Extra quick note on T-Rex....the Filet is NOT good...but the Ribs--phenomenal! Our boys ordered the ribs and the meat literally fell off the bone! I was fortunate enough to have the boys allow me a taste and I was really sad that I hadn't ordered them! i would recommend substituting the garlic mashed potatoes for a different kind...none of us liked them. But between the ribs and the experience...WOW! Have fun when you go!:thumbsup2

OK I am watching the season finaly of John and Kate plus eight... and the commercial for toddlers and tiaras comes on... wow... thats not right...how on earth would a 4 year old know she wants to dress up like that?... parents have mega issues...

What did you think of the interview & comments at the end of the show? (J & K) Didn't realize Jon was so unhappy with the show life. Sounded like he'd like to end it but I'm sure finaancially they need it to continue. No way could they support that house & life without it.

We're thinking about eating there in Oct. on the 23rd before heading to the port & Radisson.

Sunday they were very busy and am afraid allsorts of undesirables were given privileges,they've spent the last 48 hours removing them from such people.....:snooty:

PS....I "searched" that answer.......:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

That would not surprise me. I know it was there - like I said, I used it.

Oh, and as for your PS, I know you have special powers. ;) :rotfl2:

This is our first Eastern cruise, so all new. I maybe interested in doing a "two flags" tour in St Maarten, and then the beach in St Thomas on our own.

We did "Two Flags" on our first trip to St. M. It was a good overview of the island. We then just went to the beach in the main bay where we docked. The second time we went to Orient Beach. Not sure exactly what we're doing this time.

On St. T, we did Meghan's on our own and thent he "island" tour in the afternoon. Not much on the island tour there though.

We did the St. John Island tour on our second eastern. This tiem we'll be going to Trunk Bay.

I saw Tropic Thunder in the theater. I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard at a movie. :rotfl2: Although a lot of the humor is politically incorrect, it's still hysterical. There's even someone playing Wii :) See if you can spot Tom Cruise.

Just for you Mikey, just for you. :wave2: Be careful what you wish for :rolleyes1

I loved Tropic Thunder. It is one of those movies you can not take seriously. I could not believe that was Tom Cruise. It is very funny.

Two Flags is a great excursion...very laid back and you get a good story about the history. But I do have to say that my DH and all three kids favorite excursion is the Golden Eagle Catamaran! They have done that one twice on St. Maarten. Just more food for thought!;)

How old are your kids? We're considering the Catamaran with our 2 girls (12 and 10 on the cruise).
Megan actually looked and thought the Mountain Biking excursion looked good. Anyone with any ideas on these 2 excursions?

Our daughter is currently 16 and our boys are 14 and 12. All three will gain a year by the end of July. In fact middle son has celebrated his birthday on DCL at least 4 times! He didn't last year...but he did his 13th...in Naples/Pompeii! It was one of those, how do you ever top that?...kinda moments! The nice thing is, he is child that relishes EVERY birthday!
DH and I take a week every year without them...miss them terribly....but relish the romance of our solo time!

What about your kiddos? How long have you been married? We will make 20 years this November.

Which sailing were you on???

I know about "how do you top that?" kind of events. Our first cruise was the 7/7/07 Med cruise! No birthdays, but it was just after our anniversary. Our daughters didn't want to leave the ship. Plus, Megan's wish at one of the shows was to go on a cruise every year!

DS was too young the first time and now when we look at it, they changed it (at least from what Lori described hers as). They use to go to a different island as opposed to a beach on the french side. We may still look into it, or just pick a different beach to hit on St. M. I heard Dawn Beach isn't too bad.

Sorry Folks.......the bottom finally dropped from underneath me and I also feel like I got kicked in the gut this morning at work. :headache: With the "reduction" of "additional salary" starting in April :mad: there is no way that Hazel and I will be able to cruise anytime soon. :sad2:

I wish I could express how sick to my stomach I am feeling right now. If I had been turning 55 next month, instead of April 2010, I would have been filling out my retirement papers before the end of the day. :rolleyes:

Oh Andy i am so sorry to hear that you will not be joining us now. That is terrible news for you.
:hug::hug: to you and Hazel.
I wish you luck for the future and that maybe you can cruise again soon.

On the first evening in Animator's Aleksandra came by to say hello. Jay hadn't eaten his veggies, so Aleksandra starting teasing him saying that he would have to help Mickey wash dishes. Jay was just glaring at her the whole time thinking, "who is this chick and what's her deal?" He was 4 at the time. The next night, same thing, and Jay actually grinned this time.

On the third night, Aleksandra came and said, "what do you like?" Jay responded, "I like corn." A few minutes later she returned with a plateful of corn on the cob. Jay loves corn on the cob! For the next few nights, until the end of the cruise, she came to the table everynight with a plateful of corn on the cob for Jay.

On the last evening, we had Jay give Aleksandra her tip. She hugged him and thanked him. I really hope she is still around because he really liked her. I made sure I mentioned her on the comment card.

This story sounds alot like our first cruise. Sarah was 8 1/2 on our first cruise (11 night med cruise). The second night (first full day) on the cruise, she got a migraine headache at dinner. I had to take her back to our room during dinner. The next night our server asked how she was and after we explained that having the late dinner might have contributed to the headache, he asked if he could do anything to help. She loves watermelon, so he brought watermelon as soon after we were seated as he could each night, even though it usually had to come from one of the other kitchens. In addition, he came to the table toward the end of dinner each night and did "magic" tricks for the kids at his table. Sarah loved the attention.. and got a huge crush on Orlan. It was very sweet!

So, Orlan was one of our favorite CMs. Our others would be Brent as cruise director and Laura. She was part of the general entertainment crew. But... we ran into her every day on the ship. It became a game for us.. and she joked several times about us following her! It was fun to have a familiar face at events.

Hey everyone. I was being WebSense'd at work so I couldn't DIS. I am at home eating lunch now, and decided to catch up on the DIS.
We did this one in 2005. Bring snacks with you. It is so pretty over there. It was a long boat ride and the kids were starving and thirsty. The beach is gorgeous and the snorkling was really nice, and easy for the non swimmers.
That's good to know. I have seen pictures of Trunk Bay and it looks absolutely amazing. It also sounds like a lot of BOBers are interested in this excursion so we will see familiar faces.

Sorry to hear this Andy. I was looking forward to meeting you. Keep your head up. :grouphug:
