Do you do a real tree of artificial?

Artificial for us. I usually have 4 of them:rolleyes1

Now I have to google Rosti. :cutie:

Edited: Looks the same to me Karen. We make ours with onions in it also. I also love making (and eating) zuchinni pancakes the same way.

:rotfl2: Your zucchini = our courgette. Never tried those - I'll give them a go:thumbsup2

Me or Karen? I have artifical trees Janice. Our main one is almost done. The tinsel is on but we still need the tree topper which is Kristin's job and a few more ornaments towards the top. Chuck still has to hide the pickle ornaments too. :thumbsup2

How about a disney tree topper? Do you remember my Tink one from last year? I'll try to find a photo

Prelit or you put on lights?

I put our lights on strand by strand:sad2: - I like Jeff's idea of a net though - (although technically I'd call that cheating;) :lmao: )

Got it now. I thought it was some kind of fish. :goodvibes

Nancy, I think Chinooks are the only reason I still live in Calgary ::yes:: It's a nice warm wind over the mountains :lovestruc

We could have -20 ºC one day and then a Chinook comes in and it's +10 the next week :goodvibes I've been out in shorts in December, January and February before when it's Chinooking :woohoo:

Here's some pics of a Chinook cloud over the city:thumbsup2

This is with his crazy mama - my daughter. It was a few Christmases ago.

He is lying in a garden she was making for a project at school.

And this one is after he took a swim in a small local park. That is my Mack and Cleo's (our furry daughter) other side in the background.

We're artificial and put the lights on ourselves (well actually Suz). We cheat with the light though. Suz puts net lights on after every section of tree is put on the "post". It is a lot quicker putting on and taking off the lights.
Good idea, when do you put it up? b-4 thanksgiving or after?

I wrap each branch w/lights, takes a long time though. But beautiful when done.
I remember your tree you posted last year. Mackenzie would love your tree topper. Her room is Tinker Bell.

After. Although, I can't remember, but it may have been done ON Thanksgiving once or twice. Depends what time we get back from the out-laws.

Usually we do it Friday afternoon or Saturday. Sometimes, depending on when our auction is (always the first Saturday in December), Suz will decorate it (ornaments) that night since I'm gone. But lately, on auction night, Suz and DS go out for dinner and a movie (while I'm working  ).

So, in a round about way, the tree is up and decorated usually by the Sunday after Thanksgiving.

Suz hates it when it is a short period between Thanksgiving and Xmas because it is her favorite holiday.

I won't do the lights outside until after the 1st of November. I have a thing about putting them up too early. However, I will wait until it gets above 55 or 60 before I go up on the ladder. If I don't get a day like that, I will do them the weekend after Thanksgiving. And before you ask, the 70*+ days we had at the beginning of November were during the work week, so I didn't get them up then.

Under no circumstances will they go "on" until after Thanksgiving.

What's the most lights you've ever put on the tree?

I think we pushed/topped 3,000 once. We've cut back since then.

As for wrapping each branch, my mom use to do that. I remember how crabby she'd get when a set would go out and she had to take them off.

Love the lips on Olivia. :rotfl2: What kind of dog is Hershey? At first I thought a Chocolate lab, but then I saw the longer hair. :)

I love Hershey, is he a golden retriever? I have one of those, but much, much lighter

Need another idea? Chocolate is a vegetable. Chocolate comes from a bean, and a bean is a veggie. :goodvibes

I'm starting to think we might be twins separated at birth!

Our yellow lab likes to attack anything that the ups or Fed-Ex man drops off. Last year he tore apart two pairs of shoes I bought for the cruise and completely demolished a package with a new cell phone. Never did find the battery. :scared1:

Too funny! :lmao: Is that because your once ordered some chew toys over the internet and now he thinks everything is for him? Maybe I should send you some water balloons? That might teach him a lesson...:rolleyes1

It's ok Karen. He doesn't post that much anyway. He's really shy (just like me...cough, cough,) and just wanted to make conversation with Christian. I'm sure he'll check in again sometime. I'm certain of it. :thumbsup2

BRING BACK THE TUNA!!!

Now I have to google Rosti. :cutie:

This is very interesting Cass. Not sure I could deal with the -20c for to long though. They sure is purdy though!

Hershey was adopted from the pound. We are not really sure what he is. THe vet says he definitely a chocolate lab mix with a majority of chocolate lab, bue we don't know. He is just a big bundle of love - a very sweet old fellow.

I don't think I've put on that many, but alot. I'll keep track this year. Taking them off at the end of the season is not fun.
