It's been a rough week here.

Work has been nuts. I had a melt down Wednesday. I finally told them I can't do everything and they need to send us someone to train us on the new software. An hour lesson over the internet was not cutting it. SO they are sending help Monday.

Thursday morning I get an awful phone call from my nephew in NY. My older brother passed away. We are all in shock. I had to tell my 87 year old mother. That was the hardest. I was so worried. She did ok. We are waiting on his ex to tell us what plans she has made. She is a B**( always has been and wants no help from us. I had to call her twice to get any info. He had three boys and two step kids. So if you could please keep the kids and my mom in your prayers.

I have to get this house ready for Christmas today!! I also have the funeral for my friends baby today. It's going to be a rough day here.

Have a good one all.

hugs and prayers coming your way

Lots of wrapping and getting ready to go to the post to mail. I love Christmas time so much!!!!! I just wish I could see all the faces when people open things.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh:furious: :furious: :furious: :furious:

The WW is at it again:mad:

Just dropped Ellis off at her house.... in her hallway, on a table where she comes in and dumps stuff... are her 2 bags of prezzies from Christmas last Sunday. I had taken all the stuff out of the big hamper and put it all into 2 gift bags for them to take home. She hasnt even bothered to unpack them.:sad2: What the hell did I bother for:mad: Took me bloody ages, cost me a fortune, wrapped and unwrapped it 3 times before I got it to look just right...wish I hadnt bothered.:furious:

Next thing...

With me I had 3 photographs I had had framed from Sunday - one of Mom and Dad, one of them with Ellis and one of just Ellis. I gave them to her ....

what does she say?... I dont like myself in photos:furious: ... ungrateful cow!:furious:

Cost me loads, had to go to order them to be printed, go back the next day to collect them, then go buy frames and thats the response I get.:furious:

How I managed to not hit her with them I dont know. She's lucky she's not wearing them around her neck right now.:furious:

How can she be so mean???

Next thing...

The final straw....

Remember her usual "I'll buy him what I want for christmas, I'm not telling you in advance what it is" etc...

Well, last Sunday I was amazed that she had done as we'd asked and bought what we wanted etc so no duplicates...

Well,......

Guess Whats sitting in her lounge all connected up ready for Ellis?....

A bloody X BOX 360:furious: :furious:

She pretends its for Dad....yeah right!... the games - Kung fu panda and Lego Indiana Jones.:furious:

I could kill her:furious:

She knew damn well I had said no to Ellis because he's already got a wii, nintendo ds, playstation 1 and 2.... so she has done it on purpose.

OK, Sorry, rant over, I just had to let off some steam.

I'm now off to make a voodoo doll with Moms face attached and stick a million pins in it:rolleyes1

Joanne--so sorry to hear about your brother's passing and your troubles at work, I know what that is like.......:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Just arrived home from Riverwinds, had a nice 2 hour workout today and registered a 2 pound weight loss for this week, bringing my total lost to 36 pounds so far!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

She should think about going back to school and majoring in early childhood education. She could work or depending on what degree she got she could even run a preschool. Or she could run her own daycare center. We have a lady here in the neighborhood that runs her own daycare and pull in over 100 grand a year.

That's what I told her too Becky.......;)

Karen--so sorry to hear about the woes you are going through with your mum.......:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

OK, Hazel and I are getting ready to head to Walmart to pick up our Christmas postcards and do some food shopping while we are there.

I'll be busy tonight and tomorrow getting our family newsletter and photo postcards ready for Monday's mail.

What did I miss you are going to WDW too next week? I am jealous.....have a Grand Marnier slush for me.

Actually, this is late breaking news and I'm only going to be in WDW 1 day... I was already planning to fly down to Orlando on the 21st for Christmas at my parent's house. So I checked with Continental and they let me change my ticket to Sat. for a mere $22. I'm staying at the airport Hyatt and renting a car for the day and then heading to the parents on Sun morning!

I'm working on my French right now: eclair, creme brulee, Chardonnay, Grand Marnier...

It's about time! Obviously they need you if they agreed so quickly.

So sorry. Prayers include you and your family too. :grouphug:

It's funny how life changes in a flash. You're in my prayers.

Enjoy your time with your sons.

Boy, are you right about that!

Good for you! I managed to finish my list this morning. I'm still waiting for a few things over the internet, but I'm pretty well set.

You're allowed to rant, that's what we're here for! :lmao:

I don't know what to say - maybe you should try to disconnect and see the humor in all of this. I know how it can hurt when you take the time to do something really special for someone and they don't appreciate it.

Are you sure they didn't mix up the babies in the hospital? She doesn't sound like she could be related to you...

These stories really make me appreciate my Mommy!

Perhaps you should tell her that "Ellis" would like a day at the spa or something..lol or better yet tell her you would hate if she bought him a day at the spa..LOL :thumbsup2

I'm sure I was switched at birth. The thought of turning into her when I'm older makes me believe in youthenasia(sp):lmao:

Nice idea.... Hi Mom, Ellis would like a diamond bracelet, a new car and another cruise on the Magic for his next birthday please:rolleyes1

She'd probably buy him the cruise and a ticket for herself too:scared1: ... holy cow! - I'd push her overboard by the time we'd left port;) :lmao:

Just back from the funeral mass for the baby. OMG there is nothing worse. With just losing my brother it was twice as bad. The choir did ok. I guess we were not all crying at the same time so there was some music.

Life is too short- make peace with who ever you need to!!! Enough lecture

Have a great day I have to get in the Christmas mode tree will be here soon.

I know the feeling I yell at DS #1 if I see him not wearing the retainer.

How old are kids over there when they first get braces? (retainer)

Last visit for Ellis I mentioned a tooth was coming through crooked and she sadi all his teeth would need to be through before they could do anything?:confused3

I remember seeing young kids last year with metalwork, do they do it different over there?

I Totally understand.. my mother in law ( I love her ...really) and my sister in law wanted to come on this cruise with us :scared1: .. and normally hey why not.. except their form of commnunication is yelling at each other... so I asked if all they were going to do was yell?... they decided not to come. I felt bad at first...guilt and all.. but I was sooooooo happy they would not be there to ruin my very first cruise ever!
maybe they can come on the next one and I request that someone be with me at all times so that they have a safe cruise aswell..lol :rotfl2:

ok we just finished shoveling the drive.. we deserve a nice pot of cinnamon coffee! :cheer2:

Karen - It depends on the child's problem and the orthodontist. My son had to have his palate widened at 4, so he a type of metalwork then. I got my braces when I was 12 or 13 - I had them for 2 years, 19 days, 1 hour, and 13 minutes - it was that awful. I have seen student have them at 8 and again not until they were 15. I had a student who is 13 just get his off this week. Another student in the same grade level went to get his on this week. I believe there are different schools of thought on teeth shifting at a younger age or being easier to move when they are younger. I think it also depends on what type of orthodonture the patient is getting. With the invisilign, I believe they have to be older than with traditional braces. And of course, everything considered traditional now is a mount attached to the front of the tooth where I had silver bands all the way around all my teeth. I fact my teeth are so small, my bands had to be custom made.

I am so sorry your mom or mum makes things so difficult. I really hope I don't come across that way to either of my kids. I'm sure you want the relationship to be different. My m-i-l is difficult for me, but she is difficult for my husband too. I'm glad you let the steam off here! Just try to take comfort in knowing you are being a good daughter even though she is making it difficult. I do understand though!
