Just sneeze alot. With all the flu craziness going on , they won't want you around.

Darn them, they gave me $250 in american express cards as a thank you for my client survey scores. This means I have to be pleasent and go to dinner. :scared1:

Well my girls are sick today--:sad2::sick:----------Rachel had 101.7 fever and Hannah 102.2 @ 11:30 last night------------yeah!!!! Called Rachel's school to let them know she would be out and the first thing he said is "Have you had them tested for H1N1????????????????????" :scared1::scared1::scared1: Michigan is out of the flu shots in our area--so we weren't able to get them like we wanted before we left :rolleyes1:eek::rolleyes1
So hoping this will pass w/ just a minor thing in the next few days :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Oh no, Wendi!!!! :sad1::eek: I'm so sorry! Bad news. I hope the Dr. says it's just a bug. :sad2:
If so, just remember not to talk about it when you get to the port because I think it'd be bad, I read something about "sickness questions".

pixiedust:pixiedust: Pixie Dust for well wishes!!

Ok Heather... I was TOTALLY not going for that googley!!!!!!!!! :lmao: :rotfl2: I told you I am stopping at 50 and that one would have given me 2.... put me over my pre-determined limit!!!!!

:grouphug::wizard::wizard: that they are better

We just have DD packed. Elaine just told me to get the suitcases out for her at lunchtime.

We sent notes with out kids today to school formally notifying their teachers about vacation and the school secretary just called to inform us it will be an unexcused absence.

Oh well...

We sent the notes today, too. We have P/T conferences and they're only missing a couple days, but we're missing conferences too. So far, DD's 5th grade teacher just said we could have a phone conference. :thumbsup2

I kind of made Chris (17) in charge of his own make up work to be done.. he needs to be responsible for getting caught up. (of course I'll follow up)

We will also be sailing on the 24th and was wondering about the excursions.
Like in St Thomas the butterfly garden is that something that can be done on our own or is it better w/ Disney. And in St. Maarten is the Sea World Explorer coral reef good for a 3yr old?
Thanks

Welcome! :yay:

I'm Matthew, sailing with DW Beth and DD Megan (11) and Sarah (9). This is our first trip to St. Thomas and St. Maarten. However, I personally like doing the excursions with Disney because you are guarenteed to get back to the boat on time, or they will wait for you. Everything is taken care of for you and you don't have to worry about anything. We have cruised twice before with Disney and have found their shore excursions to be very well done.

I'll leave it to the more experienced cruisers to answer the Sea World Explorer question.

Welcome again.

Matthew

Welcome to the cruise!!! Are you as excited as we all are??

This is my first cruise, so I don't really have an answer for you! :rotfl2: However, my family and I are ALSO doing the butterfly garden - we are going through Disney - mostly because that tour also takes us to do a little shopping and touring on the island as well.

See you on Saturday!!

Well - I'm off to do some other work.... need to see if I can concentrate on work for a FEW hours today!!! :rotfl:

I was thinking that the buterfly garden would be fine on our own since it is so close to the ship.
This is our 1st week cruise on Disney we have always done the 3 night cruises.

I googled st thomas butterfly garden and found a map and coupon for $5 off the gift store (I wasn't able to post the link)

I have heard from several TA that these islands are very safe to do excursions on your own-:thumbsup2--there are taxis waiting for you when you get off the boat----we are doing Coral World Marine Park on our own in St. Thomas:banana::banana::banana::banana:

She's just doing her job. If we didn't call and let parents know it would be that one parent who doesn't know the law asking (more like yelling) why we didn't let them know it wasn't cleared when they sent the letter.

My district "highly recommends" that employees take OUR vacations when kids are out of school. To encourage this they do not supply a sub for this. Union however stated that they can't make us take it then.;)
Oh the conversation was all good. Elaine and the school secretary are cool with each other and are on a first name basis.

I can tell when I receive the letter that it is a form letter and don't pay much mind to it. My kids are good students who always do their homework and have good grades, so I am not too worried about them missing a week of school for a vacation they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Well, that's the key. They are great students, and will be fine with a little make up work. :) If they were struggling in school I'm sure you might feel differently.

My kids are having a great year so I would be fine with them missing a week or so for a vacation, let alone a few days.

I just can't pass up October prices!! We may do this every October! :thumbsup2

Anyone done the pedicure on the ship????????????? It sounds nice--but its $55.00-----trying to dec. if I want to do it before I leave or book this and do it one the ship???????????????

Yes, it can be overwhelming thinking about it.

I'm really a last minute rush-around person (I always pack to visit mom in FL the night before) but I knew after I printed my list a couple weeks ago that I needed to start earlier for all 5 of us! :thumbsup2
