Cass, I just looked over the ship again. There are still a LOT of Cat 11,10,9,8 rooms Avail. A few rooms opened up in Cat 5 and 6 that you might be able to upgrade into at the port, They're might be more later open up because there is still a lot of Cat 4's empty. (I think they need to make that category cheaper. That's a crazy jump in price!)

I was just hoping for a window so Kira can enjoy looking out the window :goodvibes I don't even want a verandah, but I am hoping that people will ask for verandahs and then I can get their cat 9 rooms :thumbsup2

I agree, those cat 4's are soooo expensive!!! :sad2:

What's the first thing everyone wants to do once on the ship? We will head to topsiders for lunch then swimming for the kids and the first of many ice creams for me. Yummo!

Rob likes the buffet at Topsiders so we will go there first and then I will head out to Plutos for dogs/strips/fries :goodvibes:cool1: I'm sure Kira will have her first ice cream at that time :rolleyes1

We were actually talking about hitting topsiders instead of parrot cay. I think it would be nice to sit outside and eat.

I know one thing. We're spending more time up on deck 10 this time and less time in Rockin Bar D. :rotfl2:

Hey everyone...

Just got back from picking up a prescription for Jay. There is nothing like walking around Walmart for 40 minutes trying to entertain myself. I looked at camera accessories, played a game of Guitar Hero 5, and wandered around a bit.

Still no word from DU for my parents.

Well I just made an impulsive purchase just now. I have always wanted a good SLR camera ever since I was a teenager and used my mom's old one. I was being a bad boy and texting my sister during my meeting today and she was telling me she is going to buy a camcorder for the cruise. I mentioned how I would love a new camera as mine is 5 years old and is only a 3.1 MP camera. We were talking and my mind started thinking....

So I just bought myself a Canon EOS Rebel XS. I know its big, bulky, but that is what I have always wanted. I rarely buy myself anything like this, so it is like an early Christmas gift for me.

I will be a big time shutterbug on this cruise!!!

Yay Chris!!! That's a SWEET camera!! Dave just bought an SLR type digital camera a couple months ago and he loves it - takes a while to learn all the ins and outs. have fun with that!

What is your most favorite food item on the ship? Mine would be the steak in Palo's. Followed by watermelon and ice cream.

Yeah, I vote for steak too. That's most of what I'll be eating.... steak and potatoes..... no adventure girl here.

No ostrich for me:scared:

I do love love love their grand marnier souffle with chocolate sauce. YUMMO!:thumbsup2

Hey Bobbers! Last week (I think) someone posted something about a trifle. Whomever that was, could you please pm me the recipe?;)

Rose: I'd also like the website to Bob's housewarming gift.

Hey Nancy! That was me... I'll send you the recipe in a few minutes (It was SUPER SUPER SUPER Yummy!! - and I don't like pudding/cool whip normally... don't like the consistency)

I think if I had an almost 3 year old, the verandah would make me VERY nervous. I'm sending you some pixiedust: to hope you get a window (she would love that!!)

I'll post the the recipe below (and send it via PM so it doesn't get lost in the messages!)

**This is a Pampered Chef recipe - but you can just subsitute the products listed below with what you have!***

Black Forest Trifle

Ingredients:
1 pkg (18-21 oz) brownie mix (plus ingredients to make cake-like brownies)
2 bars (1.55 ounces each) milk chocolate candy, divided (I used the 4.5 oz bar of Hershey special dark chocolate cuz I like dark choc)
3 cups cherry pie filling (I used 2 whole cans of it - extra cherries!)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup cranberry-cherry juice (couldn't find this, so I used regular cranberry juice... not a super important ingredient..)
2 cups cold 2% milk
2 pkg (3.3 oz each) white chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
1 container (8 oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare brownie mix according to package directions for cake-like brownies; spread batter over bottom of Large Bar Pan. Bake 18-20 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Loosen brownie from sides of bar pan and invert onto flat side of Large Grooved Cutting Board. Cut brownie into 1-in. cubes; set aside. Chop 11/2 of the chocolate bars using Food Chopper. Reserve remaining chocolate for garnish.
Combine pie filling and almond extract in Small Batter Bowl; set aside 1/2 cup for garnish. Stir juice into batter bowl.
Pour milk into Classic Batter Bowl; add pudding mix and whisk until mixture begins to thicken. Fold in whipped topping.
To assemble trifle, place half of the brownie cubes into bottom of Trifle Bowl. Layer with half of the pie filling mixture. Sprinkle with half of the chopped chocolate; top with half of the pudding mixture. Repeat layer one time.
Make chocolate curls with reserved chocolate using Vegetable Peeler (see Cook's Tip). Garnish top of trifle with reserved pie filling mixture and chocolate curls. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving.

Cook’s Tips: To make chocolate curls, hold the Vegetable Peeler across the short side of the chocolate bar. Using even pressure, push the blade away from you to create curls.

This trifle can be assembled several hours before serving, or even the night before.

That WDW news looks neat. I am reading reviews of my camera and only glanced at it real quick. Is there a timeline for completion? I am guessing a few years.
