My father's view has always been to vote with the party. He goes with the idea that no matter what they say to get elected or even what their personal views are, they will vote with their party most of the time.

I wonder if that's a generational thing? My grandparents were rabid Democrats no matter who was running ... I mean the DNC could have dug up Jimmy Hoffa and run his corpse for election and they'd have voted for him.

I think we'll end up following the American League a little more closely this year ... Tampa Bay is a pretty compelling story this season.

I'm not sure my dad would go that far... but close! He's a confirmed Republican and only votes for Republicans when he votes.

Got a great letter in the mail today...I've been nominated for an award at work. Got to wait a couple of weeks to see if I've won something. Wish me some dust guys.

Nice to be nominated though...makes all the effort worth while, and appreciated.

Ditto! Plus I have to get the kids to bed. We had BINGO at the school and Sarah got purple ink from the dauber all over her. She had to soak in the tub, so she's not quite ready to sleep. And Megan is on the computer, as usual!

I'm watching America's Toughest Jobs on NBC, I'm sitting in my chair in the livingroom and am almost having a heart attack watching these people climb that bridge. The bridge (Vincent Thomas Bridge) is in San Pedro, CA. I believe it is the bridge the Magic sailed under when it was on CA.

We didn't go under it, the ship was docked right outside of it.

We did drive over it on the way in though.

I have some not so great news. We have decided not to go on the October 24th cruise. As that week gets closer in '08 I realize that with the activities the kids are in that it won't be a week that we can be away.

I sort of new this all along but I tried to think it would all work out. I have really enjoyed getting to know all of you and I will probably lurk a little just to keep up.

Cass / Christian ... we can't watch CBS.com from WDW because we won't bring our laptop with us (too much of a hassle).

I did realize that with the time zone change it will be 10PM when the show starts rather than the 9PM we're used to here at home. I'm pretty sure we'll be back at the resort by then to settle in and cry (at least I will) when we see poor Warrick again. He's always been my favorite character.

Well, sounds like you should be able to watch it but I think you can watch episodes on cbs.com well after the episodes air. Either way, you will get to see it

scary bridges ... I don't like bridges very much to begin with and crossing Lake Pontchartrain is excruciating. The causeway is something like 24 miles ...

I remember crossing Lake Pontchartrain when I drove down to Orlando in 1993. On the way there it was 2 AM and we didn't even know we were over water We definitely didn't miss it on the way back!

Jeff - Unfortunately, we're not planning any cruises past BOB....this may be our last one for a long time. I really want to plan for WDW in 2010, but I'm not sure we'll be able to even do that. I'm hoping I can find a deal for a value or moderate, maybe in late August with free dining and we can go, but we'll see.

Heather - I love all your piccies. I didnt get to see the ship dock at CC ... Ellis decided to have a major tantrum that morning - (wouldnt eat brekkie in the room while we got ready ), so by the time we finally got off the boat none of us were in a great mood and we missed the whole thing

We soon cheered up though. I'm making sure that next time we're up earlier and at Topsiders so I get to see it all

Oh Tanya thats so sad, we were really looking forward to spending time with you all next year. We had linked our table ressies to. Olivia will be gutted when she knows that she wont be able to see Claire again.
Keep in touch,and hopefully we will see you again sometime.
I can fully understand why you cant come, we have to take Olivia out of school so this may be our last time of cruising for a while.
