Hello all I am a friend of Cass AKA Timon and we will be going on the Oct 2009 cruise with them. This is our first cruise EVER! and I am super excited to be going My Husband Sean and our 2 kids will be joining us they are 16 and 19 (one last big trip before the family splits to become a bigger one ) I look forward to meeting alot of new people from the look of that list ;-)

So I hope you all don't mind but I will be bombarding with questions..lol

I finally got around to watching that DCL dvd I bought in October, Treasure of Disney cruise Line .

The behind the scenes stuff was good but the main 30 minute video was crap! They basically followed this one family on their cruise but they used a lot of old footage (same stuff from the first dcl planning video they sent out in 1998!) and they kept going back and forth from the Magic to the Wonder but they didn't specify that. So, if you are a newcomer, then you wouldn't know that

Don't have to worry about those teen years Cass, the 3's are bad enough with the attitude. Don't believe the terrible-2's, those were easy. 3 was bad.

Pretty cool Cass.

We stopped at Wendy's for dinner after my girls picked me up from work, then had to deliver the prom dress back to the girl that Lina borrowed it from. Now I have to get ready for the concert, Lina has to be at the school with her fully packed suitcase in about 45 minutes.

Not sure if I will have time to get back on tonight after the concert. If not, I'll check back in when I have time either later tomorrow or Thursday.

Just got in from the concert and the baggage check at the high school. I need to take care of a few loose ends, then I'll be heading off for a "couple" hours of sleep. Lina wants to get up at 2:30am so she can get a shower, do her hair, and "reflect" on the next couple of days without mom and dad around. This is what we talked about at dinner tonight, she was so cute, made mom and dad's eyes well up a few times.

The band and choir both did an amazing job tonight and the standing ovations were very well deserved.

I am packing up my laptop after I finish this post and won't be turning it back on until after Hazel and I get to the trailer sometime tomorrow. We are stopping by to see my mom and Walt on the way to the trailer and having lunch with them.

I'm feeling a bit emotional this evening as this is the first time that we will be separated from our daughter for this long. I'm beginning to see how Mike and Robin feel now with Cassie living away from home. I think I am going to dread the day Lina moves away from home. With her being away "most" of this past weekend, the house seemed soooooooooooooooo empty.

OK, enough of my ranting and raving, I really need to get a move on it.

Welcome to the group. I'm Tanya (goofyfreak's sister) and I will be traveling with my DH and DD (14) and DS (9). THis is our second DCL.

A little "proud parent" moment before I go. Emily's high school had their sports awards program yesterday. I am so proud of Emily. She is only a Freshman, so we were happy knowing that she would "letter", but she also made the All-Conference team (2nd team). Their conference is small as is their school, so it is not like she is a pitching phenom, but I was proud nonetheless. It will do wonders for her confidence as a pitcher....She also won the "glue" award. It is an award voted on by the entire team. The coach said it is the girl that epitomizes the sport, the one who keeps the team together, the one who they miss when she is not there. Emily was so flattered to receive this award, and I , of course, was very proud of her.

Of course this morning, it was back to normal and Rob and I were fussing at her about her skirt being too short....

Did I mention that her boyfriend's dad got orders to Hawaii and they are moving next month? He's a nice boy but I'd rather her not have a steady boyfriend at this age......

....now that I've bored you all, can someone pass the deodorant?

Just finished watching The Great Debaters, what a great movie

I'm glad to know that. I've been thinking about getting it for English class--do you think it's appropriate for school. Does it have some good debate etiquette scenes? The kids always want to debate but then it quickly disentegrates.

Thanks Cheryl!!! DC is one of our favorite places to eat, we have been going there since about 1984. I love the Rock Shrimp and Corn Fritters!!!!!!! YUM! YUM!

I had one of thier seafood combo plates and everything was delicious, especially the rock shrimp and those corn fritters were great too We will definitely eat there again soemday!

Isn't that one of the places we talked about meeting the night before the KK cruise?

Yes it was. We were hungry when we landed that day and ended up eating a big lunch at the Macaronni Grill in Lake Buena Vista before headingto the port and then we actually had pizza for dinner that night after taking a nap.
