10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) Thread 23

OK, so, first, it was not that easy to find this thread..the "find your meet" thread still references #1 (612 pages long!). I was lamenting how I would never get through all that when I finally found thread #23 (the 22nd thread)!! Maybe someone could update the "finder" thread, or maybe the last post on each thread (before closing) could point to the new thread? (If they do, just ignore this - haven't been there yet)

Now, I don't know whether to be intimidated or to join right in, so I'm opting for the latter...
here's our info:
kdzgon = Chuck & Laurie, with 2 DGS, 6 1/2 and 4 1/2 when we sail (kids made me add the "1/2"s!), Florida
We have been on a number of cruises, but this will be our first "official" Disney cruise (I took my kids on the "big Red Boat" many years ago) and we are pretty excited!

By any chance, does anyone have a "Reader's Digest" version of all these threads

I have not yet attempted all the other threads, but the links to the excursions in the original thread are no longer valid.

I actually thought to look for a "meet" thread because I was trying to find out what a "fish extender" is - kind of a convoluted trip but, hey...

Anyway, happy to be here, and I hope to meet you all in person this October!

She is doing a little better today, swelling on the left is side is down quite a bit and after seeing her family doctor today, he's very happy with how things are progressing Her fever is gone and hopefully it just keeps getting better from here on in

What's up for the weekend people??

I have a "vacation" day at work. "Vacation" meaning....NO BOSSES!!
It'll be such a relaxed day. Karen, I'm bringing along my new camera, the manual, my new memory cards....everything but a replacement battery. They didn't have any at Best Buy. I have to find one on the internet somewhere.

Then....Chuck, Tony and Jesse will be out of town all weekend at a basketball tournament. Kristin, Stacy and I are having a "Girl's Weekend". Dinner tonight, SHOPPING at the outlet malls tomorrow with lunch at The Chancery (yummy veggie wraps!!!) and a movie tomorrow afternoon. It'll be one big sleepover all weekend too!! I bought the Benjamin Button movie and also received my Best of Carol Burnett dvd's so it'll be a "TV Sunday"!


I just hope the money doesn't run out Saturday morning already.

Ellis is off to karate Sat morn then off to Grandma's for a sleepover on Sat night. Sunday he is off to a lazer party with some big kids - he'll be the littlest by nearly two years so I hope they give hima chance

Nancy - I dont think you'll need a replacement battery to be honest - we have never used one and the battery has only gone on me once in the years I had it. It takes about 280 photos per battery charge

They do have them on ebay though if you want one - from China usually

Karen and Rose, you two prefer reds, don't you? I have switched to whites for some time now. Reds keep me from sleeping well and give me a bit of a headache the next morning--even just one glass of red does that to me. Rob likes reds.

I do prefer red, but am just as happy with a white, depends on my mood (pauses to sip her merlot).... curry is better with white and hot days a nice chilled chardonnay, otherwise I usually go for red.

I know what you mean about headaches, one and a half bottles give me a headache too

We also have a bit of a fun weekend planned. Thomas is being picked up tonight by Grandma and Grandpa for the weekend! He is so excited! He gets to stay over Friday night, then on Saturday his 2 cousins (ages 6 and 4) will be coming over with their mom, and they're all staying over Saturday night. Then, they'll take him to the family gathering on Sunday, and we'll get him back then.

Soooo.....thay means Pete and I have a couple of days without a kid. Tonight we're planning to go out to dinner and then see the new Star Trek movie. Tomorrow we'll be sleeping in and then hanging out.

So we spent Wednesday night at the Children's Hospital. Kira's cheek and chin were very swollen They believe that she has swollen lymph nodes probably caused by bacteria from a sore she has on her chin.

Thursday morning the swelling had spread from her right side to both sides. She is on antibiotics and we're hoping that will do the trick, if not we have to go back to the hospital

We did the food allergy testing, which, IMO, was a waste of time. She showed a reaction to more than half of the tests but she doesn't show any kind of reaction when she eats the foods. For example, pineapple was her worst one with a 5 rating....she eats pineapple all the time with zero kind of reaction They kept going on and on about her ezcema, which isn't bad really but they couldn't give us an answer about what kind of food would have given her such a bad reaction. We go on the 26th to do the environmental tests. I have a feeling though it will be similar to the food tests

Cass - I too find the whole testing thing a real test of patience

At our hospital they always go on about Ellis' ezcema too even though he barely ever gets it

Pineapple is a very common allergen reaction. Just make sure you keep at them to keep testing her til they fin the trigger An annoyed Mommy usually gets her own way eventually if she perseveres

I love having extra's of everything (well, not the weight of course ) because I'm a good one for letting the batteries run out and messing up a memory card. But If I have to order it from China it'll cost me a bundle.

Karen, I don't know how it works either! I signed on just for kicks and giggles and thought I was accepting friends who requested a "friendship" from me, but I was actually "inviting" people!

Lori & Kathy were trying to help me along, but I'm just lost over there. I don't know how all those conversations show up on my page when no one is really even talking to me.

I even have a couple people asking to be my friend and I have no idea who they are.

Hey Rose! In answer to your question in the previous thread. I think the video cost about $40 at the time. Which we thought was a huge sum. We pooled our money and bought it.
