thats one of the resaons we never looked into the dvc. but everyone that has a dvc seems to be really happy with it.

Well we are...and there is great resale with the program. The first lot we tried to buy, Disney took up it's option to buy back. We were luckier when it came to the 2nd lot of points.

I'll tell you what Mike... You get it right at home and then you can call cinnamon. (That didn't sound very good, did it?) :rotfl2:

It's not really the jungle, just a canoe ride through the mongroves. Here is the description:

Mangroves, Show and Lunch
Wind your way through a lush landscape of mangroves during a canoe tour of Cienaga De la Virgen and withdraw to Las Americas Resort where a hearty lunch and a folklore show awaits.

Sit back and surrender to the sprawling natural splendor of Cartagena as you embark on a 30-minute, air-conditioned motor coach drive — past a spectacular seaside panorama of sand and surf — to the beachside, Caribbean-inspired Las Americas Hotel and Resort. During your scenic trip, discover the fascinating history of the region from your friendly guide, and marvel at the breathtaking views that surround you at every turn. Upon your arrival, board your canoe and then embark on a remarkable guided adventure amidst the calm mangroves and still swamp waters of the Cienaga De la Virgen, considered to be the most important eco-system in Cartagena.

During your expedition amidst the unspoiled surroundings of Cienaga De la Virgen, lose yourself to the serenity of the calm water and secluded coastline as your guide paddles you through a number of shady mangrove tunnels. Revel in the natural beauty as you breathe in the sweet fragrances and marvel at the fantastic foliage that surrounds you everywhere you look. Glide around cool canopied bends as the warm tropical breezes wash over in every direction, and learn about the spectacular flora and fauna — some exclusively indigenous to this region — from your guide. Watch for birds as they soar high and then dive in the sky, and gaze down to the still water beneath you to spy a curious crustacean or colorful fish.

After your hour-long journey, return to Las Americas Hotel and Resort, where you are invited to savor the flavor of a refreshing beverage and a hearty buffet-style lunch, and enjoy the day as you so desire. Sunbathe on a warm sandy beach and drift off to the soothing sounds of the breaking waves or make a splash in one of three resort pools. Then, enjoy a traditional folklore show celebrating the history and culture of Cartagena in song and dance. Finally, after your near three-and-a-half hour resort visit, gaze upon the picturesque sights once more as you begin your 30-minute return trip — passing through the historic walled city — back to the ship.

Make sure you get your vaccinations then Jeff.

So Sean and I went out tonight. He surprised me and showed up at my work, which was nice because I think I have only seen him for about 5 min in the last 2 weeks.
We stopped off at Barnes and Noble and I got the new Julie Andrews book to read on the ship. She's actually going to be at DL this week signing her book, but I can't get the time off. :sad2:

I also got a book called Mistaken Identity. It is about the 2 college girls that were in a really bad car accident, and they identified them both wrong. The surviving girl was on Oprah with her family and the other family. They seemed like wonderful families.

Becky...will you have time to read?

Yep, Woody is going on week 2 right now. It just keeps traveling between his chest and head. I am about ready to shoot him and put us both out of his misery! ;)

Well you know Shelley, that when men are ill...no one else has ever had it worse:lmao:

Well, in fact, I talked to my friend, Giap, and she told me they booked yesterday! Some time this week I will introduce her to the DIS......She and her husband are really nice people and are lots of fun, so they'll fit right in with the rest of us.:goodvibes

:welcome: :welcome: Newbies.

Ok nobody to play with...time for Wisteria Lane #2 and a pile of ironing.

Becky...will you have time to read?

With 7 days at sea I am thinking I should get a little reading time in. I guess I'll find out. Plus I have 3 days at Casstaway Cay, might get some reading time in there too. If not, I'll read on the plane home, if I can see through the tears.

7 Days at Sea? We have 7 alone on the Repo, not counting the day we sail the canal. Plus you will have one on the 5-nighter.

8+ (+ for the canal) Sea Days and 3 Days at CC, man, you're going to have a blast.

I can have Sean bring you his vest from work....oh wait a minute no you can't because I WILL BE WEARING IT!:lmao: :scared1:

I'm telling you, she wants me dead. We just got the confirmation that the new life insurance policies went into effect. She started talking about his excursion after that. :rolleyes1

I have to find a way to get on a different tour. I like the one that does the city highlights, the fort and then shopping (figure it only gives her an hour to shop ;) ). That one is substantially less cost too.

There is also the city tour with folklore show. Not sure about that one.

As for shot, Suz did put a call in to the travel nurse at the clinic, but we haven't heard anything back yet. I think we need to get DS in soon for one of his two parter shot (the other part will be after we get back, but they want this one in now and up and working before we leave). The second part is a booster type that you're suppose to get 6 months later.

Not sure what I will need.

That's the one we want to do...safety in numbers?!;)

Some of the D.S. are getting Hep A shots..think Becky was anyway. Rick's got his 6 month check up soon, so he'll as the DR's then.

We've been talking to lots of people about going in '09. I have one family booked, and showed her the boards, but I think she hasn't come on yet. We have a couple other families interested, but not booked yet.

We are getting our Hep A series (2), then I have to call the travel nurse in June to set up an appt to see if we will need anything else, like malaria meds, which are just pills from what I understand. The nurse said you only need your first Hep A to be ok, we will get our 2nd shot before the cruise though.

Got on the scale this morning and I am a

I've been trying to think of something special to do for my personal upcoming DIS milestone. I was first thinking of stopping at post #19,999 and then sign on a new userID, or maybe going to post #20,000 then starting all over again...Verandah Man2...:lmao: just silly things running through my mind.

Maybe I'm just too strung out off cough meds and the like, I don't know.

Gotta think of something to do.......:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
