Ok So I have a bunch of new stuff in a closet and most of the stuff is for my DD's clothing,disney bathing suits and sand toys, and the pillowcases to get signed..stuff like that..Most of which my dd's dont know about and some that they know about but have probably forgoten about until they see them again...So my dilemma is....how do I take the stuff out and go through it without them seeing it all. They dont take naps anymore unless I am really lucky:goodvibes. I could send them outside but they always come in and out, in and out, you know the routine:confused3. I really would like to do this today cuz I am at a loss of what we actually have. I started buying things when I saw them on sale and put them in this closet. I think I have everything but not 100% sure. I can stress out about anything as you can see:eek:. While enjoying all the cruise preparation it can feel overwhelming. I think my Dh would love to not hear anything about Disney from me until we are on the ship.:rotfl2:

Haha, same dilema! I have tried the "Mommy needs a time out", lock myself in the bedroom to pack for Disney but it has never worked. Usually, the only time I have to get anything done is somewhere between midnight and 4 am! :lmao: Hopefully, hubby can watch a movie with the kiddos so it won't be a late night.

LOVE LOVE the packing cubes. Each family member has their own color/set. The only thing missing is a label. We use the packing cubes on every trip.

Thank you for the shipping instructions!! I have been meaning to look it up.

The girls have Elizabeth Swann pirate costumes. Disney store had them on sale last year. Hubby has his pirate costume from Walmart. I haven't found one that, ahh... well, is conservative. I have put one together. I am either going to look like a pirate or a gondelier! :rotfl2: I am hoping the I will be able to tweak my costume when we go to the pirate league. Hubby and I are going to MNSSHP as pirates.

I AM SO EXCITED!! :yay::yay::yay:

Another fan of the packing cubes. I keep DH's Disney t's in the packing cube all year long...just add them to the suitcase!

uhm...does any mind some discussion on setting up an account with Shutterfly. I use photobucket and feel they are a great photo storage site - but have a personal preference to Photobucket. I really like that you can get photos delivered or have them processed at your local Target store. On a past cruise I set one up one with Shutterfly that was password protected.

If no one has heartburn...I hope there will be some consideration offered to using Shutterfly. I'd be happy to take the lead on this and if someone would assist - great. If not...I'll take it on.

:thumbsup2 You got my thumbs up :thumbsup2

Wow only 3 back up batteries!!!! I guess you plan on taking lots of pics. Me I have just 1 extra battery. Between the 2 I'm good for about 1800 shots.
What sort of recommendations are you looking for? Let me know and I will do my best to answer.

Also didn't know anything about a photobucket account. I was just planning to post my shots on the potd thread. I'm always willing to share pics if need be though.

Haha, yes, MANY pictures Dave. I always forget to charge my camera battery. :mad: I am getting that power strip Minniesota recommended. Thank you Minniesota!! Hopefully, in sight, in mind! I was looking for just 1 battery but got a deal on 3. We have a lot of first coming up on this trip. What setting do you recommend for taking firework pics? We have reservations for the dessert party. What setting would you recommend for night time park pics (like at MNSSHP) with the characters? Certain areas of MK can be really dark.

You are welcome! I am sending this from my iPad as a test. Trying to decide if I will bring this along. It is a way to stay in touch with DH and DS. Anyone else planning to bring an iPad or laptop?

What nite are you going to be at the dessert party? We have reservations for the 21st (my 50th b-day--one way to get a birthday cake, LOL) And then have MNSSHP on the 22nd. This is going to be one great vacation.

Rec'd a $3.78 credit to account today from DCL. I thought it was a deduction so I called and found out it was a credit. So then I asked since I have you on the phone do you know if my surcharge of $155 for fuel will be credited...Sad sad news..NOPE..Barrel of fuel was above $70 per barrel for 4th quarter:scared1:. So no OBC for refunded fuel.:sad1::sad1: Hey but I did get a refund of 3.78. :rotfl::rotfl:

October 1st, the month has finally arrived. 22 more days people.

:woohoo::woohoo: :cool1::cool1: :banana::banana: :yay::yay:

I don't know if your question if for me but we will be going to the Dessert Party on the 20th, and MNSSHP on 21st. Double check your dates. I don't think Disney would have a dessert party during a MNSSHP night. I hope you have a wonderful birthday!! :banana:

Happy October 1!!!!!!!

Three weeks from this morning, I'll be on my way to Detroit Metro Airport.

I can't get over its October already....Sheesh - Christmas is only a few months away. In three weeks we will be in DHS....:banana: I am getting VERY excited but also nervous as I feel like I haven't packed a ton. It is thankfully getting cool around here so I can pack some of the summer items we wear without worrying of having to pull it back out.

Hey, Everyone, sorry that I have been away. It has been very hectic the last few days. Anyway, I will have to be going out of town in about an hour and won't have computer access again until Sunday evening. So, forgive, I hope that you all can hang in for the final FE list until then.

I can't believe that it is October already.

Hi Everyone! My partner and I can't wait for this cruise! This will be our first cruise ever ... cruising with my Brother (DisWitt) and his family - wife and two sons. I'm so glad my DB turned me on to disboards cuz without them I think I'd feel like a total "new guy" on board! Thanks for all the great ideas and tips on EVERYTHING!!
I'm making the FE for my bro's family and after seeing some of the pics on here of others, I'm afraid they are going to look like the "Ghetto Family" of the ship!! Sorry, TW!

I'm so glad it's finally October ... we booked this cruise in Feb 2009 and it has taken FOREVER for this time to finally get here!!

Looking forward to enjoying the week with everyone!

Hi all:

My wife, Eileen and I, and our two youngest, ages 8 and 9, are on board - first time Disney cruisers! :dance3: We are psyched!! Sorry to be SUCH a newbie, but what is an FE? We are packing one pirate outfit. pirate: Do we REALLY need formalwear, as the brochure claims? Can't see myself packing a tux. Do we need to reserve somewhere an early or late dinner, or how does that work? Sorry for all the questions! Brenda, your "tips" posted WAY back at the beginning of the thread were AWESOME!!

We can't wait!!!!:cool1::yay:

An FE - fish extender - is a hanging multi pocket pouch that is hung from the brass fish outside your stateroom for other DISboarders to place gifts in. The participants on this cruise set a deadline of Aug. 23 to sign up but Brenda (sunshine1259) has mentioned that newcomers could form their own exchange if they wanted!

You don't need to pack a tux! (Actually, if you really wanted to wear a tax, there is a rental company that delivers the tux to your stateroom.) Most guys wear dress slacks, dress shirt and tie, some wear a jacket. There are a few tuxedos as well. Women wear what they would normally wear to a nice evening wedding. Hope that helps!
