The weather has been the best of the summer, perfect temps, mostly low humidity, no rain! Pete & his family have been at a lake all week - boy did they luck out!

Shoulder is still iffy - that's why I'm typing.

We are having friends over for dinner tonight. Here's the menu. Tell me what you think:

Crabmeat Stuffed Mushrooms--appy
Chips/Dip--appy
Boiled Crabs (the cajun way--with potatoes, and corn)
Fried Shrimp
Green Salad
Ice Cream Sundaes

Iced Tea and Lemonade
Beer

This is pretty easy for me because all I really have to cook is the stuffed mushrooms. Rob is cooking everything else outside.

Now, I just need to keep my fingers crossed that the seafood vendors have crabs today.

Walt and Di---too bad you're not passing through here today. I'm sure you're experienced at boling crabs. This will be Rob's first time, so I imagine he'll be on the phone with his dad a bit during the cooking process.

Yum, we did the shrimp boil last week with the corn & potatoes, it was so good!!

Thanks Cass for setting up the new page. I was a slacker last post and didn't fix the links, so I am glad they are up now!

Steve, what a great idea for a party. I am usually in agony at my kids parties with all of the hyper kids, and I am usually on eggshells about spills, etc. Like you though, I would have a blast at something like that.

Paige, sounds like you are having quite the feast tonight. I'll jump on the Acela and come on down!!! Elaine picked up a Pork Tenderloin last week at BJ's. It was already marinated etc. The other night I threw it on the grill and wow was it good! I finished it up yesterday at lunch. We have another one in the freezer, so I expect we will be having that one sometime soon.

The Red Sox will remain in 2nd at least through the weekend. They would have had to sweep the Yankees to retake 1st. I have a feeling that the Yankees will be putting some distance between them and the Sox.

Hi everyone Just checking in and subscribing. Thanks for the breadcrumbs, Cass.
Maybe I'll find some time to post more on this thread. Between work, the puppy and summer stuff there just aren't enough hours in the day lately for me to get on here much.

For everyone booked at the Radisson, I spoke to my contact person there again about the shuttle. She told me they will have a shuttle set for the group for 10:00, I asked again if it could be any earlier than that and she didn't think so, she said she didn't think DCL would allow them to shuttle guests over any earlier, but she said we can talk more about that when it gets closer. She also said that when it gets closer we'll talk more about a lsit of how many and who will be taking the shuttle so as soon as I get more info on that I'll pass that on to all of you

Well to tell you the truth Joanne and I think Roger will agree. They made a BIG MISTAKE getting John S and Brad Penny two has been's. Now its blowing up on them. They won't stay alive with just two good starters.
As much as as im a Red Sox fan Jonnne if they don't do something they won't even make the playoffs.

I agree with you. They took a page out of the old yankee playbook by signing older has been's. That didn't work for the Yankees and it won't work for the Sox. In trying to be very objective, I think they are in a downward spiral. They have weak hitting and weak pitching and now is not the time for that to happen.

The Yankees on the other hand are doing everythign right. They are hitting, they are pitching well and their bullpen is providing a great bridge to Mariano.
