No, we ended up booking the night at Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. We will be exploring that resort while you guys explore AK Just going to relax and have some pool time for Kira and hopefully a nap!

We are renting a car on the way back. We didn't want to be put on those Mears shuttles

God morning everyone. Just made Sean some french toast-major willpower not to have some myself. I can't believe he will be in 2nd grade on Monday. Anyone else sending kids off to school this soon??

The college where I work starts on the 22nd which makes more sense.

I can't wait until Sunday to make reservations!

Our kids don't start until September 3rd. Why does Labor Day have to be so late this year?!?!?

We are renting from Avis and the plan is to have Rob drop off Kira and I off at the port and have him return the car to Avis and then take the free shuttle back to the port. It's the safest option for us because Kira will be in her own car seat the whole time



Most car rentals in PC are closed around 4pm so methinks you will have to return it in the morning

Ok, I am going way out of my comfort zone here.

I am starting to design door signs and possibly t shirts. I am designing them on my home computer, then I will print everything on my work computer. I am going to be ordering a new color laser printer for my office so that should work nicely. I'm listening to my Disney playlist on iTunes for inspiration. James Newton Howard's Flying is on right now!

Wow! It's either feast or famine here with the posting! As slow as we were going the past couple of days, I didn't think it would be hard to catch up! Wow!!

Also, for those of you hanging around for MNSSHP on the 31st. What are you all doing all day?

Those of you at AK, like June and I, are you eating lunch there or going somewhere for a big meal before the party?

Are any of you making ADR's for this?

Rose - we are going to stay at Port Orleans - Riverside as well.... don't have any big plans yet - probably hang around DTD until time to go to the park.... no ADR since we want to eat at Chef Mickeys and they don't serve lunch!

I'm about to head out to lunch, but I have a question I hope you other non-first time cruisers can help me with.

I'm starting to compile a clothes packing list and I realized that I don't really know what people wear on the boat during the day.... I know we shouldn't wear shorts to dinner, but what about during the day - tshirt and shorts acceptable?? Any pics would be appreciated (I'm too lazy to search for them myself now... LOL)

We use to go 10-15 quick pages on earlier threads when it started.

I think we'll see a steady 10 pages a day on average between now and the cruise. Some days slow, other days a ton. That would have us closing threads in 25 days. We probably will be less than 20 days when we get within a month.

Most publics start around here on Sept 1. DS's school starts on Aug 26. He ends though on May 27. That's about 3 weeks before the puclics will end.

We are having friends over for dinner tonight. Here's the menu. Tell me what you think:

Crabmeat Stuffed Mushrooms--appy
Chips/Dip--appy
Boiled Crabs (the cajun way--with potatoes, and corn)
Fried Shrimp
Green Salad
Ice Cream Sundaes

Iced Tea and Lemonade
Beer

This is pretty easy for me because all I really have to cook is the stuffed mushrooms. Rob is cooking everything else outside.

Now, I just need to keep my fingers crossed that the seafood vendors have crabs today.

Walt and Di---too bad you're not passing through here today. I'm sure you're experienced at boling crabs. This will be Rob's first time, so I imagine he'll be on the phone with his dad a bit during the cooking process.

The weather has been the best of the summer, perfect temps, mostly low humidity, no rain! Pete & his family have been at a lake all week - boy did they luck out!

Shoulder is still iffy - that's why I'm typing.

Dropping off the rental car in the AM and then going back over to take the shuttle with everyone? Or is it better to drop off June and our luggage and then have Budget shuttle me back over?

We're also Avis people Rose but we are dropping off two of us with the luggage and the other two will return the car and take their shuttle to the port. It worked out perfectly last time.
