You must tell us what his reaction was, Jeff.

I know Suz wants to get some info on the Canal to give him and we have the Discovery Channel's show on the Canal as well.

We'll probably have him watch that first, then show him the Magic going through it this month, and then tell him we're going on it.

Hopefully he'll be as excited as Suz and I were/are.

Hello Disgrits! I work at Dulles Airport. Our USO club is fairly new. It's pretty nice though. Many of the companies working on the massive Dulles construction donated craftsmen and materials to help build the club. My family lives in Bristow just south of Manassas.

I take the 66 route to work. Not too bad at the time of day that I drive.

I'm home today taking care of DD 8 who got a real bad sunburn at Castaway Cay on Saturday. Her shoulders bubbled up and blistered. I swear, we put SPF 50 on her! :guilty: Obviously not often enough though. I escaped the worst of it by wearing a t-shirt and hat all day.

Small world! Yes, Rob has said how nice the USO in the airport is!

Wouldn't it be great if the Metro went all the way out there?

You're not that far from us--We're at exit 150 on I 95. Didn't we have the most beautiful weather yesterday?

Good Moring all,

haven't caught up yet on all these pages. The week end went so fast. I hope that was our first and last trip to Arkansas.

Did a 4.4 mile walk.run yesterday. It's on the base and you drop a flower on the war memorial. They had bag pipes playing. It was kind of teary. Hot and humid but it was a nice walk.

The wedding went well. Teared up a little- not ready for the friends of my kids getting married... Scott looked so good in his tux. It was a Church of Christ wedding, so there was no drinking and no dancing......... It was a quick wedding and a dinner. No much of a celebration. Us catholics must look like a bunch of partying fools to them.....

Had a few folks over for swimming and food yesterday. One girls husband is deployed right now so we try to keep her kids busy and give her a break.

Have a very short week this week, Leaving for WDW Thursday afternoon. So I have so much work to do. Let me know if I miss anything important please.

Have a great Tuesday.

Poor thing! I hope she is better soon. I know how much pain that is!

We are south of you in Richmond. My parents are a bit closer to you. They are in Bowling Green.

Hi Joanne! Glad you had a safe trip. How long are you guys in Disney?

Joanne, please forgive me if this a repeat question.. I think I asked and you answered but my memory is not so good. Is your DH in the Navy?

Shelley, I see that you are staying at BWV in a few days. You've stayed there before, correct? I just this morning changed our Christmas ressies from SSR to BWV and I was wondering if you have any tips for me? We are staying in a standard view room to save on points.

The metro is coming. That's our big focus now that we are within sight of finishing our underground train system (it will replace the mobile lounges). We are still overcoming some political hurdles, but we estimate 2013 - 2015 for completion of the metro to Dulles. :bitelip:

Thanks. Her shoulders are looking a bit better this morning. Yesterday it was freaking me out a little because of the size and concentration of the blisters. I was planning to take her to the pediatrician today, but my DW (nurse) talked to a doctor at work. He said to apply neosporin and keep the area clean. Not too much else to do. Thankfully the sunburn isn't worse.

We just stayed at BWV last week for one night before the cruise. We also stayed in a Standard View room. We overlooked the "Clown Pool" with some trees in the way. All in all not a bad view. It was our first stay at BWV. We have been DVC Members since 1993 at OKW and more recently BCV.

I liked our 3rd Floor Room. Try to get near the elevators. There is no noise, and you have less walking to and from. Other than that, see what kind of view you can get of the pool.

Yep! We stay there every chance we get. Ask for a room close to the elevators. Not sure if you have ever stayed at the Boardwalk but the building is really long and it can take forever to get to your room! We timed it one day and at a nice walk it took us 15 min to get back to the lobby!! :faint: We were down beside Atlantic Dance in a standard room. You also don't have a lot available for breakfast or a quick snack so we usually will go to the store and get bagels and things for the villa. Boardwalk bakery is nice but it gets crazy busy in the morning! The Epcot resorts are my favorite! Esp. at Christmas!!

The main thing is to let it dry out on its own. Not to cover it or the skin will take longer to heal. And above all tell her not to peel the skin off!! Let it fall off on its own. You don't want to be peeling fresh skin along with the dead.

Thanks for the advice about the elevators!

We are staying at OKW this July and can't wait. We bought in to DVC last year, but haven't gotten to use our points until this summer.

This reminds me of when we were teens and we'd bake in the sun with cooking oil on our skin and peel it off a week later. How could we be so stupid? It itched so much that peeling it off was the only way to get relief.:( I now use sunscreen and my children so to, but yesterday, Derek got a sunburn at the pool (shoulders). It's not too bad, but it is burnt nonetheless. Unfortunately, this usualy happens at the beginning of the summer then I am snapped back to reality and start being more diligent about applying the sunscreen.:headache:

Hi Cass - just been on your distag list on the bob site - please add

Steve and Laura - B9ersteve
Jen's MIL Susan
Brandee and Justin - 2 princes and 1 princess

They are on my list but not yours.

Anyone else want to play who hasnt told either me, Jen or Cass?

Karen, I got Susan on there already, but I just added Steve and Brandee :thumbsup2

Still waiting on AFEG to be asked to be added ;)

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes. I need to get a hosting site and I can post some of my better pictures from the Wonder cruise that we just got off and the Med Cruise last year. The one pic of the Disney Wonder is hosted by a friend of mine on my last cruise thread. Is there a point at which you can post attachments directly without a link? Under my posting rules it says that I Cannot post attachments (but I can link to them). :)

I'm Matthew, DW is Beth, DD 10 is Megan, and DD 8 is Sarah.

I love the castle pics. We have been to the UK twice and spent one day at Warwick Castle. I'm the familiy genealogist, we came from Somersetshire. I'd love to take a castle touring trip back to England at some point.

When my DD and I saw the B.O.B. thread we thought it was our slogan for this past cruise. For us, B.O.B. was "Back On the Boat". When we were in Barcelona last year at the end of the cruise we came across a DCL Shore Excursion group. I told my two daughters that we just needed to blend into the crowd and we were Back On the Boat! It was Sarah who pointed out that it wouldn't be fair because someone else wouldn't have a room then! :confused3 Oh well...

I guess I need to set up my signature properly with a B.O.B. logo. ::yes::

You can't post pics directly from your pc, but most of us use Photobucket, it's easy to copy the forum codes now with one click :thumbsup2

Love your version of BOB!!! I think we all want to get Back on the Boat!! :woohoo:

Karen, love the photos :cool1: Way to go Ellis for taking on tall girls :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: Looks like you guys had fun! :goodvibes

Joanne, welcome back! Off again on Thursday...you lucky girl ::yes::

Off to read some books with my girl.

Karen--loved the pics!!! I like taking castle pics as well, when I'm near a castle that is. I went to Germany and Austria when I was in 10th grade and half my pics were of castles.......;)

I dont normally bother *** we have so many castles they're boring to me now, but I really enjoyed it this time. I guess it was cuz Ellis is old enough to be interested now.

Karen, great pics of the castles. :thumbsup2

Thanks Jeff. :goodvibes

Karen, I swear I had that salt water running out of my eyeballs one time when I used my Netipot!! Talk about stinging!!:(

It doesnt normally hurt, I either put waaay too much salt in the pot or my nose is just very sore inside. Whichever it was I would have squeeled like a banshee if the others hadnt been asleep:headache: I need to buy shares in tissues - they are making a fortune out of me today!

He doesn't have much of a summer vacation then, does he?

DS has just over 3 months off.

Does Ellis know about Greece? We're telling DS about the Repo on Friday night. He'd be too excited if we told him now and there is still 2 days of "real" school left.

They get 6 weeks off in summer - but nearly 3 weeks at Easter when trhe weather is lousy and theres nothing to do:rolleyes:

He knows about Greece - Jeff, you know me, I cant keep a secret:lmao: He's so "yeah, whatever" about it all:rolleyes: - not really excited but he will be when it gets nearer.

Make sure you have your camera ready when you tell your ds - I want to see his reaction!

Karen the pics were wonderful!!! Thank you so much!! I am a HUGH castle and ruins person! It is amazing how well that castle is preserved. You can see the whole layout of the interior. It was like looking at a really detailed pop up book!

Glad you liked them.

Warwick castle is only about 40 minutes from us - it is a lovely castle::yes::

I too use photobucket - its so easy that even I manage to get it right:rolleyes1

We'd love to see more photos:thumbsup2

Rob left this morning for Arizona. He'll be home in 2 weeks.

Sorry to hear your man is away Paige Hope the time passes quickly for you.

I know Suz wants to get some info on the Canal to give him and we have the Discovery Channel's show on the Canal as well.
