Great price Karen (although that would be about $5,000 for us USers. Cheaper coming here than going there).

Going back the 31st. We were thinking of trying to do something the 26th/27th through the 31st/1st, so we may be there.

:cool1: I feel a dis-meet coming on:cool1:

We always rent from Alamo. Dollar usually has better deals but the cars are a lot older and don't seem to be taken care of. Just my opinion though.

:thumbsup2

Again, looks like I'm posting before I'm reading.

I'm sure Suz will be all over this one.

I will have to wait on flights. Only Midwest has prices out right now and it is obnoxious (sp?). I will have to wait for AirTran to release their fares. They only have through the 10th of December right now.

When do Air tran release more dates? Our flights are out for Oct 09 already

That's what I'm going to tell Suz - we're cutting back on Xmas presents then.

If you're staying on WDW property, you could start making some door signs. :rotfl: (would just look funny if you're staying off property)

No disney property for us - did it once - Neil wont do it again and we found the rooms at the All stars teeny compared to those on I Drive and LBV

Did you tell him? Or will it be a surprise?

Me?.........keep a suprise:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He hadnt even come through the front door when I was screaming "we're going to Disney for christmas" and jumping round the lounge:rotfl2:

I've used both and both work well. If you are a member of Budgets club (free) you can walk right to your car.

I just did a quick check on Alamo's site and for 5 days, the cars are coming up over $300. :scared1:

Edited to add: Looks like I got the 1000th post without even trying.

I got a quote via www.usrentacar.co.uk for $440 for a 4 door for 13 nights

I always thought everyone's cars were about the same age.

Is Dollar onsite at MCO? Maybe it is Thrifty who I'm thinking of that is offsite.

Thrifty is cheap too.

According to this site all three are onsite at the airport

Gee, this really gives me something to think about. I'm going to have to ponder over this idea...........:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I told Hazel we could take our little 4' Christmas Tree down to our vacation home and have Christmas there this year................

I will pack a christmas tree for the room - it will be a 2 or 3 ft little one and will be thrown away the day we leave

We may actually fly into Tampa to save on the air and car. Might do a night or two out by the beach.

Yes, just getting down in the sun would be great.

I emailed Suz and the hampster woke up and the wheels are turning now. I'm afraid to see what this is going to cost me.

Yes but just think how much fun we can have:banana:

I've never used Alamo, but I do have a nice discount code for Budget. I'll be using Budget again in May. I've never had any problems with Budget.

I likey discount codes;)

Mind shooting me a PM with the code?

Is it FL only?

I'll be on my best-est behaviour i promise....:rolleyes1

Your bestest behaviour would still put you on the norty table:rotfl2:

O.K. Here's a tough one:

Budgets: $139
Moderates: $209

Nickelodeon Hotel: $272

The Nick has all those waterslides too. And if we're only looking at one day in the parks, might be a good option.

Just get a day pass for wet n wild or aquatica - we can zoom down the dolphin slides together:goodvibes

Does anyone know, do the hotels right next to Downtown Disney, I believe they are "Good Neighbor" hotels, get transportation to the parks?

Is it WDW transportation?

Could you pick the bus up from DTD or do you have to show a resort KTTW card?

Most hotels do free shuttles to the parks

Ok, now I'm really jealous....all these people talking about WDW for Christmas!

Seriously, that's awesome Karen - glad you can enjoy a nice vacation.

Thanks Jen - I'm seriously excited!:yay:

Hazel said she doesn't mind, but said, "Depends if Angelina wants to go or not." I said, "If she wants her Christmas gifts, she will go!!!" :rotfl:

We'll see what happens, but I'm for it!!! :thumbsup2

Tell Angelina she has no choice! - she has to come and meet the mad australian that Daddy talks to every day:lmao:

It would be sooo much fun if you can make it:banana:

We stayed offsite one time at a Quality Inn in Kissimmee and there was shuttle service, but I don't remember if it was free back then or not. Angelina was about 4 years old I think, she's now 17........

I think for the one day we have to do it, I'm sure it will be fine.

Where do these buses drop you off at the MK? I never see anything but the WDW buses. Do they go to the Transportation Terminal across the lake?

We're just in a hotel on I Drive - Neil will not do Disney hotels and we dont intend on doing the Disney parks much this trip - it will be more sea world, aquatic and universal etc - we'll probably get the flex ticket and then do one day in Disney - I so love that Xmas parade

I WANNA MAKE T SHIRTS TOO!

Will do - pm you later.:thumbsup2

Do you think you'll be able to make it? - it would be so fab to see you all again.:cool1:

Users dont do long haul for less than 2 weeks normally - this will actually be our shortest trip ever to USA. Our first trip was 4 weeks, then we usually do 3 weeks or at least 17 days. Uk'ers get more annual holiday than you though so its easier for us to take longer vacations.

I so hope we could meet up if you make it!

We have to go to Greece for a fortnight first so I need to pack for that in July, but I'll be packing shortly after we get back:lmao:

Pictures - you know me too well, I am click happy when it comes to cameras.

It will be another "photo-trippie" as I dont do words like our Benda

Karen,Hazel wants you to be our photographer in 09 please, just send us your non family photos and we can pass them off as ours.....:rolleyes1

We're just in a hotel on I Dirve - Neil will not do disney hotels and we dont intend on doing the disney parks much this trip - it will be more seaworld, aquatica and universal etc - we'll probably get the flex ticket and then do one day in Disney - I soooo love that xmas parade

That is a good idea too! We have annual passes to the Anheiser Busch theme parks. And we will ahve annual passes to Disney. It would only cost us air, food, and lodging.:cool1:

I know!:sad2: So not fair! I feel that the US is in the stone ages when it comes to holiday leave and maternity leave!

Yes, TTC

I've got to get ready to go back to work, see ya later.......

You lay down those rules Andy! :rotfl:

I'm sure she'll be off school for at least that week, so I bet she'll go. Let us know how it goes.

Would you be driving?

Have a good afternoon at work.

Do you mind me asking what hotel on I Drive you're looking at?

We too are only looking at 1 day in the WDW parks and the rest at the hotel or wherever.

I was thinking Lake Buena Vista area. Never looked at the I Drive area. Not sure if we'd do other parks (i.e. Universal) or not.

Karen,Hazel wants you to be our photographer in 09 please, just send us your non family photos and we can pass them off as ours.....:rolleyes1

I sent Nancy a disc from last Oct so she could do the same:rotfl2: - I just snap a lot and hope some turn out ok- the rest get deleted:rolleyes1

Just the Rodeway Inn on I Drive - its right next to Wet n Wild and we'll have passes for there so it seemed to make sense. It has a fridge for our wine, beer and cheesecake so we're happy:cool1:

We've stayed at a lot of them on I Drive and 2 in LBV - A good budget in LBV is Fairfield Inn - stayed there last Oct.

:cool1: I feel a dis-meet coming on:cool1:

Yes you should be. :cool1:

They are out through the 17th of December. Most airlines release at about 330 days out here.

Suz is the opposite. She HAS to stay on Disney. Never did the All Stars though, so I can't compare.

Me?.........keep a suprise:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That makes it a lot easier. Although, we were off airport in February when we flew into Tampa and it wasn't an issue.

Yes but just think how much fun we can have:banana:

Yes, it would be a blast. The boys would love it.

I likey discount codes;)

Me too. :thumbsup2

She's got you pegged. :rotfl:

I may look into Aquatica, but we still have a ton of passes on the WDW tickets for the Waterparks.

Also, the Nick hotel was only $272. They have a ton of slides there. It may be worth the extra $ for a night their (actually may be less depending on what a waterpark costs).

But Aquatica looks cool and I bet if Suz has any say, we'll be there.

That is a good idea too! We have annual passes to the Anheiser Busch theme parks. And we will ahve annual passes to Disney. It would only cost us air, food, and lodging.

Sadly, those three will cost you a pretty penny compared to the passes. :sad2:

I know! So not fair! I feel that the US is in the stone ages when it comes to holiday leave and maternity leave!

You could always move. :rolleyes1

Maternity leave is 12 weeks - that's 3 months. What do you want, 18 years until they go to college?

Vacation pay comes down to where you work. My company gives 2 weeks for years 0-3, 3 weeks years 3-6, 4 weeks years 6-15, and 5 weeks years 15+. We also get 2 personal days, 2-3 floating holidays (depends on when the holidays fall that we close for. We get 10 total between "hard" and "floating"), and 6 sick days. I then negotiated another 12 days into my comp package.

Just gotta find the right employer. I dont' think anything should be mandated.

Now just wait with your response until I get my flame retardent suit on.

We've stayed at a lot of them on I Drive and 2 in LBV - A good budget in LBV is Fairfield Inn - stayed there last Oct.

I'll check out the Fairfield. That is by Marriott. We've stayed at other Fairfields and have had good luck.

Where did everyone go?

Karen, it is only about 7:00 p.m. your time. Whatcha up to? Are you planning your trip or packing?

I see Jen's light on.

Sorry folks -I'm back now - I had to stop Dissing - My phone just rang:yay:

It was Suz!!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

It was so nice to hear from her:hug:

I cant wait to see you all again:goodvibes
