Hi all,

Too quick of a week end. Got some pool time in between thunder storms.

Good luck Andy and stay stong.

DH was stuck with me today DS # 1 had to work a double and # 2 is off doing the Airforce thing. So he had to cook his own steak. They were yummy..

Have a great week end all.

I just got the 3 of us booked on Southwest for our 8-31 stay at OKW. I think I made out quite well and got us RT airfare for $447.00 total. I don't think we could drive down and back, with gas, lodging and food for that price. I can get us ME from MCO to OKW, we will be staying a couple extra days at our Florida home after checking out at OKW, so I will either rent us a car, or see if I can use my mom's car for those couple of days.

I was going to see about flying in a day early on 8-30, but I found out this afternoon that my niece Teri is giving her sister VJ a Baby Shower that day and Hazel and Lina both want to go to the Baby Shower.

Howdy There Steve........

Hi Andy. You and your Daughter look great in those pics! Congrats to her.

I just received the following e-mail message a few moments ago from DVC Member Services. :thumbsup2

Hello Andy,

Thank you for contacting Member Services.

We have confirmed the following reservation:

DISNEY'S OLD KEY WEST Resort

Vacation Home Type:
Studio

Arrival: Sunday August 31, 2008

Way Cool! I really want to go back to WDW!

Here's an update with our family...

Just got back from DL. It was a one day last minute trip because Disney sent us an invitation to ride their new ride in DCA before they opened it to the public (Toy Story Midway Mania) and I just happen to have the day off. We had a blast and found the new ride to be extrememly fun.
We'll be back in August to celebrate Stuart's Birthday.

My brother, Rick graduated from the nursing program and I got a happy call from him when he passed his boards. I expected to talk to him about our plans for next year's cruise now that he would be employed with a higher paying job, but he had even happier news: his wife had been accepted into the nursing program, which meant that he would need to cancel his cruise next year. It's kinda a bummer, but it will give Laura and I more time to spend with y'all.

Stuart's second half of first grade was much smoother than the first and we are really looking forward to him starting second grade with a different teacher.

Leah surprised me the other day with teaching herself how to write her own name (she'll be 4 in July and has not been to childcare or preschool so I was pretty proud of her drive!)

Laura and I have just finished a remodel of our family room which we've been working on for about a year. It was a great room before and we have made it ever so much better. Time to rest until next year when I decide to tackle the master bathroom.

Andy, $149 each is a really good price round trip. Good Job.

!!!$447!!! for the 3 of you! That's fantastic! I'll be lucky if I don't pay that per person x 4 next year! good job!

O.K., gotta run and get the pizza, I'll be back on in about 45 minutes (Suz won't let me DIS while eating  ).

I know, when I saw the price come up, I jumped at making the ressie. I also liked what I saw on SW home page about "No Surprise Fees" like other airlines are starting to charge. :thumbsup2

I figured "if" and that's a big "IF" gas is till around $4.00 @ gallon and we usually have three gas stops each way, plus add in 2 nights lodging(1 night each way), our food and snacks, it probably comes in more than the $447.00

I just booked us on ME from MCO to OKW, so that is taken care of. Now I just have to wait the next 76 days for our next flight south.........;)

Sounds like you had a great Father's Day at DL Steve...........:thumbsup2

I'm back, but it looks like everyone left. Hope all the Dads had great fathers' days.

I had to go to the "outlaws" this morning for breakfast and then just relaxed most of the afternoon. We went to see Narnia at about 4:30. Good flick. DS loved it.

"Grandma" (Suz' really good friend from Vegas) leaves tomorrow. Can't believe how fast 17 days went by.

DS strats at the new camp tomorrow morning. Hope he likes it. He is looking forward to it.

I'll try to find time this week to check back in.

Hi everyone!

I was on here awhile ago and ran out of posts to read. I went over to the DCL general forum and read for a bit.

I ran across a thread asking "What 1 thing would you change about DCL? (Of course, many people had more than one thing! Answers were about the ships, Castaway Cay, and DCL processes.)

So, I decided I'd put some fun into it:

What is your favorite thing on the ships? (or Castaway Cay) and What 1 thing would you like to change?

One thing I'd change - mini golf on the ship! :cool1:

Like the best - atmosphere on the ship (everyone is - usually - having a great time and all the "family" feelings you see as well as feel yourself)

I just got back from picking Lina up from a friend's house.

Hey Jeff! Mini-golf does sound cool. But I can just see a problem with not "throwing" (or putting?) objects off the ship! Or maybe a golf-ball flying through the air??:duck:

I also realize I didn't give my answer: One suggestion from the other thread that would REALLY help: bigger clocks near the pool!

What I really like? Hard to say, but probably the whole package: fun and relaxation for everyone. But, if I had to pinpoint one thing: the attention paid to the kids by the kids clubs and the entertainment staff. Awesome!

Thing I would change: I would like to be able to see our onboard balance from our stateroom. This was a feature on another "funship";) and it was really nice.

Thing that I love: NO CASINO, same scenario on the "funship" and walked past the casino and thought I was going to have an asthma attack from all the smoke.:smokin: :(
