Well, camping was a bust! It started out nice but on Saturday we had serious tornado warnings so we all had to huddle up in the bathrooms in the main building. They wanted us to tie up our pets outside!!

What???
So being the good doggy owner I am, I wanted to fib and tell them that Cabo was a Seeing Eye Dog and being trained so it was NOT an option. Instead, I just sneaked him into the bathroom and ignored the dirty looks I was getting.
A funnel was forming directly over the campground and people were freaking out! Green clouds all over the place!! Tony has video of the funnel forming on his blackberry but has to figure out how to post it first. The funnel dissapated (SP?) before it never touched down though. Horribly high winds and tons of rain. 30 minutes later, we returned to their site only to find 2 of the 5 tents that were pitched. The other three were in a heap two sites away.
We packed up everything left over and headed over to Wisconsin Dells (a popular tourist town about 20 minutes away). We were able to snag a 2 bedroom cottage for under $100.00 from the hotel we usually stay at. They also lost power for about 2 hours themselves with terrible storms. We thought we'd go and get some pizza but the restaurant was closed due to no power. The ONLY place that served food and wasn't jam packed was McDonalds (YUCK)! It'll do in a pinch though.
It stormed all night and we even had another tornado warning! ENOUGH ALREADY!!
We headed home Sunday morning and found a virtually dry basement. What a relief that was for us. BUT, Chuck's sister had 2 feet of water in her basement, Stacy's grandpa had over 4 feet in his and no power, and Chuck's brother had a flooded backyard that was seeping into their garage which houses their new kitchen cabinets while they wait for a kitchen remodel.
More storms are predicted Monday - Wednesday here in SE Wisconsin.
Stay safe everyone! AND....Stay cool!!
