There is not a woman alive today who won't crack up over this!

I was due for a smear with the doctor later in the week. Early one morning, I received a call from the doctor's office to tell me that I had been rescheduled for that morning at 9:30 am. I had only just packed everyone off to work and school, and it was already around 8:45 am. The trip to his office took about 35 minutes, so I didn't have any time to spare.

As most women do, I like to take a little extra effort over hygiene when making such visits, but this time I wasn't going to be able to make the full effort. So, I rushed upstairs, threw off my pyjamas, wet the facecloth that was sitting next to the sink, and gave myself a quick wash in that area to make sure I was at least presentable. I threw the facecloth in the clothes basket, donned some clothes, hopped in the car and raced to my appointment.

I was in the waiting room for only a few minutes when I was called in. Knowing the procedure, as I'm sure you do, I hopped up on the table, looked over at the other side of the room and pretended that I was in Paris or some other place a million miles away. I was a little surprised when the doctor said, "My, we have made an extra effort this morning, haven't we?"

I didn't respond.

After the appointment, I heaved a sigh of relief and went home. The rest of the day was normal - some shopping, cleaning, & cooking.

After school when my 7 year old daughter was playing, she called out from the bathroom, "Mummy, where's my facecloth?"

I told her to get another one from the cupboard.

She replied, "No, I need the one that was here by the sink, it had all my glitter saved inside it."

NEVER going back to that doctor ever!!

Just think of this next time you go for a smear

What can I say?? Absolutely hilarious--sounds like Shopaholic or Bridget Jones!!

Just booked this cruise and would like to join in with the group. I've been reading and learning so much these past few months while deciding whether to take the leap. Since I decided to go for it and book a cruise s i x t e e n long months away, I thought it would be nice to start getting to know some of the people who will be on the ship with me. I will be alone on this cruise (unless of course something changes between now and then) and while I don't mind being alone it would be really nice to have someone I already know on the ship. I have never done any type of forum before so if I do or say something I shouldn't please let me know. I will continue to watch this forum with much interest.

Good morning people:goodvibes

Its sunny here this morning but heavy rain is due later.

1000 things to do on my "to do" list today - most of them big jobs and I dont feel like doing any of them:rolleyes1

Was very good yesterday at the gym - 2 hard classes and swam 16 lengths.
Really trying to drop another 5-6 lb before Greece - 3 1/2 weeks.

On Friday it will be exactly 1 year sionce we moved into our new home:goodvibes - I'm buying the house a first birthday card:goodvibes

Jen -

You were asking about clothing whilst in the sun - we bought Ellis' from Old Navy. They were real cheap compared to the proper surf shops and websites but just as efficiant. Walmart etc might have them in too.

We liked Columbia House the couple of times we went there. We sat in the part that is over the walk way from Liberty Square to Fantasyland. Great for people watching. I liked the fact they had clam chowder.
CHH is our favorite counter service in all the WOrld!!!

Hi Jen--

I got some rash guards for my two boys last year from Land's End--I also saw some at Toys R' Us this spring with Lightening McQueen on them! Have a great time in Door County--check a winery or two, o.k.? :thumbsup2

Victoria!!! Hi!!! Long time no see, don't be such a stranger 'round here!

This will be my third year going up to Door County, and haven't been to a winery yet, can you believe it? I've always had Thomas with me the whole time.

This year, DH gets to go too, and Grandma will be there, so I'm going to use whatever bribery is needed so Pete and I can sneak off to a winery alone. Any recommendations?

I did find one rash guard at Target, but I saw the ones at Land's End also, and I might order one. They have a bright yellow one (DS's fave color) so I might order it since I have a free shipping code! :cool1:

I got on the computer to check the weather, but the mouse clicked on the DIS first...funny how that happens!

Gotta get ready for work...I'll have to finish catching up later!

Welcome :welcome: :welcome: :welcome: I'm Heather and my DH is Rick. 16 months is plenty of time to get to know us all.

   Just found out as I was getting ready to leave work that our contract was signed today!!! We are getting a 4% raise this year and 3.5% raise next year. Our retroactive checks going back to January 1, 2008 will be handed out in the next week or two.

We were trying for another 3 year contract, but the Township Administrator would only give us a two year contract this time around. This is a new administrator that just started for the township last year. With our former administrator, we were always able to work out 3 year contracts. I'm not going to complain though, at least we have a contract for the next two years, meaning a better pension for when I retire!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Congrats Andy. Our lot are going on strike after only being offered 2.5%. The fuel tanker drivers got offered 14%...so you can see why their going on strike.

Ok, I know y'all are probably tired of my questions, but please bear with me. For our trip next month, we will be on the DDP for most of it, but for a few days we are out of pocket. We will probably only eat one meal in the parks/resorts and it'll probably be CS. Do any of you have opinions as to the most reasonably priced CS restaurants? Rob, the kids, and I are fine eating hamburgers, hot dogs, fries, etc......I am just trying to save a few bucks on these few days.

How about the Columbia Barbour House in Magic Kingdom. Great place for Fish and Chips.

Never tired of your questions, lady!

Columbia Harbor House in the MK is pretty good ... they have fish and chips, chicken strips, and one of the few remaining tuna sandwiches on property (and it's a good one, too!).

Ooops, shouldv'e read on. Lots of people recommending this

Just in case you need reminding of the benefits of DVC

What I like most about the pay increase is what it will do for my pension. With this new 2 year contract, my monthly pension will increase by a minimum of $200 @ month and that is just fine and dandy with me!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
