Lori, do you do the excursion through DCL or on your own.

We did it through Disney. It makes me nervous to go over the St John and try to get back just in case something would happen. I know people that do it but I would rather be guaranteed that the ship won't leave me!:thumbsup2 Another problem for me though is Disney has such high ages for their excursions, so we will be limited because Harrison will only be 4.

I just saw this on the Discovery Health channel. Dr. Oz says the average person only puts on 1 lb. over the holidays. hmmmm.

I guess I'm ok... i didn't gain anything. whew!

But that seems like an awful low average...:confused3

I figured, I saw the word crohn's... not a fun thing to deal with. :sad1:

Actually I'm the one who has the Crohns which is why it's such a shocker that Jason ended up sick in October. Usually I'm the one who gets to ruin our vacations. ;)

Just kidding - he didn't ruin vacation at all; it was just such a bummer to see him feeling so cruddy while we were at WDW. I felt like such a cow every time I said, "I'm hungry." :guilty:

Re: Mike...
The Dr. at the hospital said it may take a couple of days for it to go away. I don't think he will be going to work tonight.

His car is still at his Mom's house. From the looks of things, we're not going to need it for a little while. Poor guy. :sad2:

Here's hoping he starts feeling better soon. :flower3:

I went all the way back to page 203 to find the Pomegranite juice posts but couldn't find anything. I love POM!! I did buy the straight juice last week for almost $6.00 and wanted to read someone's hints on diluting it with H20.

Cheryl? Becky? I think it was one of you. Help Plz?:)

I posted earlier about diluting with water. I usually do one part pom juice and 5 parts water. I am still experimenting though. I like cranberry juice this way, too.
:thumbsup2

I'm excited for the eastern excursion. It is so pretty there. I better start doing my excursion homework. :woohoo:

The input from others is a big help. (We can learn the do's and don'ts) :thumbsup2

I'm with ya on that one Lori. I will only book Disney excursions myself. It's worth a few more bucks for the security. We almost missed the ship in Cozumel in October. Our Dune Buggy excursion lasted longer than usual and we ended up running back to the ship. We got on right before the doors closed. We were supposed to have time to shop in Coz after the excursion but it ran 2 hours later. I asked the CM at the door if they would've left without us and they assured me that they wouldn't since it was a Disney excursion we were booked on. (Then why were they closing the doors?)
We sailed away about 15 minutes later after a few announcements for other MIA's.

1 pound? I can name that tune in 1 hour over the holidays. :sad2: Maybe he meant 1 pound a day? :rotfl2:

Cranberry juice would be good. Plain water gets rather tiresome.

Where do you begin with the homework? We've only cruised once and we just waited until Dis posted what would be available.

And didn't you have a visit by a tapeworm that week too? I recall you being ravenous all week.:goodvibes

Great idea Tanya. Maybe I won't grumble so much about spending $6.00 on a beverage. (Although, you never hear me grumble about spending over $4.00 for a single Starbucks Latte, do you?) :lmao:

I  water with lemon or lime. I've also tried it with an orange slice. Not too bad.

The DCL book, "The Passporter" is a big help. Make sure you get the "Official Guide". And it's fun to read while you're waiting for the time to pass. ;)

It gives you some nice tips. That, along with tips from other disers is a big help.

Here's another Lo-Cal dessert that I love:

One tart sized graham cracker pie crust.
One container of FF, SF Chocolate pudding.
One TBL Cool Whip.

Only 4 WW points and Y-U-M-M-O!!!

Hi Karen and Chris! Come talk to me.:cutie:

I really like lemon and lime, too. I'll have to try the orange slice. :thumbsup2

And I like all of the above better than those flavored waters. They are just too sticky sweet.:sad2:

What's been going on?
I saw a post about a group rate...
I guess I have some catching up to do.

I wasn't even on here yesterday.
We spent part of the day in the emergency room yesterday.

Mike has been painting his parent's ceiling while they are in Fla. He came home Thurs. saying he was a little dizzy. I said, "Then you better not go over there tomorrow until you feel better"

Of course, he went anyway... I called him from work and he said he was done, but felt really dizzy and had some shortness of breath. (He had been laying on the floor as the room spinned.) He said he was going to drive home. I said, "You can't drive when you're dizzy." After a while, it didn't get any better, so I left work and picked him up, then took him to the emergency room.

After a few tests...
They said he has vertigo caused by a virus. The shortness of breath is due to his pacemaker. (needs tweeked)

So he was tossing his cookies most of the night. :sad1:
The nausea is gone now, but the dizziness hasn't gotten any better.

They said it would take a couple of days before it goes away.

Hope Mikes feeling better Robin.

Hello all!

I just switched our reservation to your cruise date! It will be our 3rd DCL vacation (we disembarked from the Magic one year ago today :sad2: ) and although it will be a longer wait, we are all excited to be joining in your fun! ;)

I'm Sheri-Kindergarten teacher, mom to sons Dakota and Austin (17 and 15 at the time we sail), and wife to Pat, a sergeant with our local Sheriff's office.

We live in Northern Nevada and are in the midst of a great snow storm!

I recognize some of your Dis-names and am looking forward to getting to know you! On our last Eastern it was really fun to recognize people from the Disboards that I'd been chatting with for months!

Welcome - I'm Heather and my DH is Rick. We're flying over from England and as everyone else said, just jump right in. At the moment, most of us are workig on loosing weight after the Chistmas.

We may try for a St. John's excursion this time when the ship is docked in St. Thomas - Jay likes to snorkel and I've heard the water is just incredible over there since the island is national park.

We're going to try St John this time Brenda and it will be our first visit to St Maartin.

Heather

My room is as well, and I think Steve is with DU. I'm going to email them just to get the info on what we can do.

Have you emailed them yet Becky? I was going to do the same thing! Let us know what they say :thumbsup2

Cass, also my sister's room and my dad's room are now under DU. So there a 3 rooms just with my family.

Yeah, I thought you had all your cabins booked with Dreams, let's hope we can get something ::yes::

Oh no, vertigo is not fun! My dizzy spells have been getting less frequent but they are such a pain! Give Mike a big hug from the crazy Canucks  Tell him to smarten up and take care of himself better :rolleyes1

I used a couple songs on the video that really set the tone, "In My Daughter's Eyes" and "You Raised Me Up" listening to those two songs, while looking at all the pics was just too much, but it's something I've wanted to do for quite sometime now. I hadn't planned on doing it today, but after we took down the Christmas Tree and all the other decorations, I just started looking through old photos, the next thing I knew several hours had passed and the video was finished.........:goodvibes

Yeah, the music just kills you huh? It's bad enough when you are just watching a video like that but when the right music plays, it's tough!

Hi Sheri, welcome aboard! :welcome: I'm Cass, the token Canadian in this group of B.O.B.'s (so far!) married to Rob (sometimes posts as Darkrobe) together with our little princess Kira we cruised with this gang in October 2007. Kira will be staying home with family for the 2009 cruise as she will be just under 3 and probably not potty trained, therefore, not allowed to join the clubs or enter the Mickey Pool. However, if there is a KK3, she will surely be joining us for that one :thumbsup2 Looking forward to spending more time with the KKers (now BOBers ;) ) this time :thumbsup2

We started planning Stacy's shower yesterday too. Anyone have any great ideas for games? (I, myself, hate playing shower games  ).

Nancy, I don't think anyone likes playing those shower games LOL! The one I had, which wasn't tooooo bad was where you get a list of questions to ask the bride. (you can come up with any questions you want) and ask the groom those questions beforehand and right the answers down and then during the shower, you ask the questions to the bride but she has to answer what SHE thinks the groom has answered as well as her honest answers. That way you put the bride on the spot and the guests don't have to participate but are entertained  Clear as mud? :lmao:

Where do you begin with the homework? We've only cruised once and we just waited until Dis posted what would be available.

You can check out the DCL site, they have current excursions listed for all their ports.

Here are the St Thomas excursions:

They might change them a little for our cruise but it will give you a good start! :thumbsup2
