I am pretty sure the value season starts around August 15th give or take a day or two.

I have gone around that time for the same reasons you mentioned. It's cheaper and the kids are still out of school in our area of the country.

Was it really warm at that time of year?

We don't start school here until after labor day, so it would be a good time to go if I can find the right deal.

I may have to check out the WDW planning boards eventually, but you guys are just way more fun!

It is pretty warm, but most of the WDW attractions are inside and air conditioned. Also, we would go to the parks in the morning until around lunch, then return to the hotel to swim and relax, then go back in the late afternoon when it would start to cool off.

Our next trip to WDW will probably be in mid to late August again, just for the price and convenience. Our last trip was a long weekend in February and it was actually cold at night. I believe it got down to around 35. During the day it was a breezy and chilly 60 or so. My sister and I rode Splash Mountain though, we walked on it!

Good morning/afternoon all! How is everyone?

I'm doing pretty well....lots going on at work but otherwise things are pretty quiet here.

I'm starting to try and get organized for Christmas and our AZ/DL trip....I've just figured out I have a lot to do between now and then.

For Christmas presents for my in-laws (Pete's mom and dad and sister and BIL) I am making a "DCL care package". I am making them each a "BOB" t-shirt, custom luggage tags, and a couple of door signs for their cabins. Does that sound odd? I think they'll enjoy them, and I know it's something they wouldn't do on their own. Hopefully they'll like them. But that means I have to get all that stuff made up!

Hiya Jen...that sound like a good idea.

My first (and only) trip to WDW was in January '99 for our honeymoon, and we went on Splash Mountain, got soaked, and were so cold we had to go back to the hotel and change! They were having a cold week - in the 50's (but it was -20 at home) so we spent most of the time in our coats. It was still a great trip though.

I agree with Jen...although it was quite hot..it was definately quiet after Labour Day

High Ho...back to work I go.

Hi Heather! How are you today?

I hope they like it, and they don't think I'm being "cheap". It actually isn't too cheap by the time I buy the t-shirts, transfers, ink cartridge, tags, etc.

I'm still working on the DISigns for the t-shirts and door signs, but I found a cool template for DCL luggage tags online, and those I have printed off.

i hope they think it's fun...we'll see!

Ok, I need to get some work done too...

before I go....great travel pics everyone!!!!!!

Thats sounds good Mimi 2012 we will celebrating 45 years together. I think we will be doing something. Maybe Joanne can talk us into some other adventure maybe Hawaii.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
Say hi to Mack and hope you enjoy your Pulled Pork.

Hawaii sounds good to me. If we all save our points it will only cost air fare.We can do our own adventures by disney.

fantastic pictures. That fish does not look real. It looks like everyone had a grand time. Di

Di - I really enjoyed your pictures! I love the fact that you and Walt do so much traveling. EB and I dream of doing that once our kids are grown and out the door. :lovestruc

I love to travel. It is so much fun seeing the United States on the bike. Di

Mimi,

What number anniversary are you celebrating in 2012?

I'm looking for a longer WDW vacation sometime soon too. We did a week the first time we took DS in 2003, but since then it has just been long weekends or a couple days before a cruise. Would like to just go and "take it all in" again.

I like going to Disney World for 7 days. It is plenty of time to do everything. My grandkids and I went last June and the only thing we didn't do was Fantasmic. We were too tired. They wanted to go swimming in the pool instead. We did not rush at all and we did every ride at least once some we did many times especially the rides the kids really loved. Di

I think 7 days is really ideal. I would like to do at least 7 on our next WDW vacation. My neighbors this summer went for 9 and they were really able to take their time. They have 4 kids and two of them were under age 3, so for them, 9 days was probably ideal!
