10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat Cruise (I'm with BOB) Chapter #9

Another thunderstorm is approaching, shutting down my laptop again, I might just leave it off the rest of the night.

Andy, what if you just go with the battery on the laptop? Won't that work? Do you have wireless in your house or are you on a network line? If you're free and clear of any cords, you should be o.k. (unless the bolt hits the laptop).

Hello? Hello? Is thing on? Am I on everyone's "Ignore" list??:confused3

Fine ...

I'm going back to the restaurant boards to hang out with freaks like me who dream of food months in advance of their trips. :snooty:

Oh I've been dreaming of food month in advance of the Repo, does that count?

Man, guess we're playing pass the deodorant tonight?

Who wants a crack at being alone on the thread next?

Hey B, looks like Sebathia has a no hitter going against the Cards right now. They're in the 5th. He's only given up 1 walk so far.

Brewers up 1-0

Got that right sister.

So, should we be "fasionably" late?
You know as I was posting that I was thinking about this.

Hey Becky

Are you packed yet? So tell us what you have planned for the Repo? What kind of stuff are you guys doing?

Not quite packed yet, after this weekend though my kids will be tripping over our bags as they get moved out of my DD room and into the family room.
Plans for the Repo:
Spending time with 9 great people almost every night at dinner. (this is one of the things I am most looking forward to)
Cabo we are doing the Lands End Cruise
Puerto we are zip lining:scared1:
Acapulco not sure yet, may just get off the ship for a couple of hours and walk around
Panama Canal: holding up this and waving to the camera
sign003.jpg

Cartegena: Taking a city tour and telling Jeff to "get up off the ground those were not gun shots" And purchasing Logan a shirt that says "Who is this guy calling me son and why does he insist on following me?" and Suz on that says "Why does this guy keep calling me honey and following me?"
(oooo just got a Tshirt idea  )

Aruba: Planning on renting a jeep and touring on our own.

Castaway Cay: Finally making it to Serenity Bay:love:

On the ship: hoping to see what Rockin Bar D is all about, Cove Cafe, laying by the adult pool, maybe catch a movie, Palo's Dinner and hopefully Brunch. Some other stuff too, but this is a family board after all.:lmao: :rolleyes1

Brenda,
You know I got all excited when I saw your name on the 5 dayer list, just to figure out that you were not going. Quite sad I won't get to see you :sad1:

What's going on with the F&W, or should that be the F'n W?

Our Disney Dining insider and WDW announced that they would begin taking Festival special events reservations on August 11th, so all of us F&W freaks have been anxiously awaiting the release of program information and prices this week or maybe next week.

Instead, today we find out that they're pushing the reservation date back to August 25th and are not releasing details or prices until August 22nd.

These are pricey events and now they are non-refundable, so for many of us it takes time and schedule juggling to determine which events you want to book, and then you have to call on the first day they take ressies because seating is limited. Some events sell out within 30 minutes of the phone lines being opened and many events are sold out within the first day.

On top of that, the Festival opens on September 26th (I think) so WDW is basically giving people 30 days advance notice which is ridiculous when you think that they sell MNSSHP tickets 5 months in advance, MVMCP tickets 7 months in advance, and CP dining packages 6 months in advance.

It's almost like they want to make it impossible for out-of-state residents to plan their F&W vacations. I got so fed up with having to wait another 30 days that I just went ahead and made reservations for other things and unless something absolutely unbelievable is happening during our trip we just won't do very many special events this year. We'll stick with the free demos and eat ourselves silly at the food booths.

Part of the frustration is that just three years ago this information was typically available in June and WDW started taking reservations in July. It gave people a fair amount of time to plan but wasn't too excessive. Every year for the last three years the dates have been pushed closer and closer to the Festival start date and us food freaks don't like it one bit!

Thanks for letting me vent in a completely incoherent manner about something that matters not a whit in the overall scheme of things! :lmao:

You're so sweet!

We had talked about taking that cruise with my parents (God help us!) but then decided that it was a bad idea (mostly because of my parents). I think I would have pushed harder if that cruise were going to be on the Wonder because I'd really like to see the other ship but I think the 3&4 night cruises are overpriced.

You're going to have so much fun ... take lots of pictures so you can dazzle the rest of us when you get back!

Vent away. As a secretary I am used to it. Just realize that I probably won't read the whole vent and say "uh huh, yeah, oh I would be upset too, why do people do that, sorry that you have to go through this" and have no clue what you have said (or wrote in this case):lmao: ;)
No seriously, things have to be set by now, why aren't they releasing the dates? F&W is one of Sean and my favorite times at WDW. Hoping to get to do a couple of days next year before or after the cruise.

Thanks neighbor. Love the flag. Sounds like too much fun Becky. How about the rest of you REPOBOB's?

What's a 5 dayer list?:confused3
