Way to go Karen, you are "OUR" champ!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

So here is what I have been working on for the last 3 weeks, in all my spare time. It is our new kitchen table. I have never done a wood project before. So this was a new experience for me. It is just under 4 feet wide and is a little of 6 feet long. The legs are redwood, and the top is solid oak. It would have only taken me two weeks but I used the wrong varnish and had to stripe it off and start over. Then the weather played into the stain drying again. But now it is in the house and ready to use.

I attempted chairs. Will never do that again. The three that I made looked horrible. So for now we are using the chairs we have had and I will buy chairs from an unstained wood place as I have the money to buy them.

Carrie, it's beautiful! You did a great job! I am in awe....

Good morning/afternoon everyone!

Karen - nice to your mom twice in one week?!? Good girl!

Becky - Glad to hear about Sean's Grandma...

So far, just another ordinary day for me. :surfweb:

What do you collect?:confused3

I used to collect WDCC...... got tons of the stuff but had to stop cos we ran out of foom and Ellis was born so it all had to go into glass cabinets away from little fingers.

I also collect xmas ornaments:rolleyes1 (as some of you already know from my house photos!)

I also collect disney number plates - got about 30 but nowhere to put them. We're going to display them in Ellis' playroom/garage (when we get round to it. )

Good question Karen! I collect Disney art. Cels, Paintings, sketches, pin art. I used to get one heck of a discount when I worked for the company plus limited cast member release items as well so our house is full!
I also collect antique bunnies.

Woody collects Star War memorabilia and toys.

We have a couple of cels - one of Jimini and an evil trio one. They sure are $$$$. I bet that discount used to come in handy;)

Off for my lunch - low fat cuppa soup and a dish of strawberries:rolleyes:

The worst part is... as soon as Ellis finishes karate tonight I have to whizz him home, get him changed then he's got to go to a birthday party at ..........Pizza Hut:rolleyes:

Imagine going to Pizza Hut and not eating:scared1: - it'll be torture:sad2:

I have to stay and watch 30 kids stuff themselves on delicious pizza:sad2:

Torture I tell you, torture!

OPh dear:hug: - I hope you can get it sorted

Another

:woohoo: great news

Holy cow! - you MADE a table???????

Thats amazing:worship:

Makes my easter hat look a little easy:lmao:

Yes I made the table. I got a bee up my butt. Our old table was falling apart. I have been looking at table and I wanted one that was real wood not the pressed wood. Then I was to picky with what I wanted and could not find anything for under $800 that I liked. So I decided I would try to make one. Low and behold it turned out and it only cost me $247.48 and that included all the wood for the chairs that I decided to trash and the incorrect varnish and striper. All and all not bad.

Did you post pics of your hat. I would love to see. I am not that creative.

Good morning everyone.

Today Mac has half day and Kelsey went to her moms for the weekend. So I have to get my erronds done before 11:30. Then it is off to get her hair cut and our special coffee shop. Then she is off to grandmas for the night. And I can scrapbook all night.

I made a table once ...

with Excel. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Seriously, that's a great accomplishment - do you have any pictures or have I missed them already by not reading back through volumes of posts?
