St Thomas-

http://sunnylistontours.com/description.html

I hadnt noticed this link before off page 1.

Maybe if theres enough people interested we could hire him for the day so we get to choose the itinary. We could do eg Mountain top for a little shopping and sightseeing, then Sapphire and then Meghans beach all in one day for one price of $40 per person - no additional taxis etc and we get the tour to ourselves and see both beaches etc. Anyone else interested?:confused3

Theres 3 of us. Up to 10 people its $425 split between us all, 11 people or more $40 each.

What happened to trunk bay?
I thought lots of people here were doing that?

No she works for the CPS,Crown Prosecution service, like your DA's office,i think (yes all way over my head:rolleyes1)her job is to compile all the evidence and witness statements for the Barrister prosecuting the case when they need them....You'll have to ask her about some of the more odd cases she handlers....:scared1::rotfl2::scared1:

Heather you forgot to mention the fact his act is the same and has been since 1977.....:rolleyes1

Good for your daughter, I'll bet that is an interesting job.
Is she cruising with you?

Trunk bay - I'd love to visit there but what puts me off is that you only get 1 1/2 hours on the beach though.

CC - I dont think we'll do much this time. Maybe hire a bike, maybe not:rotfl: Depends how lazy I'm feeling that day. We didnt make it to the adult beach last time, so I want to head out that way for a while this time round.

Havent even started thinking about St Maaarten yet, I wish the beach with the planes (Maho) was nicer:sad2: -I'd love to see the big planes come in. If there are any due that day I might still go there just for the experience (and hopefully a great photo opportunity!), then go onto a nice beach for an hour or so.

Oh, I see. But that Megans Beach it seems so crowded.

Sounds like fun Karen, but I think we will probably just do the truck tours again on St.Thomas. We saw soooo much on that tour last time all for only $25.00 each.

St Martin will be shopping in the straw markets and back onto the ship this time. Chuck and I did a tour in 05' and loved it but the kids don't seem too interested in that. I have to agree with you on Maho. I would be there in a second if I knew we could see all those huge jets. :scared1:

What fun!:banana:Since our kids are waaaaay too old for that now we play hide and seek on Cabo. Last week I hid in the car and kept calling for him. Poor little guy was going nuts trying to find me. At first he was mad and then he started wimpering so I gave in.

I'll have to try this with my pups! What a fun game.

Ahhhhh, how cute! Has he eaten any packages lately:rotfl2:

:scared1:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANICE!! ROCK ON!!:thumbsup2

Next day was St Thomas, we rode the Tram to the top, took a Taxi around the island and did a little shopping. Put DM in wheel chair and pushed her to the tram, the excursion desk told me we could take the chair all the way to the top, well they were wrong. Had to leave it at the bottom. No ramps all stairs. So DM rode up and then just sat at the top while I climbed to the top.

robin and loved these pics joanne.:wizard::wizard:
we went there in 2005 but the ship was docked way on the other side so we couldnt take "magic pics".
we walked all the way back. (not a good idea):headache:

I'd like to do Trunk Bay also, but my nephew is only 4 and the DCL excursion is for 5 and up. I also was thinking about that tram (is it called Paradise Point)?

I have no idea on St. Maarten - maybe shopping?

CC - I want to see the stingrays, and see if DS wants to check out the kids club on the island so DH and I can sneak over to the adult beach. If not, that's ok too. Maybe the BOBers can take over a big section of the family beach and all hang out!

We'll likely be searching for a family beach as we'll have 6 & 4 YOs in tow, so you won't be alone!

How about pony rides for the kids? Here seaside nature park is a place that offers pony and horseback riding as well as a beach (bar & grill available), snorkeling, kayaking, hiking etc. I haven't searched for reviews yet but I found it on a cruise board I often use.

This tour Captain Alan has gotten great reviews, incl someone with a 3 YO that said he has boogie boards with a clear window cutout so a young child can lay on it and see the fish underwater. He can provide transportation (for what seems to be a reasonable fee) and parties of 7 or more can arrange an afternoon trip instead of first thing in the AM.

I seem to recall there are lots of water sports close to the pier, and the Rhino Riders are especially fun (min age of 5 if you book directly but 10 through the cruise line).

I think St Maarten tends to have better shopping deals than St Thomas but honestly unless I am looking for something specific and/or a really large ticket item most cruise lines have deals on board as good or better on the last day or two.

I'm serious! There is an attraction called Shark Reef where you can snorkel and see sharks. The water is cooler than in the rest of the park to keep the environment just right.

I agree on the beach! If I just wanted to cruise and shop, I wouldn't take a Caribbean cruise. I would take a New England cruise or bermuda cruise where I don't have to drive/fly an excessive distance. There are a lot of ships that homeport 2 hours or less from my home, but I want that warm azure water!

I'm still in the Caribbean for cruising (we love those repo cruises - lots of days at sea) - no cold deck sitting for me! I never even took the cruises that left from NJ or NY (~35-45 min ride away) in winter because it meant too much time before we hit warm weather!
