10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with BOB) - Thread #7

Just popping in here to say a quick hi and I hope everyone is having a good long weekend!! I'm hoping to maybe get caught up a bit here tomorrow. Have a great Sunday everyone!

ds and family coming over for bbq chicken on grill today. my mom and dad also.
robin went to the gym(she's becoming obsessed with it. or sully?)
i'm supposed to be on cleaning detail but i'm dising.

Jay and I saw the new Indiana Jones movie this afternoon ... mucho funzo!

Now we're eating cheese and sushi and drinking wine!

I love three-day weekends!

good to know. we may go see it later today or monday.
not sure why you chicks like that harrison ford. he's an old man.
(must be that scar he has on his chin eh?)

i think i'll pass on the cheese and sushi though.(and the wine.)

Hi all,

Seems like a slow weekend to DIS. I do hope several see this question.

My neighbor is thinking about a Disney cruise for his honeymoon. Any advice?
Palo's of course.

I told him I would ask the experts!

Oooohhh... spa treatments like the exotic Rasul or as we like to call it: The Naughty Mud Room! I know some people don't like it because the steam room can get pretty hot, but that's when you need to use your imagination ...

Cabana massage on Castaway Cay ... we had the last appointment of the day and it was wonderful. By the time we were finished it seemed like we were the last people left on the island.

Spend some evenings in Sessions ... it's at the rear of the entertainment district and it seems like very few people hang out there. They have live music in the evening (usually jazz) and the bartenders will usually give patrons a plate of fruit and cheese to accompany their drinks.

Tell them to look into adding the Romantic Escape at Sea package - it will include a romantic turndown one night and a full service breakfast in bed along with some other goodies. The package has changed a bit since Jay and I did it in 2004, but for a honeymoon couple I think it might be worth considering.

Late night strolls around deck 9 and 10 are lovely as are late night visits to the hottub with a bottle of wine or bubbly!

Just stopping in to say hi to everyone! Hope you all are having a nice weekend so far. We have my brothers wedding today. Not looking forward to it but glad it is here and tomorrow it will all be over!!! The only good thing about this weekend is that I get to see my cousins and their 2 little ones!! I so love them. We had fun running around yesterday. Went downtown and did some shopping and had a nice lunch and then back up to mom and dads for a cook out. Very nice time.
Well I have to get going. I have some things to do before I need to be dressed and out the door.

I like his brains and his sense of humor ... didn't see any scars.

I think Brenda said it all There's tons of places on the ship to hang out together with little or no kids. I would highly recommend deck 4 at sunset!

So my friends Sean & Bernie booked a cat 12 GTY through Dreams. Those cabins only hold 3 people but they have 4 people booked. I saw their DU reservation page and it says they have 4 people booked in 12 GTY.

Does this mean that they will automatically be bumped to a cat 11

I hate threads like that ... people trying to tell other people how to best manage their cruise-meet threads so that they will feel more comfortable.

I always take the approach that for people to get to know each other on the forums they have to post. You gotta speak up if you want to be heard ... just a fact of life.

Yes it does. I think that is one of the "secrets" of DCL. If you book a Cat 12 GTY with 4, you will get a Cat 11 or better.

This is my fear of people joining the BOB. I sure hope no one comes on here and thinks we're not welcoming or won't answer their questions. I think we do a pretty good job of getting people involved.

Look at the first post, there are almost as many new people as returning people on this thread.

If anyone is out there lurking and not posting, please post away. You are not interrupting any discussions we're having. The more topics the better. Heck, you may be able to get us off a topic we've discussed to death by starting a new one.

Laundry, housecleaning, errands, and dinner with my parents, the nephew, his fiance, and her parents. They're getting married in three weeks and I suggested that it might be a little awkward if the families didn't meet until the day of the ceremony.

And to echo your earlier comment - any lurkers out there feel free to jump in; we're a chatty group and are always happy to welcome new blood. And if your post happens to get overlooked don't take it personally ... things move fast and sometimes people just miss things. Post it again in larger type!

I think we do a pretty good job of welcoming people and including them if they want to be included I think the first page really helps as does the BOB site to keep all the cruise stuff together and updated.

She made it.

She is now at her home away from home, until we sail her back.

Those pics we cool.

Now just need to find a "live from" thread to see what time people were able to get into the terminal and/or how early they could get to port (not in the terminal) and how close you get dropped off. Still trying to plan when to have the van take us to the port.

I took the list from the Yahoo site, so if your name is not up there and you DO want to participate, please let me know. Also, the first entry has no Dis name listed, only names that I don't recognize so maybe we can get that person (I am assuming that they are friends of a Diser) to post at least once, so we can add a DIS name to the list


Is there anything else missing from the Bober site??? Sometimes I don;t see the bigger picture and get lost in the details. If there is something that needs to be added, please let me know
