Hey Cass and Robin,

Cass - I did email DU and I am waiting back to hear from them. I got one of the "We are really busy right now bear with us" emails. Hopefully maybe tomorrow I will hear something back.

Thanks Becky! :goodvibes

I better get done what I set out to do in the first place.

Clean up my desktop on my pc and put some workout songs on my IPOD.

Later everyone.

Happy Workouts :dance3:

I just put some awesome new tunes on my ipod to workout to. It's nice having a DJ for a husband, he's got like 800 CD's :woohoo: :goodvibes

Yeah, no doubt! Even if it's just a nice little surprise waiting in our stateroom :rolleyes1 On our first DCL cruise, we had a group status ressie and we got the Castaway Crate that had the BEST pretzels I have ever tasted! :thumbsup2

So I have a question...

Does everyone in your party get a Castaway Club ID number??? I already have mine from 2 cruises ago but in the mail Friday was the DCL packet addressed to KIRA and had a CC card in her name with a different CC number than mine :confused3

So they sent the Survival Kit to a one-year old and not to the two adults :lmao:

Yay another West Coaster! My name is Becky, my husband is Sean (who is a Deputy Sheriff). I found this group last year and they are awesome and welcoming people. Please post as often as you can, and Welcome!:welcome:[/QUOTE]

Hi Becky! Yup, we're west coasters, too! Seems like we've got a lot in common, but you must be braver than I teaching middle school! :worship:

:welcome: :welcome:
Hi Sheri - I'm Karen, travelling with hubby Neil and DS Ellis age 9 when we travel. We're from Birmingham, England so excuse my wierd "english" sense of humour from time to time.:rolleyes1

Like others have said - we chat A LOT! - just jump in anywhere - dont feel obliged to read 50 pages of waffle:rotfl2:

Hi Karen! Thanks for the warm welcome!

Good Sunday Morning Crew.........

Nothing better than Mickey pancakes for breakfast!

It's not really a teachers' "week", rather a two day convention on the last Thur/Fri of October. All the schools in WI are closed those 2 days. You will need to book airfare early as it fills up quickly, especially all the Orlando flights (what's funny though is that the Las Vegas flights fill up too - must be some teachers taking off for the weekend as well and not going to the convention). What a lot of parents do up here is take the kids out for the other 3 days that week. This way, you have a one week vacation that only costs the children 3 days of school and it is not over a holiday when it tends to be busy in WDW.

Which excursion did you do on the Eastern that you liked? I've been on the Eastern twice already and have done the St. Thomas island tour (along with going to Meghan's Bay on our own) and then the second time doing the St. John island tour, but this time we want to get to Trunk Bay (I'll have to post my pictures again - beautiful).

Our schools don't do that type of teacher week. For us, our time off during the year are scattered so we just take the kids out of school when we want to go on vacation and have them do the work they miss. Life is too short and my boys have grown up too quickly to worry about what the District tells me is okay! Plus, I'm a mean mom! I actually want the work done before we leave so I make them do it before we go! Who wants to tote text books in luggage and take away space for my CC souveniers! :teacher:

As far as the excursions on the Eastern cruise, we did do them in every port. In St. Maarten we did the dolphin excursion. It was just okay. My first time through college I studied marine biology and I really wanted a lovely dolphin experience. This wasn't it. It was okay, but not what I expected for the hefty price tag.

The excursion we loved was at St. Thomas-pirate: The Doubloon Snorkel tour! From the moment the cruise operators picked us up, until waaaayy after they dropped us off, it was nothing but fun, laughter, great snorkeling, and painkillers (a fruity adult beverage they give you after you snorkel and refill, refill, refill)! DH, Pat, enjoyed the painkillers so much on the Doubloon that he made us go back to their portside shop and get a few more, then he went back later on his own, "to buy t-shirts for other friends we'd forgot!" He came back to our room and said he thought he needed a nap-Duh! He ended up waking up about 10pm! The excursion ended at noon!

We got to snorkel at a sanctuary with a lot of wildlife. Many sea turtles that were very friendly, wild stingray, a coral reef with many examples, and some conch. But the staff of the Doubloon was just fabulous! They learned all our names, tattooed all of us (temporary-but it allows you more painkillers free in the shop!), and they played with the kids and let them stear the ship. It was so much fun that when we planned another cruise my family wanted to do the Eastern again.

Sheri, FYI...this thread was nicknamed "Bash on the Boat" (thanks Brenda) and then shortened to B.O.B. (I believe I did that). Then Heather (from England) came up with the slogan "I'm with B.O.B.". I stole an image from another thread for our siggie lines, and Rachel (Cheryl's daughter) tweeked it to be the perfect logo. Feel free to copy it into your siggie line if you want.
(Jeff, can you post a link to it in your introduction post on page one plz?)

Then, I'll also explain the FO's you'll see. FO=Fresh One (Chris from England, AFEG came up with that game). If you have the first post on a fresh page, you must claim it immediately on the second post of the same page. If someone else get's the second post instead of you, you've been "BOBbed". :rotfl2: Be careful, there are some "Master BOBbers" out there.:rotfl2: It's just a little game we play.

Anyway, enjoy your new home away from home with us.:cutie:

I understand the FO concept, but how do you claim it? :confused3

:flower3: You are such a warm and friendly bunch! Thanks for your kindness!:grouphug:

Hmm, well that makes sense! But Kira has a completely different number than mine and Rob doesn't even have one :confused3 Weirdsville.

Short break news:

We're booked to sail on the inaugral cruise for The Indepence of the Seas on May 2nd with The Fat Man (Dave) and Bev, Nicola and James. It's only a 4 day cruise saiing to Cork, Ireland, but we're looking forward to it.

Need to shift those lbs that I've gained over xmas.

Sounds like fun, Heather. Great pic of you two; Happy New Year!:)

We all have separate numbers, but I think I only got cards for a couple of us. I received the numbers after emailing DCL. I bet Rob has a number; you just may have to email DCL to get it.:thumbsup2

After our first cruise in 2003, out of the six of us that went together, Hazel was the only one who received a CC card in the mail. Hazel called DCL and got the rest of our numbers over the phone. Just this past Spring, all six of us received new CC cards.

Welcome, Sheri! I'm Paige and my DH Rob and I will be sailing without the kids this go around. We live in Virginia, about 30 minutes south of DC. We're orginally from Louisiana; Rob's in the Marine Corps and I'm my kids' taxi driver....

I have never received the new cards. i have called a few times and they assure they are on the way. i have our old cards from 8 years ago but I've never noticed if Scott's number is different from mine.

You got this one!;) But you didn't tell me how to claim it!

Hi Sheri, if you have the first post on a new page, in order to claim an FO, you need to quickly make another post and it has to be the second post on that page and claim it as an FO. If someone gets the second post on the new page, your FO is then blocked, or BOB'ed as it is now being called.

Cass, Chuck and I got our cards right after the 05' cruise and they had different numbers at the end. Then last spring we both received new cards with the same id numbers as our old ones. Then in 07' all four kids got their cards. Tony and Stacy got theirs in one packet because they live together but Jesse and Kristin each got separate packets. Weird that Rob never received one at all. :confused3

Just in case I really stick with my New Years Resolution and exercise in the morning rather than DISing, I'd like to wish:

party: :bday: :cake: Happy Birthday to my Charlie Tuna!:cake: :bday: party:
