Hey Kevin great pic!!

Is this taken with your new toy oh I mean tool that you purchased. You know the one you blamed me for... lol. Can't wait to see what else you come up with. What lens were you using? We are going to have some kind of fun shooting together on our trip. Can't wait!!! :woohoo:

Great afternoon. A day in the sun with my Brother watching baseball. A few hot dogs and beers....just add to the fun. Here's a photo I titled - "Don't dig in".

IMG_0046_edited-1.jpg
[/IMG]

We had some very nice seats. I kept walking down between innings to take photos from just behind the dugout. A group that had seats on the front row left in the 5th inning. On of them as they were leaving...handed me a couple of tickets...said I could take photos from their seats. Who am I to say no.

Had a great time

yep - yep - yep. I am really enjoying my purchase.

You know the one you blamed me for... lol.

Well I knew you had big shoulders. But I'll gladly return the favor and take a bullet for you. Any tool/toy you are wanting...I can bring up???:lmao:

right now...I just have the 35 to 80mm - would guess it's considered a starter lens. Am looking around and hopeful for a 28 to 135mm IS lens before we sail. Want to give one a road test at our local big box store - first. Do you have any suggestions?? Uhm...er...cough...wanna take another bullet for me? Maybe I'll start talking to my bride about all the different lenses you have in your signature. Yeah...that's it...that's the ticket. So....if Nan gives ya a dirty look when she first meets you...you'll know why (just kidding). :rotfl:

We took a short trip to my Brothers earlier this week. He and his wife have ~four acres ~three miles from the Saguaro National Preserve in Tucson. It’s a natural Sonoran desert - just beautiful country. I took a short hike just after sunrise and popped off some shots. I say short...since rattlesnake season is just about to start – didn’t want to get too far. I know...no pain – no gain. I'll need to download my CF card...and If I got anything worth sharing...I’ll drop an image in the POTD thread.

Speaking of CF cards...not sure if you or any need one/another. I went to Costco to pick up a spare. They have a great deal – SanDisk Ultra II 8GB CF cards for $27 - ~$30 with tax. They had other types on sale (SD – type for Sony – etc). It’s amazing how cheap memory has gotten.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!! I look forward to getting to know you all also! I've been reading through the earlier pages. Lots of information to be had! Even so, I'm sure I'll have to bend your ears with questions! Happy to say I've already begun shopping for the trip!! Woohoo!! Still sorting through the different lists of suggested items to pack.

Oh! Quick question to start with, really-how many suitcases do most pack per person? Ideally, the four of us would each have our own carryon luggage, & I'm hoping just one or two larger checked pieces total. Does that seem doable??

TIA & have a great night all!! :)
1 suit, 3 shorts, 1 bathing suit, 1 long pants, 3 shirts.:laundy:

Big shoulders eh!! Anything else you need me to carry??

As for lenes it all depends on your shooting style. My favorite focal length is the 17 - 50mm range thus the new f2.8 lens I just purchased. The Tamron with take the place of 18-70mm Nikkor, which is up for sale by the way along with the D80 body but don't tell Sue.....lol

For the trip I would think a wider lens such as the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 would be a nice addition. I say Sigma because it zooms in and out the same as Canon lenses. Also you could pick up a 50mm f 1.8 prime for nice lowlight and great bokah shots. The Canon version is quite cheap as well, I hear it's around a $100. Oh and an external flash. You need one of those as well. It's always better to bounce your flash then using the built in pop up flash that gives you such harsh light.

Hope that helps. I feel more weight being put on my shoulders.

Can't wait to see some more pics. Just remember to watch your exposure. It is best to set your camera a little to the minus side and lighten it up in pp later.

Good luck!! :thumbsup2

What part of Quebec are you from. We were in your beautiful province last summer. We went to Montreal, Quebec City and Gatineau. Had a great time.

I’m very happy to say that my DW and I will be joining all of you on this fabulous cruise.princess:pirate:

I just booked the cruise and our pre-cruise stay at Kidani Village. We’re absolutely thrilled to say the least.

Originally we were booked on the 5/30 double dipper to the Bahamas to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary as well as both of our 50th birthdays while we were underway. A couple of weeks ago my DW was diagnosed with breast cancer. The radiation therapy and chemo post surgery would have made the trip impossible so we were forced to cancel at the doctor’s suggestion. Well… after much prayer by friends, family, co-workers, and people we've never met in the DISboards, we are happy to report that the surgery was very successful. The doctor skillfully removed the cancer to a negative margin and the lymph nodes he took showed no sign that it spread with a 95% certainty. We’ll get the results from the lab on the final 5% in a few days and she’ll begin radiation soon. With this cruise scheduled in October it will give her plenty of time to recoup and also give her something to look forward to. In fact, she broke into tears when the DVC operator was able to give us what we were looking for.

Anyway our info is as follows…please add us to this cruise list.

Donna, 50
Tim, 50
Late seating for dinner…

WOOOHOOO!!!:woohoo:

Hi Tim and Donna! Glad you'll be joining us!!!

Hugs and prayers to Donna as she goes through treatment. I am cruising with my DD's m-i-l. We were supposed to cruise this past January but she was diagnosed with breast cancer in December, so we are looking forward to this upcoming cruise. My cruise buddy finished her last chemo treatment yesterday and she is now ready to pack!!

How appropriate for you to be cruising in October, breast cancer awareness month. My mother is a breast cancer survivor.

Hi there!

My family and I will also be joining you guys on this cruise. Along with me will be my husband Jason (who will be turning the BIG 40 on the cruise) and my kids Kyle (9), Kailey (6) and Brett (2). My mother in law will also be coming along.

We just got back from a stay at Disneyworld this past week and now I get to focus on this next trip
We are all really looking forward to it. It will be our 3rd Disney cruise. We will also be going to the parks and to MNSSHP sometime either before or after.
I just found out TAKS testing is that week before and I'm not sure what grade it is for....
I am debating about staying at either the Poly or the Grand Floridian. We just got back from the Poly and loved it. I haven't stayed at the GF in so long though and I really love that resort as well. Decisions...decisions...

Looking forward to a wonderful cruise!!!!:cheer2:

Hey to all!!!

Just offering our thread a little bump - AND to welcome Heather/Jason/Kyle/Kailey/Brett and MUM to our group.:grouphug:

This trip is starting to feel --- a little more real. Southwest Airlines just opened their flights from mid August through October 30. AND...I booked our airfare.:cool1::banana::yay: The prices weren’t the best I've seen but when you add the luggage fees other carriers charge - southwest was compairable. Plus...got the times we wanted and direct flights. Can I get a WAH HOO!!!

Now I need to figure out what we're going to do for our first night (wed - prior to cruising). Was thinking about staying in Kissimmee - but will prob see if we can add another night at The Boardwalk.

I also need to nail down transportation from Port to the Airport on Saturday morning. Anyone with a 12/Noon-ish flight home - interested in splitting a towncar with Nan and I? Please PM me if you would like to discuss.
