I know this is early but I wanted to let everyone know that I'm planning a F&W meet with some of my friends on the restuarant boards. Nothing is set in stone yet, but a group of us are planning on being in WDW 10/16 - 10/24.

You Bobers are more than welcome to join in on the fun ... but be warned: it's a bunch of freaks like Jay and me who like to eat and like to drink. :thumbsup2

Seriously, it's a very fun and friendly group of DISers! :goodvibes

I am hoping to be there a day early at least.....

Excellent! There's only going to be one time that we all meet up simultaneously, but I'm sure we'll stagger into one another as the week unfolds. We're all addicted to the Food and Wine Festival so we'll mostly be at Epcot.

Sistah P, the man and I would love to give you and Rob and your friends a World Showcase tour if you'd like. No pressure ... we could meet for a drink ... or we could meet on the ship the next day when you and Rob look at each other and quietly say, "Why did we ever agree to share a table with these drinkers?" :rotfl2:

We've never done F&W because of the kids, so I really want to go since they'll be home. We would love a tour! Our friends and we also love to (over)indulge in both food and wine (or beer, or girlie drinks...)

B--I was just reading the guest review on your blog. I know the writer didn't like the sugary drinks, but I thought they looked delicious! The oolong tea and the multi-colored margarita made my mouth water. I would love to taste Japanese plum wine as well. I had pear wine when we lived in Japan, and that was mighty tasty.

Well, I'm off to find the deodorant....and to read the WDW parks/resorts/restaurants boards.......

I am impressed two FO in two days. love ya Diane

Not quite, but almost Diane.

You have to have the first post on the new page, and then you claim the FO in the second post as long as no one beats you to the second post.

I need help. I would like honest answers please. I am thinking of leaving target. Alot of reasons but I do feel that I am worth more then $8.32 an hour specailly after being their two years.

I am thinking of going back to cleaning houses for more then just one client this time. My one client last time was a special situation and she paid me really well. So I am trying to get some research info.

Question is: If you were to hire someone to do just your house work what would you be willing to pay an hour?
How much would you be willing to pay to have someone do your laundry (not iron)?
How much would you pay for a pooper scooper 1 time a week?
How much would you be willing to pay for light landscaping work?

Any info would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if this will really help or not, but when we go away one of Hazel's sisters comes to our house to feed the cat and clean the litter box once a day. We give her sister 10.00 a day. Her sister only lives a few minutes from us(less than 2 miles), and is probably here about 10-15 minutes at the most. At first Hazel's sister wouldn't take any $$ from us, but we told her we would be paying more in we put the cat in the kennel and we made her take the money.

Thank you. I have been pet sitting for 2 different familys on a regular basis one more then the other. Soon to be three. However, I do it out of the kindness of my heart and in hopes that they will dog sit for us when we need it.
One house was just a small dog that I needed to let out in the morning and feed, and then let back in the house at night and feed again.
The other one is two dogs, with a self feeder, and water. Just go over to play with the dogs. As a matter of fact I am dog sitting for them this weekend and they have added another dog. We got over 2 times a day for about an hour each time and play with them.
The third is just a swap out, she watched our dog when we went to DL so we are watching her one dog, and 7 cats while they go to DL.
I really do not know about litter boxes, or dog poo for that matter, the sight of it makes me sick to my stomach but if it pays good I will do it.

Carrie have you ever thought of registering with a temporary agency? When I was in college I used to get a ton of work through Kelly Girl ... filing projects, receptionist positions, research projects. The nice thing about a temp agency is that you don't have to take everything they offer you. If something didn't sound appealing or was too far from home I would turn it down and tell them what I was looking for.

I would think in the current market that a lot of companies would be more interested in temporary workers until they can expand their budgets. Our budget has been frozen since last Fall ... I'd kill for a temp even part-time to take care of all the administrative crap we deal with.

Just throwing that out for consideration.

If you enjoy house cleaning, you could make big bucks, IMHO. My mom has a house that is about 2500 Sq Ft, and she used to pay $50 a week to get her house cleaned. "Ms. Alice" would do all the house work (no laundry) and hose down the carport and patio. Then she would take one room per week and "spring clean" it. It took her a half day to get it done. This is in Louisiana (rural area) and she was paid in CASH. I am sure in other parts of the country the cost would have been more, depending on the cost of living. Hope this helps. :)

Are you saving so you can join us all on BoB?:goodvibes

I was just listening to the podcast and they said you still don't need a passport for the cruise but it is highly recommend ::yes::

Sue Ellen's email is:
sueellen@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

I don't think there is a site that shows the actual cabin numbers but you can go to disneycruise.com and ask for a specific cabin and it will tell you if it's available or not :thumbsup2

thanks cass.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :worship: :worship:

I have completly forgot about them. I did register with a few oh say about 8 years ago. I got told by all of them I was not qualified because I did not have office experience. I only had about 6 month of it and that was not enough. All of my experience has been in retail and restuarants. I wonder if that would still apply now.

I just spoke to Scott and he said the house cleaning thing sounds like a good idea to work on my days off from Target or around Targets hours. So for now that might be what I do. I am still thinking.

Thanks for the info. I love cleaning house. I am very OCD. I love organizing and makes me really proud to see my work when I am done.

I wish we were saving to join you all on BOB, unfortunatly that will not be happening. We have gotten ourselves into a very bad financial position. We were doing good until my mother got ill in April of 06. We were down to 2 credit cards left to pay off and they were both half way there. But because I did not work the whole month of April and part of May we had to start using cards again. I had to put three car payments and 2 mortgage payments on them. That maxed out both of those cards and part of another one. Well then of course I was not home to cook so we were eating out everynight on cards. Cards are a really bad habbit to get hooked on. Needless to say we have since maxed out 6 cards and on the way to our last card being maxed. Alot of this year has been medical in our family that has added up. We also have our second mortgage thanks to the attorneys for court cases so that is a big damper for us.
I told Scott no more use of the credit cards and we really need to work on paying them off. I have 3.5 years left on my van and then that will open up a lot of cash flow but that is to far away.
Right now we just have to concentrate on making ends meet each month. If I can pick up house cleaning on the side of Target it might work for awhile.

Thanks for thinking of us though.
