10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #18

Looks like we quieted down a little this afternoon. Only 3 pages or so to go through when I got back from the store.

How's everyone's Sundays going?

Sunny and warmer than average here. Suppose to stay above freezing for the highs all the way through Saturday. Tuesday, DS's b-day, is suppose to be the warmest and may set a record high. He's excited about that. We have a competition to see who's b-day is warmer - mine, Jan 7, or his, Feb 10. I won last year when we set a record of 63* (although we were technically in WDW for his b-day last year, but that doesn't count ;) ). The record for his b-day is 58* set back in 1899. I don't think we'll beat it though.

Just been figuring, we're 4 hours short of 4 days now on this thread and we're at 1,300 posts. Even if we don't post anymore until then, we're still doing 325 posts a day. WOW! That's almost 22 pages a day. Figure about 11 days and we'll have this thread done.

Also, based on the total number of post the 2008 EB Repo had at the time of their saling, 131,480, we're past the 1/2 way point. And we haven't gotten into the planning stages yet. I think we'll surpass them (or would I have to say us since I was on that sailing and thread?). :thumbsup2

Glad you're feeling better now. Our steaks were good.

Still not 100%. I was really bad Friday night. So-So yesterday. Was feeling good earlier, but was a little dizzy in the store this afternoon. May need to take a nap this afternoon.

OK, I recalculated. We may fall short on the 131,480. It looks like we need 250 posts a day between now and our sailing date. Doing fine now, but not sure if we can sustain that. Not on the flip side, I remember us doing 1,000 posts every 2.5-3 days from late-August through mid-October last time. And that was with a smaller group.

For those of you waiting for Air Tran's schedule to come out, I see they are up to October 18th right now. Shouldn't be too much longer.

I don't get the fascination with surpassing them or posting just to post - sorry.

Must be steak night. We have two huge NY Strips going on the grill tonight. Also picked up some big baking potatoes (jacket potatoes for you Brits). Not sure what veggie we'll have, but I know there will be salad as well.

We were suppose to cook out last night, but both Suz and I weren't feeling too good.

Steak night here too! We also had ours thawing for last night but decided to have them tonight instead. Looking foward to them!!!!!

You crack me up with your numbers.:rotfl2: I definitely think we are going to get very chatty the closer it gets. I love it when I get on here and there are pages and pages to catch up on. Even though it isn't all cruise talk I love getting to know everyone better.:thumbsup2 It really was great on KK1 walking around the ship and always bumping into someone I knew.

Hope you are feeling better today!!! :flower3:

Hazel was going to make baked potatoes, but Lina requested the tater tots instead. Doesn't matter to me, as long as it is food!!! :goodvibes

That's what I love - getting to know folks. On the Member Cruise, the majority of us have a big thing in common as well as a real love for all things Disney, but on a regular cruise like this, that does not exist. It is so fun to get to know everyone. At our first pre-cruise meet at Beach Club, I knew people simply from what I had learned in posting. We even had a trivia game based on things about people. I know it will be the same on this cruise in terms of getting to know people then meeting at the Radisson. Fun, fun, fun!

The steak taste yummy too!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Be back later.........:wave2:

Nancy K and everyone else who is interested, Disney on Ice was really really good. We loved it!

As promised, her is my sutpid impluse buy. The girls wouldn't let me buy them anything (they're too grown up now I guess), but I shelled out $10.00 for this crown. But the guy told me it was from Tiffany's and that the gems were real!!!

My baby girl: (She didn't want her own crown but sure did like wearing mine). :goodvibes

Now just a few shots of the show:

I wish there was a better shot of Dorie and Nemo. Their costumes were very distracting and certainly something the Dawg would like to remark on. ::yes:: The eyes of the fish were strategically placed on the skaters chests.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks for the pictures! It looks like the show was similar to ours but not exactly. We didn't have Aladdin or the chipmunks or whatever those guys in red were. My guess is it's still Minnie & Mickey's Journey but with different characters.

This year's show are:

Annie Get Your Gun(finished last night)
The Cocoanuts
Oklahoma
All Shook Up
Little Shop of Horrors
Peter Pan

Then High School Musical was just added in a few weeks ago.

This is the theatres 3rd season and our 2nd season in attending. We attended one show (Beauty and the Beast) the end of the first year, then signed up for season 2 shortly thereafter. We bought the super saver package, purchase three shows @ $25.00 each, get three more shows for free!!!

Ours (it's called Maine State Music Theater & it's housed at the theater on Bowdoin College campus.) did All Shook Up last summer. It was quite enjoyable! I'm not so enthused about the 2009 season. In 2007 they did Beauty & the Beast & Aida which I loved. One of the directors used to work for Disney.
