to do was eat cheesecake to get skinny:lmao: - I'd be like a stick:rotfl2:

I'd be with you there Karen...I wondered if I did too much exercise!

I'm rather bad when it comes to trivia, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say Fantasia. It's the first thing that popped into my head........:lmao:

Brenda--didn't you say the martini tasting was different from the "martini flight" at the bar?

Yes indeedy. The martini tasting was similar in stucture to the wine tasting - it was $12 per person and included four small martinis (two gin based and two vodka based) with a brief history of the drink and its recent re-emergence as a trendy beverage of choice.

The martini flight in Diversions was $15 and was five vodka based martini (smaller sized) - they were all quite tasty. There was no "class" involved in that one - it was just something the bar was offering. And at five in the afternoon after drinking a whole bottle of wine and some strawberry rum pre-sailaway drinks they went down really smoothly. ;)

I'll scare up some pictures and post them here later. I'd be happy to help plan something depending on what everyone is most interested in doing.

I'm guessing Fantasia.

Jen - Try a savory gravy to cover them, or do what Rick does and cover them in brown sauce. Stay away from cheese sauces.

Nancy - Mash = potatoes, correct but Smash is a powdered version of potato which has a lower point value. Mash swede is a root vegetable, type of orange turnip? if you've heard of that. You boil diced carrot and diced swede until soft and then mash it, then I add so powdered potato to thicken it. Does this make sense?

Nope never heard of swede but I'm certainly willing to try it. I love veggies!

Karen: FYI, I bought some Giants Boogers today just to give them another try. So far it's the only veggie I don't like. Do I just steam them, add a little salt & pepper and that's it?? I'll let you know what I thought about them.

I wanted to guess Fantasia too, but it looks like Bendy and Andy already did.

Hello ladies! Sounds like everyone has been busy today! Thanks for the info on the brown sauce. I thought that was what it was-Couldn't remember.

Neil c/o Karen :goodvibes - Woody has a Traxxes T-Max and a Savage with no motor in in right now (another reason to go to the hobby shop today  ) he is building an extended big block T-Max with a wasp.28 (whatever that is) He buys a lot of parts on ebay so at least that saves some money!
Heather I'll post my loot when I get back. I havn't been in a few months so it usually means an expensive trip! :rotfl2:

Nancy and Chuck
Tony & Stacy
Kristin & Jesse

Far Out!! :)

This was $15 ... and believe it or not we shared it. ;)

I think there was a Citron martini, a blue curacao martini, a toberlone martini (when you care enough to drink the very best!) and a strawberry martini. There's one I can't remember, but it was still tasty.

Yes, either steam or boil them with a little salt. They do taste lovely with a little crispy bacon broken over them and then tossed in a teeny bit of butter.

Good luck on your boogers Nancy:goodvibes - I love them!

If you dont like them - dont bin them - keep them, mash them up and fry them in a little butter with other veggies like caulifower, carrots etc - bubble and squeek! - delicious

This was $12 per person and was held in Sessions on "at sea" days. We liked it for the history lesson but not so much for the two gin martinis. GACK! Can someone give me a bucket so that I can spit it out???

BTW - I apologize for my being in this picture, but it's the only one we have of the martini tasting. Again, there was a traditional gin martini (with olive), another gin martini, a chocolate martini, and a watered down version of a lemon-citron martini.

I'd like to see if we could customize a martini tasting for the group. In other words, if no one is interested in gin martinis, then let's see if we can put together a tasting of say ... six vodka martinis for the B.O.Bs. It might cost a bit more but everyone might find the gathering more enjoyable (and tasty).

Just a thought ... we've got plenty of time to work it out because DCL won't even discuss it wth anyone for at least another year.
