Wouldn't expect a Twins' fan to be anything but friendly (and helpful) - Thanks!

Anyone but the Yankees (we are from Boston).

I don't know if your question if for me but we will be going to the Dessert Party on the 20th, and MNSSHP on 21st. Double check your dates. I don't think Disney would have a dessert party during a MNSSHP night. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

OK, more questions:

What is an MNSSHP?:confused3

How do you sign up for things like "the Dessert Party"?:confused3

Are they just for Disney Club members, or what? Is there someplace I can look that has all this info? :confused3

Trying not to be too clueless, but I want to make sure I'm soing what I'm supposed to . . .:thumbsup2

We signed up for excursions and a spa treatment, but not for dinner reservations, times, etc. Do we need to do this, and where do I do it?

Sorry and thanks! :flower3:

One thing you should do is book dinner at "Palo" for one of the nights during the cruise.

We were all new to this once upon a time so ask away!

First, MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which is held certain nights at the Magic Kingdom in Disneyworld. Some cruisers are heading down to Orlando a day or two early to visit the parks, attend MNNSHP or the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.

The Dessert Party is also held at Magic Kingdom during the fireworks. It is a paid event that you need reservations for. You can find more info about any of these on the Theme Park board. Just scroll down the page and you will see a pull-down menu of all the boards on the Dis.

Your dinner time will either be Main Seating (5:45) or Second Seating (8:15) and that needed to be requested when you made your cruise reservations. This should be located on your cruise reservation online. If you want to dine at Palo, the adults only restaurant, you can make reservation as soon as you are onboard (go to Rockin Bar D - a cast member can direct you!)

Here is a link to the cruise FAQ located at the top of the Cruise Board:

And I agree about the Yankees! They have a hex on us!:scared1:

Hi all:

My wife, Eileen and I, and our two youngest, ages 8 and 9, are on board - first time Disney cruisers! :dance3: We are psyched!! Sorry to be SUCH a newbie, but what is an FE? We are packing one pirate outfit. pirate: Do we REALLY need formalwear, as the brochure claims? Can't see myself packing a tux. Do we need to reserve somewhere an early or late dinner, or how does that work? Sorry for all the questions! Brenda, your "tips" posted WAY back at the beginning of the thread were AWESOME!!

We can't wait!!!!:cool1::yay:

Welcome aboard. I see you already got answer about the FE and the formal wear. My DH only wears dress pants and a nice shirt and tie. No jacket - he's on vacation.

You will have already been assigned either Main Dining or Late Dining. Just looked on our cruise docs, but can't find the Dining assignment anywhere. It is on our reservation when we log onto the DCL website - maybe check there. They will tell you which of the three dining rooms you are starting in when you check in, it's on your KTWW card and there will most likely be some vouchers in your cabin on the first day as well. You will rotate between the three restaurants with the same waitstaff - they rotate as well. Main Dining seating starts around 5:45 I think and Late is 8:15 I think. Not 100% sure on the times. It's the same time each night.

You are going to have so much fun.

I am sorry. I was talking about the Food and Wine 3D party on the 21st, which is dessert and wines and special place to view Illiminations at EPCOT. Then we are doing MNSSHP at Magic Kingdom on the 22nd. I didn't realize they were still doing the dessert party at Magic Kingdom, I thought maybe they stopped it during Halloween and Christmas.

So I tore all the ligaments in my ankle Wednesday
On crutches for the next month and 8-12 weeks until I get back to work...hopefully the seas will be calm or I'll be flopin around like a pinball in the hallways!:lmao:

Wow what a bummer:sad1: Are you still going to be able to do the stateroom tour?:dance3:

I would say a sports coat or suit for the men on formal night and a shirt with a tie on semi formal. Cocktail dresses for the women. My son wears a sports coat and tie. I find fancy dresses at Marshall's or ebay for my daughter

I actually like a combination of large, medium and small cubes. All the undergarments and socks go into the small cubes; pj's, workout clothes, swimsuit and cover-up go in the medium and I use the large ones for everything else. They just keep everything nice and organized and if TSA goes through your suitcase, your stuff doesn't look like it went through a hurricane!:scared1:

(I suppose I should not use that word around here!;))
Rec'd my 3 sets of cubes yesterday....raspberry for me....nice discounted sets of orange that may be kept or given as gifts...???

Your comment about undergarments reminded me of something (ok guys I know the board is PG so minds out of gutter) but on our last cruise in 2008/2009 I somehow left all of my clean undergarments in one of the drawers in our cabin. For some reason I didn't even realize I had done it until several days after getting home I get a call from DCL informing me they had my "bras and undergarments" and they wanted to verify my address.

So lesson here - Disney ensures your undergarments are safe and sound and will be back with you in no time (they paid for the shipping, packaging, etc.).
LOL - how did i not hear about this before??? that is hilarious - but nice to know they do that!!!!

Well that is totally up to you!:rotfl:

It took me 3 cruises to find the fitness center. There is something about hopping on the treadmill, looking at the wide open seas, and trying not to fall off. Nothing like it to get the heart rate up. :scared1: I have good intentions...one mojito equals 15 minutes of running! And I have plans for lots of mojitos!!!
no treadmill for me onboard - i do that at home....but I DO LOVE to get 10 laps each a.m. around the ship deck (which i CANT do anywhere but on the ship)....equates to 3 miles

Ok So I have a bunch of new stuff in a closet and most of the stuff is for my DD's clothing, disney bathing suits and sand toys, and the pillowcases to get signed..stuff like that..Most of which my dd's dont know about and some that they know about but have probably forgoten about until they see them again...So my dilemma is....how do I take the stuff out and go through it without them seeing it all. They dont take naps anymore unless I am really lucky:goodvibes. I could send them outside but they always come in and out, in and out, you know the routine:confused3. I really would like to do this today cuz I am at a loss of what we actually have. I started buying things when I saw them on sale and put them in this closet. I think I have everything but not 100% sure. I can stress out about anything as you can see:eek:. While enjoying all the cruise preparation it can feel overwhelming. I think my Dh would love to not hear anything about Disney from me until we are on the ship.:rotfl2:
Just get up at 4 am tomorrow a.m.
Priorities.....Disney doesn't want folks running around without their britches...:)

All I have packed is the FE and most of the Owners Locker stuff (we are shipping this ahead to our resort via UPS). I need to make an effort for this weekend to get all the formal/semi-formal stuff together. I think both my son and daughter are going to need shoes to go with their formal items. I'm starting to feel like I don't have enough time to get this all done.
I am waiting for three shipments of new stuff to be delivered...hopefully early next week so i can really get stuff packed - next weekend i have my niece & nephew overnight while their parents go away for anniv celebration and also my DD's 30th BD party...the weekend after that is parents wkend at Univ of Pac so we are gone then too, and then basically it's only 2 days and I'm OUTTA here!!!!

You are welcome! I am sending this from my iPad as a test. Trying to decide if I will bring this along. It is a way to stay in touch with DH and DS. Anyone else planning to bring an iPad or laptop?
i am taking my Ipad - would have had to take a laptop too BUT found a cool app for remote desktop so i can access my laptop via the ipad and keep up with whatever the office needs via that way :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Anyone but the Yankees (we are from Boston).
hey....the YANKEES are MY AL team....however, since i live an hour so. of San Francisco the Giants are my no. 1 team - even with the absence of my Barry Bonds....but Yanks are my AL team!!!!

Question...anyone found/used a great online website to prepurchase discounted park tickets - looking for EPCOT and Universal...just wondering if AAA or Costco offers anything??

PS - WELCOME to the newcomers to our thread....this group is going to ROCK this ship!!!!!

Mousesavers.com advertises about Undercovertourist. Not sure the url - I've looked there in the past, but have always gone with another option for one reason or another.

Hey, Brenda!

I very much hate to ask you this with as much work as you've :worship:put into this board :grouphug:, but can I get a finalized FE list? I have so many cabins to schedule, and this is one of the surprises for most in our reunion. With all the switches and late add-ons/little mixups, I'm not sure what my final counts need to be.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

thanks - checked them out -they have some savings for multiday passes but sister & niece only able to do one day as they arrive thursday night - so just ordered directly from WDW & from Universal. Was really nice to just print our Universal tix, but have to do 'will call' for the Disney tix - didn't want to take a chance on having them mailed...

OMG - we are SOOO SOOO close - i can "feel" it!!!! :woohoo:

It's 7:30 am (EST) and 3 weeks from now, Carla and I should be walking away from our first dinner, head to our cabin to change into comfy clothes, then the play.

Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to all new cruisers to our thread.

Jan

P.S. Go Michigan State!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

San Francisco Giants lost to the Padres today - they NEED to win tomorrow to clinch the title.....St Francis Sharks WON their homecoming game and now i'm hoping for an Iowa WIN!!!! Let's GO Hawkeyes!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
