The luggage restrictions really cheese me off - in part for the same reason you just mentioned. I know that when I purchased our tickets for this coming October, AA still had a two bag per person limit with a surcharge beginning with bag three. And if they try to stick us come this Fall I am going to raise a very vocal stink.

I think two bags per person is totally appropriate, especially if you're taking a longer trip. And with the stupid restrictions that have been placed on carry-on baggage travelers are now effectively screwed.

Personally, Jay and I would rather pay more for the actual ticket rather than get reamed for having a third bag (and by that I mean three checked bags between the two of us, which is typically what we do for a 10-15 day trip).

I say anyone who bought PRIOR to the announcement (not the effective date) should be allowed a variance on it. It is not fair to charge them now when they could have chose a different carrier who didn't have such a restriction.

That said, I think AirTran (don't think Midwest has implemented yet) charges $10 for the first extra bag. I will pay that if it means I can bring my tux and Suz' dresses. To rent the tux would be close to $100, so it would be a savings.

As for carry-ons, that is one of the best benefits with AirTran. You can put a 21" wheeled carry-on in the long way in the overhead bins. Plenty of storage with them. :thumbsup2

It was lovely chatting Jeff:goodvibes

Tell Suz to stay away from that carpet!:lmao:

It was great chatting with you too.

I'll make sure the blinds are closed and the room is dark so she can't see the carpet. :rotfl2:

Everyone will be wondering what we're talking about now.

I'm actually out checking the flights as we speak.

I can get FF seats on all the flights for the days we want to go, but I can't purchase seats on the flight I want back to MKE.

The strange thing is, the evening flight has no available seats to select, and the fare is low, but the mid-day flight is only 25%-30% full and it is higher priced. I don't get it.

We'd have to fly back at 8:00 a.m. on the 21st. I'll have to look to see what Expedia can give me since we still have $900+ of "Thank You" points to burn.

Maybe if I use those, she can still do her carpet. :thumbsup2

I'll put everything together today for her to review (cost options, touring plans, etc).

She still needs to clear the time off and working for one of the major retailers, it is hard to get off, even though she is in the corporate office.

Which water park is open over xmas? - anyone know where I can find out? I know they usually shut one for refurb.

I could get Disney and seaworld tickets this time round and do Universal next Oct.

I could still get a day Univ pass and do the xmas grinchmas or whatever its called.

Oooooh! - my heads in a muddle:crazy:  :hyper: :hyper: :scratchin :scratchin

He's reading this as I type:rolleyes1

Neil, you going to do WDW in December?

We're thinking MVMCP (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party) on the 19th, along with visiting some of the other resorts to look at decorations that day, and then some parks on the 20th.

We're in the night of the 17th, so we would be doing parks the 18th as well, but you arrive later that day. We'll probably do AK and one other park that day. Save Epcot and MGM (for the Osbourne lights) for Saturday. Maybe head to MK if we have time Saturday night.

We'll be out of your hair early on the 21st. :rotfl:

I think it is Blizzard usually first and then Typhoon, but last year I think they reversed that.

It may be too cold to do a waterpark that time of year.

If not, I think we'll be there on the 19th instead of resort hopping/decoration looking.

Are your passes hoppers?

I'll have to look into MVMCP - not sure we'd pay the extra when we get to see it all the week after, but I'd like to see the resorts - that gingerbread house and carousel sound amazing.

we'll miss you when you leave on the 21st:sad1:

Okay - gotta go - later peeps!
