Say, did you hear we girls are having a little party for Big Red in my cabin? Did I mention that my cabin has direct access to the ocean??? Sure, there's a little railing in the way, but that shouldn't be a problem. We just need to 'lean' her over the rail a bit and gravity should do the rest!

I don't know if that will work Kathy....I think she's pretty "buoyant".... she probably won't sink.

Thank you all for the messages re Neils job. It certainly is a relief. And of course it means you're stuck with us on the cruise too

Neils heard who has been made redundant and it was wither those who were no good anyway and always in trouble, or those close to retirement so far.

We are surely thankful today

I presume its the same over there as it is here, almost every day on the news there are more businesses closing

Our interest rate has been cut to the lowest ever, but the banks probably wont pass on the latest cut to us via the mortgage deals, but hopefully when we renew the mortgage in June we'l be on a better rate than our current rate.

He got a call this morning - asking him to do overtime - his shift was meant to start at 2pm today - he's just gone now 3 1/2 hours overtime. I dont get it ... but I'm not complaining

Palo question --

Ok, I have a cruise question, can you believe it??!!

We have two staterooms booked one each with an adult in it and each of us with one child. Reservations are linked -- When it comes time to book Palo online can I book one night of brunch and dinner under my name for me and EB and then EB can book one night of brunch and dinner under his name? Giving us two evenings at Palo for dinner and two scheduled brunches?

Does this question make sense?

OR, does it mean when I log on to make the reservation that I make the reservation and choose him as who will be dining. Then if we were to go in as him with his reservation, since he's on my res he wouldn't be able to choose another time.

Yes it makes sence and Yes you can book two Reservations because it's the room that makes the Reservation not the name if that makes sence....

Just don't try to book tables at the same time (e.g You log on and EB logs on at the same time)...that's when you get problems.

For the first time in 30 years that I have been working for the township, the words "Possible Layoffs" were mentioned today at our Public Works meeting that we had this afternoon at 3pm.

Some positions that recently became vacant, due to retirement, will not be filled. Other concessions were also mentioned, but we won't know anymore for another week or so. A lot seems to be up in the air right now.

Two things I have on my side are: (1) I'm the only regular meter reader and (2) my years of seniority with the township. Out of about 50 Public Works employees, I think I am #5 in line with the most years of service. In the water department I am #2 in line with the most years of service, we have 9 people in our department. I feel comfortable, but I'm not taking anything for granted either.

If the township offered an early buy-out, I might be interested in that, since I am only 15 months away of being eligible for full retirement benefits.
