Palate widening??:confused3

Never heard of that?

Ellis' teeth are too big for his mouth so one or two look like they are coming in crooked. I wonder if this palete widening would help? How long is it on for?

No matter what I do its never good enough... She'll never forgive me for moving house:sad2:

5 years!

Where did the old Andy go:eek: - you're half the size - :woohoo: way to go Andy!

:rotfl2: I love it:rotfl2:

Thank you:goodvibes

thank you:goodvibes

Cnat wait!:yay:

Very nice Andy:goodvibes

Wow! - what a house!

The guy in the leather waistcoat loves himself doesnt he!

Our granddaughter Meghan had palete widening done in her mouth just recently. She was 10. She had the braces put on around Easter and had them off last week. I think that was fast work. She will need to wear a retainer now. I don't know how long. I did not ask her that question. Elijah needs to lose a couple more teeth for his braces. He has an overbite. I don't think it is too bad but the dentist says his is severe and Asiah's is extreme. I guess kids need perfect teeth now a days. Diane

Palate widening??:confused3

Never heard of that? The roof of my mouth is very narrow - peaked almost, quite strange. Apparently my sweet, adorable son got that from me.

Ellis' teeth are too big for his mouth so one or two look like they are coming in crooked. I wonder if this palete widening would help? How long is it on for? So they put something in called a quad-helix (attached to 4 teeth in back top and bottom, and has some sort of X shaped thing that worked on springs to push the palate apart) for 2 years. At age 9, he had to have another appliance. I can't rememebr the name, but it is more common. It had a key I put in and cranked that pushed the palate apart. Then he got braces in 6th grade (about age 12, I think). At that point the appliance in the roof of the mouth was removed.

No matter what I do its never good enough... She'll never forgive me for moving house:sad2:

I felt like my mother was like that until I had children and she saw what I was doing with them. Actually she had plenty to say about that too for a while. It is funny really - I was the baby and her pet until I was a teen. At that point she took a different attitude with me. I probably took a different one with her too. ;) Consider it my psychological/sociologica side but I wonder what your mom's baggage is that she has to come down on you for everything. Everyone behaves the way they do to get something out of it - I wonder what she is getting. From very little to go on, it almost sounds as if she feels inferior to you or that she feels she is being compared and not doing as well. I'm really sorry - it is very hard!

Joanne - Great pictures! I can't wait to see it in person!

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? wrapping paper and Christmas bags

2. Real tree or Artificial? Yes! Both are artificial. I love real trees but Walt has allergies. That's what he says anyways.

3. When do you put up the tree? Soon

4. When do you take the tree down? After New Year's

5. Do you like eggnog? Yes but too many points. Why am I worrying. I have been eating too much lately. What is a few more. My mother use to make homemade egg nog for us every once in awhile. I like straight egg now right out of the carton. Borden's or Promiseland. I did not get my mother's cooking genes.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? probably a sled or skates

7. Hardest person to buy for? Everyone is easy.

8. Easiest person to buy for? Heather and kids. They give me a detail list.

9. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, several - it is Christmas after all Double Ditto.

10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail, I better get writing them.

11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? I can't remember. I can tell you Elijah's worst gift. My ex mother in law gave him a box of Dallas cowboys kleenex's. He thought it was a Dallas Cowboy bobblehead. He was so funny when he opened it last year.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Polar Express today. I have many.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? I pick up gifts after Thanksgiving.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Yes, for sure.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Anything sweet.

16. Lights on the tree? Yes, I love lights.

17. Favorite Christmas song? I love all Christmas music. I listen to it everyday.

18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We are going to our daughter's house about 8 miles away to watch Elijah and Asiah open their presents from Santa. Then to Austin to our daughter's house for lunch and presents. Then back to my house to spend with kids and maybe open their presents from us. I really don't know yet. What is happening after we go to Austin.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Yes

20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Angel on one and star on the other

21. Open presents on Christmas Eve or morning? Yes the kids open one present Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas morning

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? People being rude in the stores. Jumping in front of you.
23. Favorite Ornament theme or color? I have many special ornaments from years past. Walt and I started a silver James Avery ornament collections when we got married. It is beautiful. I have all kinds of ornaments from all my travels. Plus I have a Disney tree that Erika and her friend got me one year for Christmas. Only Disney ornaments are on it. It is so cool. Then I put all my Disney stuffed animals under it.

24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Turkey and all the fixings. On Christmas Eve we have Gumbo, rice and potato salad. New Year's Day we have prime rib. We sure do like to eat.

25. What do you want for Christmas this year? wind suit, Starbucks gift card. I would rather give to the kids then get for myself. I have everything I need and want.

26. Who is most likely to respond to this? I don't know

27. Who is least likely to respond to this? ???

Wixie- Mack's favorite is Borden too. It's rather expensive though, so he considers it a real treat. Our son likes it too - they tease each other about taking all the egg nog and leaving none for the other.

I just get a small bottle or carton and sometimes cut it with milk to last a little longer. I haven't had it this year yet. Maybe for Christmas. It is a point for every ounce. Can you believe it? 50 calories an ounce. I guess I will probably spurge since this is the only time of the year I have it. Di

OOO La La! That would be nice, but... I'm looking forward to DIS Meeting with Karen and Paige and Mel and Cheryl and their families as well as seeing Mimi and Mack and Kamy and Steve once again!!! One week from today :yay:

You are all so fortunate to be able to go! Sure wish I could get away from the cold and aftermath of this ice storm! I'll be thinking of you all next Sunday!

They tore the old house down on Saturday, laid the foundation Saturday night into Sunday, and had the whole frame and home studded on Monday. The reveal was on Thursday. The home was landscaped and furnished by early afternoon. There were minor things that needed to be done but the home had a certificate of occupancy. The minor things were things that could be hidden from the show's camera's, but yes they did do it.

I delivered some food to the workers on Monday in the house and it was "organized chaos." There had to be about 100 people working in the house and another 100 or so outside doing the stonework, siding and roof.

Do you know yet when the show will be shown? I really want to watch it.

Joanne those pictures are great! Thanks for sharing. Good to hear your voice too.

I got a few pics from the Extreme Makeover.

I forgot to make my DCL ornaments out of my luggage tags till today, so I am making those, baking banana nut bread muffins, making some other ornaments, and nursing this cold. We are having our downstairs bathroom floor repaired today - may I just say, I HATE buying a house and not being able to see through floors and walls before buying!!!!!!!! And we have lived here 12 years and have just found out things the previous owners did that were not kosher. Plumbing is my worst nightmare - oaky, 'nough said!

She was absolutely awful when we moved house 18 months ago. We have always lived 5 houses away so she saw Ellis every day from newborn. Now we've moved (only 10 minuted drive away) she doesnt drive so she's dependant on us taking him over and collecting him back. We've also moved out of the area and into what is considered one of the nicest areas in the county into a much bigger house than hers. I do think she's jealous. She told all the neighbours around our old house that we were being awful to her etc etc. The list of things she's done is endless. I just ignore it most of the time, but sometimes it just gets too much.:sad2: :sad1:

Anyway,... I'll have 2 whole weeks away from her :woohoo: (although she'll still expect me to phone and text all the time:rolleyes:

Not so true in my case. My step-father has been gone almost three years now and I don't miss him one bit. He was an awful, horrible man to my mother and us five kids. Physical abuse, mental abuse, emotional abuse, you name it, he did it. :headache:

OK, rant over.........Happy Holidays!!! :santa:

Great pictures Joanne! I love the parade at MVMCP and seeing the Castle lit up for Christmas!!!

I hope things thaw out for you soon, Dan & Nancy!

Karen - you are going to have a fabulous time in WDW, so just forget about the WW for awhile...

I actually finished all of my Christmas wrapping and I'm getting ready to mail off the last box to Florida! :yay: Now, onto the Christmas cards... :santa:

I'm also wondering what to pack for Fl. - my Mom says it's been chilly down there, but she has a different idea of chilly than me :)
