I have my airfare, but my family from Iowa is waiting till Allegiant opens up oct fares, and my DD hasn't booked yet either - sure she will soon

got some great deals on my airfare, hotel & car....$10 AF (miles) and free room at Hyatt and free car (Hyatt points)!!!!:yay::woohoo::banana:

What is up with Allegiant not opening up October yet? We've been waitin on them, too, but for tickets from South Carolina. Any idea on when they'll open them up or why it's taking them so long? Yes, I know, I'm growing impatient. I want this cruise to be here already. :-)

hi,
just joined this board. My husband and I and 15 yo daughter will be on this cruise. It will be our third one. We book 2 years in advance so we can get the room we want. It seems like a really long time but after the first of the year it seems to go fast. I love the planning and shopping and getting ready for the cruise.. I love everything about the CRUISE. i love brunch at Palo, caviar and champagne yummmm. St Martins is my favorite, we went to Nassau on last cruise, we were staying ahead of hurricane or bad weather. We only had a little while on St Martin. We didn't Like St Thomas-St John as much. We went on Dolphins swim a big waste of money. The boat that took us out to see the dophins was rickety and very bumpy, it broke down on the way and they had to send another one out to pick us up.

Welcome to the DIS and to our meet thread. Be sure to check out post Two if you haven't already done so. There is much information about what we will be planning and who is going.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!! I look forward to getting to know you all also! I've been reading through the earlier pages. Lots of information to be had! Even so, I'm sure I'll have to bend your ears with questions! Happy to say I've already begun shopping for the trip!! Woohoo!! Still sorting through the different lists of suggested items to pack.

Oh! Quick question to start with, really-how many suitcases do most pack per person? Ideally, the four of us would each have our own carryon luggage, & I'm hoping just one or two larger checked pieces total. Does that seem doable??

TIA & have a great night all!! :)

Can you not add someone to a room even if there's room in the stateroom? Just wondering as I've not added my oldest son because I didn't know if his schedule would allow him to come with us.

At this point, though, we may have to cancel. I"m waiting until the last possible minute as I so badly want to go, but the economy has hit us so hard. If we do go, I do know my mom will be canceling her cat 7 and moving into one of our rooms. We have until August 5th. SIGH.

Nan and I are the wrong ones to ask. We talk big about packing light...but often we pack big, too!

I've heard of two interesting 'rules of thumb'

one - take half the clothes and twice as much money

two - place all the clothes you want to take on your bed. Leave the room. Invite a 'great friend' to review your selection and have them thin out your choices and pack for you. What ever they say...goes - or - stays (how ever you look at life).

I wish you luck...and if you figure it out...plz pass answers our way. We sure can use the help.

good luck.....k

my dd and i have to pack the most. i pack the clothes that we wear for dinner, that would be one formal each a semi formal and pirate gear. then couple outfit for each day, mix and match. My dd wears the same size now as i do so we can share. i love shoes so i always have a small suitcase that has mostly shoes, i also pile underwear and bathing suits in with it, a least a couple bathing suits each. i have a rolling close rack and start getting things together and hanging them up on the rack until its time to pack. i have an inventory of all the days and what i need. we pack 4 suitcase and have 3 carry on. i sounds like alot but its a cruise and its special. that just clothes and you can't forget the other stuff, makeup, medicine, sunscreen, camera, ect. boy, this really seems like a lot and don't forget your husbands belt or his socks, it really ticks him off. i done both on different occasions:guilty:

That all sounds great...i just booked our precruise-night at the 'airport Hyatt' for Friday night....i'll be at WDW from Wed 10/20 (my BD) till Friday nt with Chel & Rus, then my DD, Dsis & Dniece arrive friday night. We will drive to the port early sat....drop the car and then i think we'll book DCL back to the airport on the 30th....

We've thought about staying at Hyatt as I heard they are very nice. But we couldn't pass up staying at one of the DVC resorts...:) Are you guys still staying at SSR? We thought about switching to SSR but it is going to require 10 more points for two nights and we are "thinking" about a Christmas Trip for 2011 and we will be tight on points by then (darn DVC)...:)

You guys (including Rus/Chel) have any other cruises booked at this point? We only have the Alaskan one in May of 2011 with Chas booked but I am considering booking onboard in October for something in 2012...

It depends - how old is your son?

Great afternoon. A day in the sun with my Brother watching baseball. A few hot dogs and beers....just add to the fun. Here's a photo I titled - "Don't dig in".

We had some very nice seats. I kept walking down between innings to take photos from just behind the dugout. A group that had seats on the front row left in the 5th inning. On of them as they were leaving...handed me a couple of tickets...said I could take photos from their seats. Who am I to say no.

Had a great time

Yeah - keep bragging. It's beautiful in Arizona right now....our opening day isn't till April so no baseball for us until then. (Yes I am a HUGE STL Cardinals fan!!!)

Hi, Joyce. Welcome to our cruise thread and welcome to the DisBoards. I love planners. I'm a big planner as well and love all the pre-trip to-dos almost as much as the trip itself.

I will add you all to the main cruise thread. We also have a yahoo site, that we as a group have to assist with the planning. Please contact Kevin (d'Isigny) with your email address if you would like to be added to that list and participate in the planning there.

We are also doing a FE gift exchange which is a lot of fun. So, please let me know if you all would be interested in that as well.

This is going to be a great trip as we have a great group going.

Well, again Welcome Aboard.

Hi, Angela. I sure hope that you all will be able to go. Yes, I would wait as long as possible before deciding to cancel.

But in the meantime, I would had your son now because even if there is room in the stateroom, there may not be room in the lifeboat (if needed). At least check now to see if there is availability for him.

I hope that it all works out.

Hello, Strawberry Brenda. Eric and I will be at the Hyatt Thursday and Friday nights. We haven't decided what we are going to do Friday yet. I would love to go to EPCOT or the Magic Kingdom. Just have to wait to we are closer to the time.

But if you all are going to be at the Hyatt, perhaps we can meet up sometime Friday evening, depending on everyone's schedule of course.

Let me know.

We are still waiting for SW to release rates from St. Louis to Orlando - The only other airline that flies direct to Orlando from St. Louis is AirTran. My only issue with AirTran in St. Louis is they change the schedules ALL the time and with us trying to minimize the amount of time our daughter is out of school we are leaning towards more SW.

We are staying at AKV Thursday and Friday night before the cruise. We are renting a car when we arrive and actually keeping it at the port for the week. The price to rent a car and return/pick up at the port was pretty much the same as just keeping it and returning it to Orlando.

We are staying the night we disembark at Disney AKV as well and finally returning home Sunday, October 31st.

We are just waiting to get something under $300 pp. I am hoping to book in the next few weeks. Since we are planning to arrive 2 days early, we don't necessarily care if it is a direct flight. But, of course, a direct flight would be preferable. Here's hoping everything works out for all of us.

Ditto. I can't wait until our first game which isn't until the end of APRIL!!!

Enjoy them all for us, Kevin.

I have to agree...it's beautiful in Az - now. But...you'll get to get even with us in 3 to 6 more weeks. I anticipate our temps will be in the 100's by then and won't come down till after we get back from our cruise. I hate summer!!

Great b-ball tradition in STL. The winning history is nothing to argue with - or against. Am hoping one day to enjoy a game in your city.
