10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with BOB) - Thread #7

A friend of mine and her family did a similar trip a few summers ago. They went to LV, Phoenix, the Grand Canyon and in UT they went to both Bryce and Zion National Parks. She said it was a great trip!

I think we'd only have time for one of the UT parks, but who knows, maybe we'll go longer than one week. We could fly out the Friday night he gets off school and then come back the Sunday of the following weekend. That would be 9 nights. More than enough time.

The Grand canyon is fabulous. But if you want to ride the mules down you must make reservations. One day there is enough. My kids were bored after a few look outs. The sunset is a must. The way the rocks change colors is amazing. I made them get up for the sunrise also. Not quite as spectacilar as the sunset. You must ride the busses to the look outs where the cars are not allowed.

Not sure if I would go down into the canyon. I'm afraid of heights and sitting on a mule looking over the drop off would do me in. :scared1: :faint:

wow! - lots of lights on tonight - where is everybody?:confused3

By the way, can anyone remember how to update my buddy list?

I cant remember how to delete or add?:confused3

I'm sorry, I just know how to put you on my "ignore" list. :rotfl2:

Actually, I think you just click on the person's name to the left and it will give you an option to add them to the list.

On the page it takes you to, you can also uncheck anyone you don't want on the list anymore.

Hey, where's Andy been lately? I know he checks in, in the morning, but haven't seen much of him the last couple of days.

Everything O.K. VM?

Thanks Shelley. I can't believe Rach will be in high school already. She had been excited about it but now that the school year is nearing it's end she is getting nervous to the point where she was in tears about it last week. She said she wishes she could just skip high school and go right on to college, she's not nervous about college (that's what she says now). I am not looking forward to the first day of school in the fall if she is going to be nervous :scared1:

Angelina was the same way as she was preparing to start her Freshman Year of high school and here we are less than 3 weeks from her high school graduation..........

I'm sure Rach will do just fine..........::yes::

We've been to Nassau several times (three times on a Disney cruise and once for a beach vacation). We've regretted it each time we stepped on that island. LOL -- we've never had a great experience. Last 4-nighter we never even got off the ship at this port.

I'd recommend staying onboard and enjoying hte empty ship. If you feel compelled to do something, I'd say take a taxi over to Atlantis to see the grounds, window shop (or shop if you have a money tree in your backyard), casino (again, money tree dependent).

I agree with you Mel. Won't bother getting off again.

Just a whole heck of a lot going on with getting ready for Angelina's graduation and her party.

Also having trouble getting our DVC resale closed and am getting totally frustrated with the whole deal..........:furious: :headache: :furious:

Thanks Andy, I'm sure she'll do fine too, sometimes it's just hard to convince her of that ;) I don't understand why she says she is so excited to go to college, her dream is to go to NYU :scared1: Now that would scare me half to death, going to college in New York City :scared1: she better plant herself some money trees and hope she has a greener thumb than I do to go to school there, I don't want to discourage her dream either

The beaches are great. They could look into a day rate (one-night) at the Atlantis - should be a sale that time of year (I've seen low rates).

We did the Queen's Staircase, Fort and Water Tower, but that is nothing to write home about.

Most people stay onboard when they go to Nassau and enjoy the ship.

Thanks everyone! I'll let her know what you guys said and maybe they should just consider staying on the ship.

Maybe just a reflection of my almost 4 1/2 years on the DIS that has gotten me to the 10,000th post.

I remember coming on here green back in Feb 2004. We had just gotten back from Ocho Rios, Jamaica and booked our cruise (we sat on the beach every day that week watching the ships come in and how much fun it looked like they were having when they sailed away. DCL was NOT one of them. Suz and I said we should look into a cruise some time and I told her Disney had a cruise ship and she said to look into it). Didn't know anything, but started Googling Disney and the DIS came up.

Got hooked on that cruise thread (Jan '05 - Eastern). Didn't really meet up with people because we were still shy.

I did not get involved with my Oct '05 - 3-nt Wonder thread at all. Those threads (3-nighters) never seem to go anywhere.

We then got involved with the Jan '06 - Eastern. That was a great group of people. We had a good time on with that group. (not sure how many posts I had over there, but it was a lot)

Next was our Jan '07 - Western. I was already involved with the Oct '07 - Western (the famous Konked Kruisers), so I didn't post much on that thread either.

Then it was the great Oct '07 - Western with the best cruisers ever. What a blast we had. (had well over 4,000 posts on that thread)

Up next is the Aug '08 - EB Repo, but I think you all know how I feel about that one, so we won't comment there. Spent a few posts over there (almost 1,000).

And up after that will be the Oct '09 - Western (given we don't slip a 3-nighter in next March :rolleyes1 ). This cruise I think will top all the cruises for the group of DISers on board. I think that cruise (this thread) will be the best and very hard to be beat (unless we go on yet another reunion cruise :confused3 ). (over 4,000 posts on all the BOB threads combined)

So, that is a little history of my DIS experience through my 10,000 posts. Sorry to bore all of you, but I figured I couldn't just put up

and leave it at that.

So no you all know why I don't have a life - I'm DISing all the time.

:cool1: Congratulations on post 10,000 :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

That's me done for tonight. Catch ya later folks.
